  1. On our 2 week Eclipse cruise, I left a post it note for the steward asking for a "few" more hangers. When we returned to our cabin, we found a huge pile of wire hangers on the bed. I loved how all the wooden hangers in the closet all had skirt hangers attached. We hung up almost everything.

  2. We were Eclipse Aqua Spa passengers and ate every dinner in Blu but one on our 2-week cruise. We ordered a mix from the regular and the vegetarian menu and were completely happy. Had no problem with the service at all. We ate some breakfasts at the Aqua Spa Cafe (loved their hot apple cider oatmeal!) but most of them were at Blu. Too hard to pass up that Museli prepared to order. I'm not sure, but don't think that is available anywhere else on the ship.

  3. We sailed on Eclipse in April in an Aqua class cabin and loved everything about it.No comparison to NCL which we have sailed on the most. We ate all our dinners in Blu and most of our breakfasts. That musli can't be beat! Did have several breakfasts at the Aqua Spa cafe, where we also ate most of our lunches. Their hot apple cider oatmeal was the best we ever tasted. Only went to the buffet twice and found out the food wasn't nearly as good. We loved the Lawn Club with it's Sunset Bar and their mint lemonaide. Also loved the wonderful violin and cello music in the lounge on our way to Blu. Used the Spa a lot and the heated tile lounge chairs. Too many other things we loved to even start to mention. We have booked the very same cabin for the very same cruise next April. So glad we discovered Celebrity!

  4. After 14 cruises on the old Norway (SS France of 1962) I still prefer a ship that looks somewhat like a ship - not a floating refrigerator. Have been loyal to NCL through the years but had our first Celebrity cruise last month, on the Eclipse. The ship was beautiful inside and I felt like a "celebrity". Also, the food and the Spa were great. Will probably never cruise another line now.

  5. We were on the Eclipse April 3 sailing and enjoyed 3 meals at Bistro on 5. The food was great and we had no problem at all with the service. Am crazy about their Portabello Mushroom Burger with goat cheese! We are taking the same cruise next year and want no part of Bistro if it is a sushi bar.

As the the lawn, we thought it was unique and such a great touch on a cruise ship. It was quiet and peaceful, and we spent many evenings there. The Sunset Bar was one of our favorites.

  6. Being a vegetarian who doesn't eat anything that had parents, I steer very clear of seafood of any kind. Was so looking forward to having embarkation lunch at Bistro on 5. (Eclipse in April this year) With the main dining room closed and the buffet way too crowded for us, where else can we eat lunch??? Thanks!

  7. Am SO enjoying your review and all the wonderful pics! And especially because you are vegetarians like I am. Have you seen any special vegetarian menus? It sounds like you found plenty to eat. I do eat dairy, including cheese, and eggs. Anything that did not have parents actually. Will be sailing Eclipse in April so am especially enjoying anything you can say about what looks like a wonderful ship. Thanks!

  8. I just recalled one of my happiest memories - along with all the ones already mentioned in this thread. Has anyone here sailed on the Norway? I loved that ship and was aboard her for 14 cruises, including 2 glorious transatlantics. She had the most awesome fragrance as you stepped onto her that I wish I could describe. That heavenly smell told me for sure that our vacation was really starting and that it would be so good. If only I could have captured it in a bottle to take home.

  9. I've been digging in my head for my "favorite" part of cruising. It's impossible to pick!!! So I just have to say - everything that has been previously mentioned. From the first sight of your ship waiting at the dock right up until the last day when you have to pack (ugh!) every part of the cruise is glorious.

  10. Plans can sometimes go awry. In April we sailed on the NCL Gem. When we signed in we were given "boarding numbers". Since I was a Platinum member, our number was 3 while I saw others with numbers well up in the 20's. As it turned out, the ship was late getting into port and everyone had to wait over an hour longer than we should have had to to board. When we did finally board our room was still not ready so we took our carryons to the MDR and had a nice, quiet, peaceful lunch. Our next cruise will be on Celebrity, for the first time, in an Aqua cabin. I have no idea what to expect on boarding. Guess we'll find out.
