  1. We were looking at the $26/day drink package but after going through 4 pages of threads and not being able to get through to anyone at RCI by phone, I'm still unclear about exactly what is included.

For example, it says orange juice at breakfast. I usually drink cranberry juice, and at all times of the day, not just breakfast. Will I have access to cranberry, pineapple or grapefruit juice on the Allure, or will I have to pay for them at the bar or MDR table ?

Will I be charged for an Americano at the Park Cafe or an espresso after dinner in the MDR ?

I cannot find answers and I'm relying on my CC friends to help. I don't want to get the deluxe package because I'm not a big drinker, besides, I had the deluxe package on the Getaway in February and they would not give me any juices that didn't contain alcohol in them free, even in the dining rooms. If I had them put a splash of booze in them, they were suddenly free.

The other beverage question is, Coke or Pepsi onboard, just in case the $26/day package doesn't include juices (plural) 24/7 without extra charges.

Thank you for any help you can give me.

    Warm Regards,

    Kristine

Suggestion: find one of the live threads that are going on, and ask someone on the ship right now.

  2. Mine was similar, but a little less specific on dates/ships. I had to complete my sail within 365 days of the date of the certificate. The boat must be less than 365 days old. It had to be a Caribbean sailing, and I could not sail during holiday weeks or during the months of June, July or August. No option to use on a sailing past 365 days, but when I e-mailed and asked if we could they did with no problem. Interior or Outside only, could upgrade if desired. Had to pay port charges, taxes, fees and pre-paid gratuities in full when booking. They assign the room. Non-transferable.

  3. If you are going to post a picture, make sure you blur out any info that can be used by someone to recreate and fake a certificate. You can't trust people nowadays.

I haven't won a casino certificate, but have won a bingo certificate. We had a full paragraph of details about when it could and could not be used.

  4. Looking forward to your live thread. We will be with you, YAY! Look for the guy with a beard and wearing Anaheim Ducks apparel. And with a drink in hand. We are leaving Saturday Morning from So Cal into Orlando to Cocoa Beach by night fall. Have Fun on your Saturday.

Where are you staying in Cocoa Beach? We've got reservations at the Best Western for our September sailing.

  5. It's funny you mention this because we did NCL last fall and thought the buffet was immensely better than RCCL and thought Royal had slipped in the buffet area. Now we are booked on Anthem and will be curious to see how the Windjammer improved or stayed the same. Royal Caribbean is our preferred cruise line afterall.

The hot cookies, fresh from the WJ oven on Quantum were amazing. Hope Anthem has them too! You'll find them in the area with all the freshly baked bread.

  6. LOL...thought this thread was about internet trolls dissing the Oasis. Our 2 older sons had trolls when they were children.. they're 40 and 38 now, but don't think either would book a cruise based on Trolls begin aboard.

LOL me too! My kids are 17 and 19, so Trolls wasn't even a consideration when it came out..

  7. I know i'm venturing away from cruise talk now but how long would you say the average wait time is in the first week of november at Disney and Universal?

That's really tough to say. Depends on the amount of new attractions; people tend to flock to those so they will have long waits. Definitely Fast Pass when you can. The older rides will be shortest.

Never been to Universal myself, we always did Disney. We had season passes when the kids were young, would go down a couple times a year for a couple weeks at a time. As they got older, we'd switch to more cruising than Disney, last trip there was three years ago; cruised one week and stayed in WDW for one week. Cruised twice since then but no Disney. Gets harder when they get to high school.

  8. Is 'WDW' Walt Disney World? Ah poop, that's exactly when we were planning on going to Disney.

Plan is fly to Orlando on the 4/5th do Disney and Universal then rent a mustang and drive down to Fort Lauderdale for the cruise on the 10th.

So your telling me I'm going to have to fight my way to the front of the lines through a sea of children :( bad times.

Edit: doing some research and fortunatly this website claims otherwise about when to go to Disney. https://www.undercovertourist.com/blog/best-time-to-visit-disney-world/

Although i appreciate your contribution i also hope you are wrong in the nicest possible way

Well, as a family of four that goes away every year for that week, I wish I could say I was wrong. We've spent many a trip in WDW and many a trip cruising. Don't leave out of Bayonne that week. New Jersey empties out the first week in November. WDW is normally slow that time of year, so with the added NJ and OH folks, in addition to the Europeans that we always seemed to encounter, it's still slower than summer months.

  9. I'm doing a back to back, first departing on the 10th-18th and second 18th-25th

So are children off for a week during thanksgiving time?

New Jersey schools are off the first Thursday & Friday of November, which happens to also have Election Day during the same week, so cruises that week and sometimes the week after tend to be busy if you are leaving from up here (Bayonne, New York, Baltimore.)

I think Ohio also has the same days off. Stay away from WDW the first week of November too, haha.

  10. When you book the package you need to select the time for the first reservation. If you had an entertainment reservation that conflicted with that it would tell you. They allow 2 hours for dinner.

All other reservations you make on board and you select the time.

Thanks! I did choose the first night, but Bob's comment made it sound like they will stick us in the empty slots...so was hoping that would not be the case. I like the idea of making the time choices myself.

  11. If you must have pre-cruise reservations for specific times, then it's better to skip purchasing a dining package and book each restaurant individually. Part of the reason they give a break on the price is to fill those time slots that are not filled pre-cruise.

We booked the package; I'm hoping that they take our entertainment reservations in mind when placing us in our dinner reservations. We are not picky about when we eat, but don't want to rush through a meal to see a show.

  12. Try looking in the brochure, you can download it here:

Thanks for that link Bob! Big help to me; I saved it as a pdf so I didn't have to print out all 102 pages, and I don't have to worry about the link not working next time I visit.

We like knowing when we book what time the excursion will be...not big fans of having to be up and out super early when on vacation...LOL
