Sadly I went with the most expensive option for the internet.   Also no TV channels ship wide.  I like to watch the news in the morning.

Then that is unacceptable.  I know that the regular internet can be spotty but you would think that the best package would be better.  On the Seashore in Dec and June 22, we did not have any issue with the internet speeds

Well there was a 'curfuffle' last night in the Yacht Club Restaurant. It would appear that certain people can and do intimidate their way into the YC restaurant for lobster night and are not charged for the privilege. A group of 19 took up 3 tables, 10 of which are understood to have cabins in the YC the other 9 had cabins on deck 9 ?  Just pointing out that many report this never happens. It in no way affected us and we have not 'heard' if any YC guest was disturbed by this.

To me this is sad to see, if this was the case why would the YC restaurant manager allow this?

I  did as well. Also lobster tails prepared to order at the seafood extravaganza on the YC pool deck.

They did not have this on our mid June sailing but did in December.  Glad to see it is back

I find the OP's situation interesting since we had a related issue happen to us with an Oceania cruise (disembarkation port was moved 1500 miles only 3 weeks before the cruise).  I do not see it as "business as usual" and it truly sucks.  In the case of the OP's cruise it appears that MSC simply changed several itineraries with very little warning.  The changes do not look to be caused by COVID because they are still visiting most of the same countries.

When Oceania pulled this kind of thing on us we simply cancelled and demanded a full refund.  "O" wanted to only give us a future cruise credit which we would not accept.  In the USA we do have some protection when we use major credit cards (as a general rule a vendor much deliver the product that has been purchased) so we wrote a letter to "O" explaining that we wanted our money back or would file a "credit card charge-back request."  "O" quickly granted our request and did refund our money within days.  As to the airlines, we had booked flights with Delta using miles.  Once Delta understood our situation, they generously offered to refund all of our miles and related fees.

I do not know the exact rights the OP has in their country, but have been led to believe that Europe has even stronger consumer laws than here in the USA.  So perhaps the OP might want to cancel and use the system to get a refund.  The bottom line is that the OP is not getting the product that was purchased!  While port cancellations or changes are part of the cruise world, changing dates and embarkation/debarkation ports is not a norm.  Consider if a person booked a cruise in the Med and the cruise line decided to change it to a South America cruise!  Folks would argue that is not the same cruise.  The situation here is similar.

IT may not be the Norm but it is not limited to MSC.  All cruise lines make these type of changes maybe on a very rare occasion but they still do.

Once again, MSC is consistent in their inconsistency. On my last 2 MSC cruises (March and June), everything was replaced at no charge. Actually, we got extra (2 at a time) Toblerone and Pringles and were never charged. Granted, we have 2 children so that might be a factor.

I think it is the butler as well.  Our butler was okay but certainly did not go above and beyond

  6. I can answer your first question.  Only the snacks are once and done.  As for the beers, waters, sodas in the refrigerator, they were replaced as consumed.  They do not have diet coke in the refrigerator but they had coke zero. I just asked if they could make sure a few diet cokes were in there each day.  They are very accommodating, you just need to ask.  What I do is I write out a note on the first day and review with the butler things that we would like.  Extra towels each day, a lounger for the balcony, diet coke in the refrigerator.  Its works great.

  7. I agree about the elevators.  I know there are some reviews were people post they think the wait time is long.  I agree there are times when it might be a little longer than normal.  However, once in you don't stop at a lot of floors before your designation making the ride quicker.  Also, we only found a couple of times were the wait seemed a bit longer.

I was one of those people.

    Unfortunately,I now have 4 booked.

Only different thing is they all are with a TA.

Already had several issues, but TA dealt with it.

I love the product, hate IT and CS.

I agree love the product especially the YC, but the IT and customer service are horrible.

Not trying to offend you, but I am curious.  I understand you had a bad customer service experience on Seaside back in late 2017 or early 2018, and that you swore off of MSC from that point on.  Why then, would you continue to be active on the MSC forum pages some four plus years later?  Is it curiosity on your part to see if MSC CS experience has improved, or is it a sort of attempt at misery loves company?  Personally, I had a bad CS experience six years ago on an unnamed cruise line with a distinctive red funnel.  I posted about my experience on the cruise line's forum page.  I have not been back on the site again, since I will no longer sail on them.

There are several people in this forum that have swore off MSC for one reason or another.  Yet, most not only continue to post, they continue to sail.  If I truly was so upset with something, I would never use it again.

  10. Here were my observations when I compare December to June.  And I want to preface this by saying we are not people that require a lot.  We do not make a lot of requests.  Also, we loved both cruises and the service was good in June.

We found our butler in December was just more attentive.  Our butler in June was decent but we did need sometimes to remind her of something.  For example, in December we wrote a note for the butler incase we did not see them that we would like Diet Coke in the refrigerator instead of coke zero, we would like a lounger for the balcony, and we would like 4 of each towel.  We never had to ask again.  In June, we did the same thing but we had to ask for diet coke a couple of time since it wouldn't be replaced sometimes.  And we had to ask for more then the 2 towels several times.  One day we had no wash cloths and had to call the concierge to ask for them at 12 am.   Our butler was always available to escort us to dinner in December and in June she told us each day to meet her in the Top sail lounge and she would take us up but only 50% of the time did she actually meet us there.  Now I do not need the escort but in December it just happened in June half the time.  Now this could very well be a product of a full YC versus a 70% full YC in December.  It was just the attentiveness that was missing.

The YC restaurant service.  The dinner service was very good and our waiters were very nice.  I thought the December waiters were a little more talkative but the service was great both times.  The issue was the breakfast service was not very good.  We normally had to ask for bread/pastries in June where in December they came without asking.  The main issue was the first 2 days for our party of 4 something was wrong our missing from each order.  We did talk to the manager and things got better the rest of the trip mainly because he switched us to a different side.  But it still wasn't as attentive as the December trip.

Now it all could have been capacity related but for us there was a difference in service.  It was great in December and good in June.  I still would highly recommend this ship and the YC.

  11. In 18003, you really get no foot traffic from the restaurant and that is the opposite side of the entrance.   However, I do like the starboard side because of the view of Ocean Cay.  The light show is ok but nothing to book a room around.  Of those rooms, I would take 18003

  12. I was told by the Casino Department when I said I would have my travel partner apply for a status match and then add her voyagers number that currently the status match on the website is not working properly and to try after July 1st.  Who know if that is true as we all know sometimes the reps get it wrong.

To those coming onto Seashore YC, ask for Ana. She is a dynamo and very very good at her job. She handles many cabins but she makes you feel like you are her only cabin. She is like an energizer bunny.

I can not agree with this more.  While she was not our butler (I wish she was) she was always around and always checking in with every guest.  While I found the service overall in the YC to be a level below what we had in December, she was one that was equal to the service we received in December.

I have. There were some weird "pending" amounts that didn't correspond with any purchases but in the end, there was only 1 charge for the exact amount. I kept a running total for everything purchased onboard and since the credit card registered onboard had a zero balance before the cruise, I know that everything is correct....for now. 😊

This also happened to me on my cruise 2 weeks ago.  Some of the pending amounts I just could not figure out but on the last day they charged the correct amount.  Now the weird thing and I don't think it has anything to do with MSC but my BOA credit card still has all the pending items still in pending 16 days later.
