Also, don't forget about the happy hour double point special. If you are going to only play a little play during that time and get more points.

Thank you for your advise. I can see where YC is very advantages to you. I would not require some of the services YC provides. Now I will take this information and use it to determine my final decision.
Thank you all again.
Stay Safe and Happy Cruising!I am not sure but you might lose your OBC if you upgrade. If you did that would be an added cost

The service level is what makes the Yacht Club special. I love having the private restaurant and the butler and concierge to handle anything for you. You do get unlimited use of the thermal area and someone to escort you off the ship at ports. If your cruise includes Ocean Cay, you get the private YC area. Very nice. The beach area in the water is a bit rocky but the service and the food is great.
For me if it was $1,600 to get a balcony YC room but $1,600 for an inside I'm not sold.

We're not on board until Friday @4 cruisers, but i think we're going to make it. Daughter was another faint line today. She tested again a few hours later and it came up negative. Have to see how it looks, but she has until Wednesday or Thursday at the very latest. I think we're gonna make it!!!!!!!
I had 2 days of a faint line and then after 11 days since first test I tested negative so I think it is a good sign.

Looks like we got the upgrade email this morning.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Your offer to upgrade your stateroom on your upcoming cruise has been accepted.
Congrats, that's great. You will love the Yacht Club. Enjoy

I read this yesterday but did not have the time to post. This by far is one of the most selfish things I have read on this message board. This can not be real. I can not believe that someone thinks that it is not a big deal to ask a stranger to switch rooms. If I was the person being asked to move I would say no I am happy with the room I have.

Her test may not necessarily be negative. When I had it in December, it took about 17 days to test negative. My work had me test every 2 days.
I am curious to see if anyone had experience with this

Hi Paphill-
You mentioned APP, hopefully you are not using the APP to check in.
you should check in from the URL on a windows computer, using Firefox as the browser...works like a charm.
Cheers!
I tried Firefox and I get the same error when attempting to check in. I try in windows explorer - error and I tried goggle - error. I was curious if the app worked - error. The people we are traveling with they get the same result when they try to do the same with their reservation. I will call to check in if it does not fix itself in a week or 2. We are about 30 days out.
NM, Just curious why do you suggest not checking in on the APP?

Now I get an error on the APP, when trying to access check in. It is ridiculous

It's not just IT that is horrible.
The CS is even worse.
I have not had the issues you have had with customer service.

For an excursion in Mexico since they had professional photographers, you were not allowed to bring your cameras/phones. Of course the pics were quite pricy.

I know I had read last week regarding check in issue online. It seems these continue as I tried to check in this morning and received an error. Anyone else in the same boat. It does seem like the App is working. I say it every time there is an IT issue but it really does amaze that a company this size has such horrible IT. Logging on and having my booking come up as not found everyday has become acceptable to me and that is just ridiculous.

The other issue that we had when we checked in last December was that they did not have us on the manifest for the ship and it was a nightmare. It took almost an hour before we could even get on the ship.

As an aside to the OP, you are going to love the Yacht Club and the Seashore

I have always boarded early but I think that is not enough time. That is assuming everything goes according to plan. You might hit traffic which we did and it added 20 mins. I would be a nervous wreck.
-
With the YC, just go to the White tent at anytime after 10. They do not even check your boarding time.

Just make sure to check out what is included as the package deal menus are limited to certain items

As of the last sailing people confirmed, there was no smoking in the casino. We were on in Dec 2021 and there was no smoking in the casino. Not sure if they are going to reinstate this or not.

Well it seems we did receive point as of this morning. Not quite sure how the calculated them. I got 1,100 points but my husband that had less charged to his account got 2,400 points and moved to a higher level.

Tell them to refund the port fees if you "did not sail". 😉
This is a good idea and I will add in there. I see all these charges from MSC from 12/4 - 12/12 but I did not sail. Better yet just call my Amex and dispute the charges since I did not sail.

I have posted on here a couple of times about my frustration in getting points for my December trip add to my account. As a point of background my husband and I traveled on the Seashore in December. It was a fantastic trip and we loved the ship. We did have an issue at check in as they did not have our room keys or any information on us when we got to check in. They said we were marked as no shows. This was odd because I had checked in online and had all of the required paperwork and tickets from checking in online. Luckily we were in the Yacht Club and after an hour we were on board and able to get in our room. It did take a day to get everything sorted out.
So, in Early January I realized that our points for our trip were never added. I called and was told to email which I did several times over the next month and only received the automated message. Then I saw on here someone recommended emailing every day which I started to do in mid march. WE finally received a reply yesterday from my email on 4/26/22 the day prior. Where all of the other emails went who knows. Their response was "after a thorough review it is determined that no points are due as you were a NO SHOW for your cruise" They went on to say since we did not sail, we do not get points. I am not very irate. I even explained in my original email that we had issues at the port. They did no research. They said if I had any issues to call. Which I did and it was again the basic customer service who said they could not help me I would have to email.
I loved the ship and the service on board but the land based customer service is absolutely horrid. As most already know.
So I replied to the email with scans of the final bills we received on board and even the note from the concierge apologizing for the issues at embarkation.
I know that missing points aren't the end of the world but it is now a matter of principal.

I usually avoid from commenting but I see this type of post and it really gets to me. You booked a guarantee and you then are unhappy with your room. You booked the guarantee for a reason mainly to save money. If you are that concerned with your possible location then pay the additional money and get the location you want.

Please are selfish and I would report it immediately to the staff and let them handle it. It is disrespectful and dangerous.
