  1. We ate at Emeril's on Celebration for lunch. My son had the shrimp scampi and it came in a cast iron skillet. I had the bbq shrimp and I think that came on a plate, maybe? So we didn't have the same problem you had. I agree the beignets were to die for.
  2. It was my first time and I thought it was fantastic. The food was delicious. The table where they put the food together was behind me so I didn't see much. I imaging if you were on the other side you would be able to see everything.
  3. Here is the menu and a few pictures from the Chef’s Table on Carnival Celebration.
  4. We purchased a carryon suitcase and our sodas go in there. One 12 pack per person so we always bring 3.
  5. Your idea about point value for the room may have merit. I have been in everything but a suite and it is only because I don't see the advantage. There are really no perks that come with it worth the extra money to me. Now about the loyalty program. l feel like I have been gold forever! Like literally forever!!!! I don't think taking 6 points from gold and creating emerald where the time is even longer before moving up is the answer. Like 79 points, what???? I agree that there should be something between gold and Platinum (After I personally have reached Platinum only 😜). Maybe: Blue: First Sailing Red: 2-30 Points Gold: 31-70 Points Emerald: 71-110 Points Ruby: 111-199 Points Platinum: 200 - 299 Diamond: 300+ I think that the pin at Gold, free laundry should start at Emerald, 3 free drinks a day at Ruby ( and do away with the party with free drinks), a free specialty meal at Platinum (do away with the lunch), and a nice gift at diamond. That's my thought.
  6. I have never been on the Sunrise- so I don't know anything about it. Why not try the newer ships like Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras. I think you will find a big difference and may enjoy these ships more.
  7. I'm sorry I have to disagree with this. We went on Mardi Gras in October 2021 and Celebration November 2022 and both were beautifully laid out. I loved Grand Central and all of the shows they have there. The layout was easy enough to navigate. Loved all on the different areas from Summer Landing to the Magnolia area. The kids program on Carnival are amazing and the Dr Suess Breakfast is back. They have a kids splash area and tons of water slides. Everything was running when we went, nothing was shut down. When did you sail? Must have been a storm in the area- if so it would affect any ship that was in the area the same way. We actually just did this last month. We went to Disney for 4 days and then went on the Carnival Celebration. It was the best trip that we have taken to date.
  8. The thing with royal and comedy is they don't have a PG show everyday like Carnival. I believe they do one PG show (if memory serves). My son loves the comedy show so we would go just about every night on our Carnival cruise along with the nightly movies on deck. We missed this when we were on Royal (Allure, Symphony, Independence, and Mariner). I have never been on Odyssey so don't know if it is different. The amount of different included food options are amazing on Mardi Gras. Also, in my opinion (food is subjective) the food on Carnival is better than royal.
  9. Celebration did not have it on our Nov 27 cruise. I was looking forward to it
  10. We are talking about when you book online not when you call. When you book online they don't send you a confirmation only a receipt of your deposit.
  11. I tried calling last week and they said the wait time was 2 hours so I did the call back option. I wanted to book a cruise. I never received a call back. So I went online and booked it myself. I received a confirmation of my deposit but never received a confirmation of the cruise. I don't have how much I owe, room number nothing. Yesterday I called again to see if I could get them to send me a copy and waited 4 hours and 2 min before I hung up, This is ridiculous. I wish I hadn't booked the cruise now.
  12. Our classes just showed up and we sail on Nov 27 on Celebration so it may be too early to see yours. When it does show up it will be under specialty dinning.
  13. What was your favorite item on the menu at Rudi's. We are going on the Celebration next month and wanted to try something different from what I had on the Mardi Gras.
  14. Hey! I am so excited for another one of your reviews. We just went on the Sunshine in June and loved the port being an hour and a half away. She is an older ship but we had fun. I hope y'all enjoyed your cruise.
  15. This is what I used to do to stay on budget. However, if you don't spend it all I would stand in a long line at the end of the cruise to get my money back. This was a pain and if I wanted a coffee in the morning or decided I wanted a drink later I couldn't. That was enough to push me towards using a credit card. They say that if you don't spend it all and you don't go to customer service they will send you a check. I didn't trust it, didn't do it so don't know how or if that works.
  16. Do you mind me asking when your next cruise is? Can't wait for another review.
  17. I thought they would have it available to book by now. They have to have time to fill the ships. Carnival has come out to say that people are booking like crazy. Maybe they are waiting for it to calm down a bit and then they will post it. They may not be able to handle the volume with people without the vaccine being able to book and then the Costa ships too?
  18. I have the positive test result too. I thought I had to have both.
