Prices have been trending up but so has everything else. My last trip to one of the top FL beaches cost me $180 a night for the condo plus out of pocket for all food and activities making a cruise seem a bargain.
But don't forget, the condo is per night, the cruise is per person.

I'm on the sept 3rd sailing and my original itinerary let me book ROA and CIRQUE at 63 days out. today I checked both and only ROA is cancelled. I saw it last year but this year traveling with our group of 3 twenty year old daughters and they wanted to see it. They probably wont like burn the floor as much.
I'm on the same sailing and ROA is still on myNCL.

Just curious. I see so many posts stating get your pass early because of the limited number available. How late has anyone been able to acquire a pass, especially in the past year or so?

Hard boiled eggs. Not because of the taste. It offends one of my wife's other senses.

wondering if anyone knows what the choice dining credit is. I didn't know I had it. We received a &25 pp credit and are wondering if it for any venue. Gelato? Pastry? Or just specific restaurants. Thanks for any feedback.

Hi Cruisecritic friends,
Looking at D227 and D629 balcony cabins for our July Cruise trip. No luck with the port side cabins at the sale price.
Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of these two rooms? This would be first time on Princess.
Have cruised before long time back.
Thanks much.
We're booked in D227 on Coral in June so we were glad to follow Colo Cruiser's link. Thanks for posting.

In Ketchikan, we did a floatplane with Island Wings. It was the highlight of our trip. Very scenic, they landed us in the middle of nowhere in the middle of a small lake. We exited onto a small island to stretch our legs and take pics. The silence was amazing. We would do it again in a heartbeat.

We've cruised Carnival, Disney, Norwegian, Princess, RCCL and Celebrity. While we really like RCCL ships, they have really upped their prices too much in our view. We switched to Celebrity and enjoy the small differences like smoke free casinos and soft drinks by the can instead of refillable cups. We still like RCCL ships but will stay with Celebrity for the value.

Booking a balcony on our first cruise was the biggest mistake my wife and I ever made on a vacation. Now we can only book balcony, which limits the number of cruise due to the added expense.

Thanks for the observations. We will be on the Reflection in November. Our first cruise on Celebrity was this past January ( Constellation ). We loved it which is why we opted for our upcoming cruise. Funny you should mention the
wait staff clearing drinks too soon. While this did not happen to us, we did hear people complain a few times that their drinks had been taken away while they were away from the table.

Never had a problem with lack of bacon but, unlike most here, I like my bacon to bend. No crispy for me.

Just off the Oasis. In fact, still at the airport waiting for our flights. Re: Windjammer - we never found it hard to find a seat, but we always eat at "off" times. The only problem we had with the food was that it was not hot. It wasn't cold, but definitely needed to be hotter. There was always a good variety.

Well I could sort of say that, too.
Except that our Disney cruises are 3 or 4 nights.
Our Royal cruises were 5 and 7 nights.
Bit of a value difference there.
We will only cruise DCL if we get a decent price, though. So our cruise prices aren't necessarily indicative of all DCL cruises, since we are self-selecting out of the insanely priced ones.
I agree. Disney prices are substantially higher. I have yet to see a DCL cruise
at even close the price of RCCL for similar cabins. Don't get me wrong, I would love to give Disney a second try. Just not at their inflated prices.

We have sailed Disney many times and I have to say I have not paid any more for Disney than I am paying for our Allure cruise in December. :D
I find that very hard to believe if you are sailing the same category cabin on both lines. Just a quick look at Disney and Allure this December shows similar cruise and cabin costs $1300 more pp on Disney v Allure.

Wow. You already received two replies before I could type mine.

The cup will be in your stateroom. If you board before the cabins are ready, you can still get a soda at any bar by showing your sea pass card.

We are huge Disney fans. Having said that, Disney is toward the bottom of our list for cruising. We cruised Disney once and found the experience disappointing. Don't get me wrong - we enjoyed the cruise, but it was not as well organized as RCCL or Princess. We put it on par with Carnival or NCL, not our preferred lines. When we add in the extra cost for Disney, they fall even further down on our list. We did think their private island was the best we've been on, though.
-
We are obviously in the minority here, but we prefer RCCL over Disney. We found the service on DCL far worse than RCCL. The MUCH higher cost is not justified by fireworks and free pop. That's right, I'm from the the North. We don't say soda here.

The amount paid is for the duration of your cruise. "Duration" is the time remaining. If you purchase your plan on your last day, the duration of your cruise is one day - $24 (or whatever). That is why they say "starting at" or "from". We always bought the 60 minute plan because 10 minutes a day was plenty for us to check our email. I assume these blocks of minutes are no longer available. Anyone know if this is the case?
-
We've been on Carnival, Princess, NCL and Disney. We always come back to Royal, though. They seem more organized than the others. If we are staying on board or have many sea days, we'll stick with Royal, but some other lines have more desirable itineraries (for us). Did anyone else try to kill the bug on Zigybean's post?
-
I know the feeling all too well. We have not been on Royal Caribbean since Jan 09 because of a " misunderstanding". We finally decided to try the Oasis this August. Meanwhile, we have cruised five times on other lines and were able to experience what they have to offer. The service on board has always been fantastic but poor customer service off the ship ended up costing RCCL those five cruises (x 2) plus possible future cruises. They really do need to work on that aspect of the organization.

We get the soda package since we aren't big drinkers. There are some nights when I will have a few beers and my wife might have a couple of specialty drinks, but nothing that would justify a drink package. We haven't been on RC for five years and it used to be everyone in the cabin had to get the same package. When did this change? I might have to rethink things.

Temple1, bringing your own Peanut M&M's on board? Isn't that a "me first attitude" type of thing? LOL
Chocolate milk
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
I love my chocolate milk at breakfast. I will usually take a carton back to my cabin and keep in the fridge for later when they run out. And drvalo is correct, they almost always run out.
