    1. Sheraton Day Pass

Transportation: Taxi ($15 each way) or Jitney ($1-2pp; exact change only)

    2 General Options:

Option A: $99 which includes a room for 2 guests (7am-7pm); +$10pp additional person (up to 2). Can be purchased upon arrival or reserved in advance. Contact (242) 327-6000.

Can anyone speak to what the OP refers to as Sheraton option A (the room for a day)? Does this option still exist after the change to Melia?
  2. Sorry, but I can't ease your fears.. it's the height of spring break and a weekend. Hilton usually has several "events" and wedding going on during the weekend, so it would be hit or miss.

I'd look into pre purchasing your pass if this is your first choice.

As for Melia.. the grounds and beach are pretty big and can usually handle the crowds.. but again. No guarantee. The thing with Melia is that it's next door to the Wyndham, so you can always go there if there sold out.

Personally, I wouldn't want to be on a property that was sold out or restricted. Too crowded.

Wow! That was fast. Thanks!! So, I know I have the option with both of these to buy passes in advance, but it would stink to lose $ if it is raining. . . Any other suggestions?

  3. Hi all,

Could anyone (i.e. Scubagirl :)) speak to the availability of passes mid-day? Our ship gets in around noon on a Saturday in March. We are 2 couples. I am a bit worried that the Hilton or Melia might be sold out. Any tips? Ease my fears? Alternatives? Thanks for any and all help.

  4. Have your parents text you if they need to get a hold of you. They can contact you for free on AT&T via text message. When you receive a text, you can either respond with a text message for 50 cents, or call them for $1 a minute with the $30 AT&T plan.

Do not forget to turn of cellular data while on the ship. That can get very expensive!

Thanks for the tips! I think we will get the plan for $30- gives me 50 included messages, overages at $1 per minute. I LOVE that incoming texts are free and outgoing are only .50 or 1.30 for a pic/vid.

  5. Hi all,

I will be headed on a 3 night Enchantment cruise in less than a month. I would have loved to purchase one of the alcoholic beverages packages this time around, but have read that the cruise must be 4 nights or longer. That is a bummer for me. That said, I am wondering if there are any ways to get discounted drinks outside of the package? I know one of these ways is the cooler of beer but does anyone have any other tips for a 3 night cruise? Thanks!

  6. The other benefit of using the AT&T Plan in the Caribbean is that any calls that you make while in port are covered by the plan so you get the same, discounted, rate for these calls, texts, data. (Note: If your cruise calls on Puerto Rico, St Thomas, or any of the other US Virgin Islands, your phone is considered to be "home" and calls are covered by your normal plan. the calls are not international!). Note, you must make at least one call, text, or something onboard prior to arriving at your first port to get these rates !

Thanks Steve! You addressed my point of concern in all this. We will be taking a 3 night Bahamas cruise on Enchantment and need to be reachable. Correct me if I am wrong, by buying this package we will be covered under it on board, in Nassau and CocoKey, as long as we make a call on board that first night? Thanks so much for your help.

  7. I am trying to wrap my head around how cell phone use works. We need to be available this time around and haven't used it before. From what I understand, the ship's service turns off in port and you can use the local signal. That said, does anyone know what happens at CocoKey?

  8. not a fridge, a cooler at best.

hair dryer should be in the drawer at the desk where the lighted makeup mirror is. I never use it as I have short thin air that can be towel dried in 30 seconds. some people with long or thick hair suggest it is not all that powerful.

Spookwife, would you mind also answer these:

Is there room under the bead to put suitcases?

What do they provide in terms of shampoo and soap?

    How many outlets are avail?

    Thanks so much.

  9. Forgot to add = it was 30 per person for adults and 15 for child- It came to 82 for the three of us. You could pay more and have lunch included.

Thanks for that info!! Having such a hard time choosing between that and the Hilton. Out ship gets in at noon. Do you think we will have a problem getting passes during spring break that late in the day?
