Lunch when you 1st. Get on the ship.
SeekingKillerWhales! replied to TORQ's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
There is always (in my limited experience) a dining room open, although the crew may say there is not, and herd you towards the buffet. But our arrival tradition is get on early and go relax with a nice lunch in the main dining room. We grab a nice cocktail or soda on our way in, and enjoy! When you get on ask "Which is serving lunch - Savor, Taste, or the Manhattan Room?" -

Simple questions in using the Starbucks package
SeekingKillerWhales! replied to dmwnc1959's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Yes, but remember you have to finish the drink before you disembark. They will not allow you to carry a drink off. -
I was on the Sun in August, so not a Breakaway class ship, but I will never do the 5th floor again. Very loud engine noise. We like low as possible for motion sickness avoidance, but I will never book without cabins both below and above me. It was unrelenting. Still a great cruise, but that was the one mar.

I forget how picky Dali can be about storing pics. Anyway, this was in response to the comment about not seeing bears and raccoons in thongs in the nationals parks. Hopefully this picture sticks, because it was one of my better AI efforts. 🙂

Is there any chance you are travel in one of the "solo" cabins? If so, you have access to the Studio Lounge which has an espresso machine and makes things like cappuccinos. (No idea of quality.) All included with solo rooms. That's what I'm doing because I can't drink $13 worth of coffee per day, and I'm pretty much a non-drinker at this point. If I decide I need Starbucks or a Mudslide or a soda, I'll just buy them, but most of my coffee needs, and thus most of my needs, are met. (Another benefit to being single and not willing to share with others. :D) Have a blast!

Hi Everyone: There is a group of us singletons planning a trip on the Getaway, and right now we have 5 studio cabins booked. However, the solo balcony is a really good deal and I am tempted to book one instead. But would I still have access to be with my friends in the studio lounge? I.e. would my card allow me in the lounge? I've read conflicting reports, so I thought I'd bring it to the experts! All advice/knowledge gratefully accepted. Susan

Any Upgrade Bids Accepted Recently?
SeekingKillerWhales! replied to rad798's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Sorry about your loss and the missing of the cruise. 😞 -
How does the complimentary ice cream work? Well, the first day it doesn't seem like it does. The second day you realize it is hard at work when it takes a little more effort to get your pants buttoned. By day four it is hard at work expanding your lower stomach and equalizing that increase through your hips. And finally, in an extreme burst of productivity, it settles into the space below your chin where it lingers for weeks after you return home. It continues its hard work, until you massively step up your workload. A very efficient worker bee that doesn't "cost" you a dime. 😉

If you stay at the Edgewater you can fish out of your room. Just like those four long-haired Brits did back in the 60's. -
Because people might want a removable tag holder. I was just making an observation from looking at the product.
-
I just got the vinyl tags in the mail for an 8/25 cruise, as did many others on the cruise. They are nice. Note the Amazon holders only fits the printed version, not the ones they send you.

Really looking forward to this one! We're on the Sun in August. Know it probably won't be available in time, but will happily read when it's available. And thanks for all the food porn! 10 days of not caring what I eat and I can hardly wait. (And, oh yeah I can't cook, so a variety of food is a wonder!) Love your reviews and happy sailing! And wave if you are ever in Aberdeen!

I think most people would, but the two people I am traveling with in August and myself all selected inside rooms on the lowest possible floor as close to the center of the boat as possible, to avoid sea sickness. Swaying that high up would have us all green all the time. 😄 (I'm the least susceptible so will take a higher room if one of us gets moved.) And someone else mentioned being close to the buffet - I find seven flights of stairs (we don't use the elevator) a great incentive against late night snacking! 😉 OP - I hope you have a blast and the room works out great for you!
