  1. If you have a travel agent you could ask them to find out which credits are combinable. If not you contacting Seabourn directly to ask, but considering the experience you just had, there are no guaranties on the accuracy of any response. You can definitely ask at Seabourn Square after you board.
  2. You might or might not have quite as much credit as you listed. Last time I had what I thought was both a promotional credit from Seabourn and a referral credit I found out they were not combinable. I only got the higher amount of the two
  3. I boarded the Ovation on January 7th in Barbados and no one looked at my boarding time or my papers. They asked our name and cabin, looked us up, and escorted us on ship. I did not use the paper luggage tags, either. They put on tags when we arrived at the port.
  4. We are currently in Barbados waiting to board the Ovation tomorrow. We were pleasantly surprised on our arrival yesterday to be greeted by people holding Seabourn signs who guided us through fast track immigration control, even though we had not booked our air travel through Seabourn nor paid for the fast track service. This let us avoid a line containing three planes’ worth of people. Of course, while we didn’t need to wait in the frustratingly long line, it was all for nought since our one piece of checked luggage was one of the last to come down the belt, along with several other people’s priority tagged luggage,
  5. I agree that it can be hit or miss. In one cruise, the announcement was left out of the Herald, but we had been told about it, however only three of us showed up, so they were grabbing people walking near the meeting point and convincing them to join us. On another cruise, I found out only because I asked the chef about it when I saw him in the dining room. Once again, it never appeared in the Herald, but somehow the tour was full. As it turned out, the chef had to take a tour with a marketing group, so a Thomas Keller representative who was on the ship to make sure that TK was being operated as required, took us on the shopping tour. He was great. We saw the chef at the open air market with the marketing group, photographers and a group of models posing as passengers because we, the actual passengers, weren't good looking enough.
  6. Sorry, I hit enter before I had typed my post. I started to say that I am really getting psyched for my cruise that leaves Saturday. I used to cruise once or twice a year but this is my first cruise since the pandemic hit. Anyway, I am now posting a variety of questions. This time, I was wondering if anyone knows if they are still doing shopping with the chef. If so, has anyone had recent experience as to where they might go in the Caribbean. Also, is it still just listed in the online Herald? And, what time does the Herald become available for the following day? Thanks for any info.
  7. I am chiming in on jeans. I fit, by age, in the grandma demographic, although I have no kids or grandkids, am still quite active and well traveled, and I am taking classes at the local university. I wear jeans most days. I rarely go out to dinner in jeans, except to the most casual restaurants. I will follow that habit on Seabourn, wearing jeans, or shorts since I will be in the Caribbean, during the day, and nicer slacks or a dress in the evening. I see nothing wrong with jeans at any time before 6:00 pm, and this is also in keeping with Seabourn's prior guidelines, even before the change.
  8. Just checking again to see if people recently have still been able to board prior to the boarding time assigned by Seabourn. Since even with a late checkout we will be evicted from our hotel well in advance of our assigned time, we would really like to board earlier. In the alternative, has anyone had success with having their travel agent contact Seabourn to revise the time?

    Soap

I remember reading somewhere on this Board that a choice of soaps is no longer offered by your stewardess upon embarkation. While I will miss having a choice, that's okay, as long as some bar soap is available. At a recent stay at a Four Seasons only bath gel and liquid hand soap were offered. I prefer bar soap in the shower and just want to make sure that some bar soap is still provided, especially since Seabourn has now gone to the larger containers of other toiletries. If bar soap is not provided I will have to bring my own. Thanks.
  10. And for me, the only preferences I can choose are my Seabourn Club perks, not my pillow or drink set up preferences.
  11. Are people who are more than 2weeks out able to see their TK reservations on Seabourn Source and, if so, can you tell me where the reservation appears. I have clicked through everything and cannot find it.
  12. Okay, I was able to open the Seabourn Source app finally but there is nowhere to check or book dining reservations. Nothing at all shows in my account and if I click on TK in the dining box it just takes me to the menu. Excursions also don’t show up to book - I have none booked but it doesn’t show as an option. The only thing available is the ability to book spa treatments.
  13. I would love to check my reservation on the Seabourn Source App but it will not let me log in on either my iphone or my ipad. I have tried with both my Club number and email address and I know my password is correct because it works on the website. I keep getting different error messages.
  14. Skybluewaters, it is interesting that Seabourn told you the reservations were not gone, whereas the response did not mention that it still might be in the records. We will just have to see when we board.
  15. It is interesting that it appears many people have this problem. I do not have confirming email because it used to show in my purchases. I may try and go to the Grill when I board and get on a waiting list, but as I said originally, it will not be a big deal for me if I can't eat at TK on this cruise. In my opinion, it is nicer on the bigger ships than on the Odyssey class ships, but I usually book just for some variety, rather than because I find the meal or experience so much better. In fact, as I have posted elsewhere before, I have been put off in the past by the wine upsell. On a seven day cruise, with the main dining room, the Colonnade, sushi and Earth and Ocean I will have plenty of choices and variety.
  16. I will be on the Ovation in The Caribbean in January. I booked this cruise about a year and a half ago and booked my Thomas Keller reservation shortly thereafter. It showed up in my cruise booking after I booked it but I never bothered to check later. Yesterday, as the cruise is finally approaching and I am thinking about it again, I looked at my booking. Not only does the reservation not appear but since the website would allow me to make a new booking (only 6:15 and 6:45 on the last night of the crise remain) I realized my booking had been deleted. I contacted Seabourn guest relations. Surprisingly, considering what I have read on these boards, someone got back to me the same day, but all they said was that the reservation could have been deleted as part of the website redo and there was nothing they could do. they simply offered me the two times I saw as still being available on line, neither of which is acceptable. I will check when I get on board but I am only on for seven days so I am not sure I will get anything. Luckily, I have been to TK several times already, and while it can be nice to try once a cruise, especially on a longer cruise, I will not be crushed if I do not eat there on this cruise. Still, Seabourn really dropped the ball on this, so this is long winded way of advising everyone to check their upcoming cruises for their reservations.
  17. I celebrated my birthday on board once and they gave me a bottle of wine which was off their reserve list. I also came back to my cabin to discover a couple of balloons inside as well as a small cake. But, I think it can vary depending on the staff.
  18. Thanks for all the info. I think I will pack some packets. If you can get the sweetener by opening up the dispenser, I can deal with that to avoid the paper waste and blowing. If it is totally inaccessible, than I will use my packets. Plus, I have recently switched from preferring Splenda to Stevia, so I wonder if they have that.
  19. I know I have read somewhere recently on this forum about the new sugar dispensers and people's frustration with them. I think there was a mention of fake sugar (otherwise known as Splenda, Stevia, Equal, etc.) but I can't remember the details. I thought I read that one of those was also available in the new containers but I can't remember what it was. Certainly, they can't have containers with all options available. Just trying to find out if I have to being my own packet along. My husband will manage to deal with the sugar dispenser. Any info would be appreciated.
  20. Catlover54, we were also in Australia in March 2020, one week into a three week trip, when we had to fly home. Our travel agent had arranged an itinerary for us, but we booked our own business class air. Because of that, even though we had used her for cruises for about 20 years, and had booked the itinerary thru her, she abandoned us in our attempt to get home. Nine hours on hold with Qantas, eventually giving up and going to the airport to talk to an agent, and $4,000 in change fees later, we got back to LA, then booked further home to DC. or that, and other reasons, we are now using a new agent.
