by shorts I hope you mean  pressed/pleated belted shorts and not any sort of  basketball or  gym  gear.

Wrong. Just got off the Freedom. No problem with nice shorts in any restaurant, specialty or not.

  2. Same thing with the 10/28 sailing. Only 3 scuba diving excursions have been listed for St Kitts so far as our date. I was thinking of a Marriot Day Pass but not sure what condition the beach is in there.

    ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING TRAVELS

    Dear Guest,

We have one update to share with you for your October 28th, 2018 Freedom of the Seas’ Southern Caribbean cruise.

Due to delays with the pier construction in Kralendijk, Bonaire, instead we’ll visit the highly rated island of Basseterre, St. Kitts & Nevis on Monday, October 29th from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience this change causes, nevertheless you’ll have a wonderful experience in Basseterre. While there, take a hike up the Mount Liamuiga trail, and head to The Strip on South Frigate Bay for an authentic & local meal. Whatever you do, we’re sure you’ll have an awesome time!

Lastly, all Royal Caribbean International shore excursions scheduled for Bonaire will be refunded to your original form of payment. You’ll receive an email from our Shore Excursion Department within the next two business days sharing your refund details. In the meantime, we welcome you to check out our Cruise Planner page at http://*****/RCCruisePlanner to book excursions for Basseterre that interest you!

Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to welcoming you onboard the beautiful Freedom of the Seas!

    Sincerely,

    Royal Caribbean International

  3. Just off of the Allure...I had expedited checkin. There will be a big sign outside the terminal marked as expedited. Go there and there will be hosts with Ipads that will meet you at the door. They will scan your seapass and passport. Thats it. Again this was at Fort Lauderdale and it was the easiest check in ever. I assume everyone in your group should be covered with your seapass since you are in the cabin together.

  4. I always find a seat as close to the back of the theater as possible, hopefully on the aisle. Because trust me, if I dont like the show I am not wasting my time watching it. I doubt the performers lose any sleep if they happen to see an old fat guy like me leave! I do research up front and if it is something I am not interested in, I wont take up a seat in the first place. Example: Brat Pack. I was a big fan of the Hughes movies. But something just hit me wrong when they started throwing the F word around so casually in the performance. I am not a prude but I simply said to myself, this one is not for me. Not being judgemental at all. It is fine if folks liked that and stayed to hear more. Wow, I do sound so prudish. I guess age has something to do with that. Over that 60 year hump.

(and yes I knew the play was adult with adult language when I went in)

  5. My son and I took this excursion on the Harmony last August and THOROUGHLY enjoyed it. The resort is a few miles from the port across the street from the airport. First class facility. Beach access and a beautiful pool and grounds. Very friendly staff. The lunch was better than I expected. It was served buffet style under a nice very large wooden shelter overlooking the ocean. Delicious. I can recommend this without hesitation. Wish I could go there during the evening. Very large stage and party area. Cool modern place.

  6. Ok, taking my first comped RCCL cruise on the Allure in August. While I was playing the slots on the Harmony, a casino host came by and slapped a VIP sticker on my cruise card which was good for free drinks in the casino.

Will that still apply on my comped cruise or will I have to "earn" the free drinks again? This will have a big effect on whether I buy a beverage package. Thanks for any info.

  7. they were the perfect midnight snack for me. i too miss them

Check in the casino after 11 pm. (Escape) They put out snacks and finger foods and I have seen the cheese sticks there. Great wings too. My favorite thing was the PBJ sandwiches. (quartered). For some reason that hit the spot! Who would think pbj would taste so good on a ship filled with anything you can think of to eat? The area is hidden away in the corner of the casino but worth finding if you are a late night muncher.

  8. I cruise in 3 weeks. The spa passes never showed up online. I called several weeks back and reserved. They closed the spa the last time I cruised the Escape for maintenance. ERRR! They DID sell spa passes online right up to the day we cruised. Lots of upset folks so maybe they decided to change policy. I fell in love with the spa on my first Escape voyage. So you better call to get them and rest easier.

  9. It's the absolute worst food on the ship. The waiters are understandably miserable. I only go there if the Garden Cafe is closed and nothing else is available.

This goes to show different folks have different opinions. I LOVE OSheehans. One of my favorite venues on any ship I have been on.
