  1. Took the tour on the Getaway 2 years ago. I thought it was worth the money (about 80 pp if I remember correctly)

Go to the guest services desk and they will have the info and dates.

We got to spend a lot of time on the Bridge but I believe NCL has stopped allowing that. Just off of the Harmony of the Seas, took the tour and was allowed on the bridge and engine control room.

  2. I would hope you don't cruise just to use the spa? You are spending much more than necessary if you are!

I certainly dont cruise just to use the spa but it does have a big impact on the ship I book. NCL knows this, therefore they held back the information until after final payment so that it would not impact bookings/price for this sail date. (my opinion only of course)

  3. I am leaving on the Escape when you get back---10/14.

IF you happen to hear anything about what is going on with the Thermal Spa next week please let us know. NCL has been very tight lipped with us as far as why it will be closed during our sailing. Maintenance is all that we have heard. Several of us are very disappointed---the Spa was the main draw for me to book the Escape again.

While I have received a refund for the spa pass that I purchased, NCL is still selling them for our sailing so something just doesnt add up.

Enjoy the cruise and take care of that ship for us! Good luck with the weather. Hope it is perfect for you folks.

  4. Check the Freestyle Dailies for events in the Atrium. (Love and Marriage, Deal or no Deal, Battle of the Sexes, etc) Get there at least 20 minutes early to get decent seats. It is worth it as the shows are very entertaining.

We had a lot of fun at the Spice H2O parties at night. The 80s party was great and we were all singing to the top of our lungs!

OSheehans is open 24/7 and has really good food overall. And there is no charge. Go to the rail that overlooks the Atrium events below and they will bring your food and drinks out there to you. The main OSheehans bar is right there; makes for a perfect place to enjoy movies, etc on the big screen in the Atrium.

I thought the Thermal spa was absolutely worth the extra cost. But plenty of folks would feel otherwise. It was the most relaxing place I think I have ever been. I am so disappointed because it is closed for maintenance when I cruise on her again next Saturday.

There are tons of entertainment venues and options. Dont try to do them all.

You will get the layout of the ship very quickly. It has a very nice flow to it. Dont let the elevators frustrate you too much.

    Enjoy the cruise!!!!

  5. I emailed ncl yesterday and asked if I could get a pass to the partially opened thermal suites and they responded that their official response is that for the 10/14/17 Escape sailing the thermal suites will be closed for maintenance. The rest of the spa will be opened as usual.

Oh you can still buy the thermal spa pass online this morning. It would be nice if you could use it but NCL really doesnt seem to care that they are selling passes for a service that isnt going to be available.

  6. Well I called back and was offered $400 on board credit for my Haven Spa room. I refused the on board credit as I paid for the stateroom with actual cash, I want an actual refund. The person I was talking to couldn't authorize that so now I wait for someone else to call me back.

Amazing that they continue to sell the passes. I have made several calls and get a different answer depending on who I speak to.

  7. For the sake of full disclosure he did start the message with "closed for maintenance" so the rest is up to interpretation.

Wow. Now I am wondering if I should go repurchase the pass. The pool was the main attraction to me. Dont mind a little noise. I have my earbuds. I have already received a refund. I might roll the dice since they are still selling the passes.

  8. It's nice that they did that but it shouldn't be expected. If your twin sister made the exact same error but she received $200 in products, you wouldn't be satisfied with what you received.

That's why (imo) everyone who has lost spa access should receive the same compensation. Some planned to live in the spa while others may have planned to go for 30 minutes a day. Some will be happier with the compensation than others. It's impossible to make everyone happy....unless NCL fixes the Spa between disembarkation and embarkation.

There will be no compensation. They prefer the "tiny percentage" of folks who booked the spa to shut up and go away. While the spa passes ARE STILL ON SALE FOR THIS CRUISE.

I even talked to their tech support yesterday as to why they continue to sell the passes. Customer service told me it was their fault. So after talking to one of their techs, he acknowledged that it is wrong to continue to sell the passes but that is just the way it is.

  9. Look at the good side of it. The pool will be a lot more crowded with the spa out of service.

Dont get mad. I am just as pissed as you. I started the other thread about this.

NCL screwed the pooch on this one. Its one thing to take away the spa from us. Its another thing to be so arrogant that they keep right on selling passes and dont care that those people will be disappointed and angry once they board. And if you already bought a pass? Who cares. We need to keep the money as long as possible so screw our customers.

I will never spend another dime with NCL after this cruise. Not because the spa was closed. Because of the way I have been treated when I have done most of the work for them in letting other passengers know. It is really bad folks. Customer service is non existent with this issue.

  10. First off I understand the situation in Florida with Irma and the aftermath. Thoughts and prayers to everyone impacted.

I was on the Harmony of the Seas on the August 26th sailing. I ordered and paid for several photos on the last day of the cruise and also purchased the USB stick. The instructions stated that the USB stick would be delivered to my cabin by 10 pm on Friday night. (same day that I purchased)

The stick was never delivered and I simply forgot to check on it before we departed the ship on Saturday morning.

I contacted RCCL on the following Monday and they gave me the ourcruisephotos support website.

I went there and turned in a ticket. It said not to call as that would only slow down the process.

I have been checking the ticket status. After a couple of days it went from "being processed" to "awaiting ship feedback".

After a few days I contacted them again thru the ticket and was told it was being worked.

Yesterday it went back to "being processed". I contacted them again and they said this was the first day they were back in their office and had "limited power".

I do understand all of that but something seems off with the ticket status being moved back and forth.

All I want are my pictures or a refund.

Have any of you had experience with a situation where your photos or USB stick were left behind?

Just curious as to whether this is a wild goose chase, hurricane or not.

    Experience with ourcruisephotos? Anyone?

  11. The Thermal Spa was one of the best experiences I have had on any cruise. Loved that place!

Find the Food Republic and District Brewhouse early on. They are both excellent.

If you like beautiful uncrowded beaches, book the Rebel Yell Excursion over to Jost Van Dyke. Have a painkiller or two at the Soggy Dollar Bar. My favorite beach anywhere. The ride over on the Rebel Yell is great and you will feel like you have found Paradise.

Attend the big parties at night at Spice H2O. Great fun!

Find out when big events are happening at the Atrium and get there early to get a seat above it and you can enjoy OSheehans while watching the craziness below. Battle of the Sexes, Newlywed Game, all of that stuff.

The Escape is a wonderful ship. We went last October and immediately rebooked when we got back. I even have the same cabin. And I cant wait to get back to the Spa.

You are going to have a blast.

  12. I lost 100 bucks OBC last year from one of the major online travel sites. It wasnt listed in my account on the first day. Like some folks have stated, I had read it could take 3 days to show up. I waited until the 4th day to inquire with Guest Services. They said "too late". They said they would not get an answer back before the cruise ended and by then it would not do me any good. Lesson learned. Yes I could have called and demanded the cash from the site but it wasnt worth it to me. I try to live as stress free as possible. I will make sure I start asking as soon as I board next time if it isnt there.
