Currently Cruise Mapper still shows calling @ La Coruna. Problem is that currently 6.4 metre waves with wind side on!.

If the High Winds are likely to be directly behind SOD through the Bay the passage should be less bumpy. If she leaves PM on Sunday this means on time in Portsmouth. If SOD is delayed slightly on route Saga will just arrange to embark you later (a phone call to delay your pick up will tell you this).

Mein Schiff 3 has just left the Bay of Biscay on route to the Caribbean & enjoying nearly 9 metre waves & wind side on. The buffet is probably empty!.

It is about a 20min walk into Funchal itself but usually Shuttle Bus into Town & plenty of place to eat.

First Port of Call was Funchal so obviously at least one Port will go possibly the overnight in Tenerife?.

You won't regret the "jump" from P&O. We did it 2yrs ago & haven't looked back. Yes it is more expensive but the step up in quality & service is well worth it.

My last 14 night cruise in August with Saga worked out at £210pp per night in a Standard Balcony. One heck of a difference with Cunard!.

At the moment Saga are 2 months ahead of last years release dates (Jan to March 2024 was Jan 2023 release).

And the Green Beans have migrated to Fred as well!.

The presentation needs improving. Sometimes it looks like it's thrown on the plate!.

And the famous P&O Green Beans are back in abundance!.

If you want 2026 ring Saga now & change to Jan-April 2026 & you will be well up the list.

On SOD in August on 3 Sea Days we had two Curry Club Lunches & a German Buffet in the Club. Would normally happen in the Lido area but inside due to poor weather.

No Cheese Trolley but you select from Menu.

The "Nationwide Shared Chauffer Service" could have connotations. Does it mean that the extra costs to Saga (& Customer) might be offset by no Private Car under 75 miles. Interesting!.

Saga have announced on their Website that from 2025 a Nationwide Chauffer Shared Car Service will be introduced.

I stand corrected it is still Jan - March 2025 but will include Nationwide shared Chauffer Service!.

Apparently it will be Jan - April 2025

Looks like 14 day Dry Dock with two days to & from Bremerhaven? each side of this. Hence shortening 18 day Cruise to 14days.

We were onboard recently @ 1245 & Cabin was ready. Lunch is served in the Grill from 1300 to around 1545pm. The Main Dining Room is only those on Back to Back Cruise from Midday.

You will pass through Customs, through the Red or Green Lane, after disembarkation.

You can have the same coffee, Latte etc in the MDR. All coffees available are listed on the Dessert Menu.

Saga should if know you are on a Cruise as the Rep has your details on Computer in front of them when they make the phone call this is because they will ask you to confirm details they already have during any booking process (contact details etc). They will just reschedule the call for your return. Bear in mind you will get an E-Mail Brochure (with no prices) & follow up call depending on where you are on the pre-register list.
