  1. I requested soap, conditioner and body lotion on Iona last summer and provided straight away. Did the same on Aurora's second cruise in April and after days of delay was eventually told there was none on the ship. Presumably this was supply problems rather than a policy but I hadn't brought my own supplies as hadn't expected any issue. So I would suggest bringing back ups just in case.

  2. All emergency announcements are transmitted in all venues as they don't know where the staff who need to hear them will be.

Other announcements arenot transmitted in cabins as some people may not wish to hear them but you can hear them through the correct channel on the TV

You can ask your cabin steward for bottles of conditioner and hand lotion.

Did that on Iona last summer and was provided with them. Did that on Aurora 3 weeks ago and told none on ship anywhere. Even got a phone call from the hotel manager to repeat the above.

  4. We were on Queen Mary 2 in February and had the same issue. Decided to aim for 2pm at the terminal and at least would be in the right place if we had to wait. But no one looked at our boarding time at all, just queued for test and then boarding and went straight through.

    Happy Birthday, birthday people!

Well, the day started terribly wet but basically improved.  We got out late morning and got our 10000 steps in.  Lazy afternoon, watching the T20 cricket, then tonight really enjoyed a Côte at Home dinner.  Wonder if that might be our last “careful” meal for a while?  Booster jab next Friday & from what I’ve read (which may or may not be true) we’re up to maximum immunity from 7 days after.  Indoor restaurants?  I’ve forgotten how that works!

So, baked Camembert with rolls drizzled with white truffle honey

then confit duck leg and lentils with carrots and kale

    and finally

chocolate fondant with salted caramel and almonds

All very nice.  I really rate the Côte at Home offering.  Next month is charcuterie, beef cheek and poached pears

    I like your Poole pottery

  6. I'm sure it didn't cost us more than £40 from Southampton to near Bournemouth last time we got off a ship. Bournemouth Airport has very expensive parking which everyone has to use so that may add a bit to your fare. I think there are a couple of Taxi firms that are allowed to use the Taxi  rank and therefore don't have to pay the parking charges. Looking on the Bournemouth Airport website there is a link to PRC (used to be known as Poole Radio Cabs) who it says have a desk at the Airport so they may be worth contacting for a quote.

And, apparently, they are currently in port and going nowhere as the propulsion system is broken! I don't know whether this has anything to do with the early morning fire.

Nothing to do with fire. There was an issue with the azipod. We are underway now
