so do i keep both sites up at same time or does it just redirect me?  Also does husband need seperate emed and navica account or do we use same?

Both of you will need a separate Navica account.  Make one for you and one for your husband. It's personal preference if you want to use the app or the website.  The website will ask you to sign in to Navica online, so just make a note of your login in info.

I was thinking about getting the home tests ahead of our late November cruise. I know some people have had issues with them being defective. I'm on another ship in late January, but as far as i know, they expire before then. Should my friend and I just get a two pack? Do we both need a backup? Should we just get the six pack, just in case?

I also have a concern about ordering a back up test.   There was a vlogger on YouTube showing him taking the at home test prior to cruising.  He accidentally knocked the test off from the table he was using to the floor.  He had already dispensed the liquid solution needed to read the test.  He was required to then open another test.  Just one of those things I wouldn't anticipate happening.

Hate the expense of needing to order an additional test I would never know if I can use or just live on the edge and take a chance. 🙂

  3. Going on a Symphony cruise in November.  Check in was open at one time and then closed.  Did read reports this cruise wasn't the only one.  Today was the date for re-opening of check-in.

There has been added a place to report vaccination information...1.Which one...2. Date of final shot....3. Pictures of both front and back of vaccine card.

All other information that had been submitted was retained in the check in.

The biggie that I had seen discussed was if a new check in time would be assigned.  Good news....time stayed the same.  I would love to have had an option of an earlier time, but glad for those who have an early time that it did not change. 🙂

  4.  P.M. Thanks FOPMan and  JohninDC.  I really am not a fan of sitting around the Miami airport until a

7PM flight time. Also disappointing that no Luggage Valet available from Miami cruises according to Royal's website.  Stuck with babysitting luggage until 3 hours prior to flight. UGH.

Hoping for good travel weather to get to Fort Lauderdale from Miami.  Off to change our flight to FLL.

  5. Needing input on cruising in Miami then getting to Fort Lauderdale airport.  Any big issues we might encounter doing this? The flight time we are looking at is 3:00 P.M. out of FLL.

If we fly out of MIA, the only flight we could make would be a 7 P.M. flight.  By taking the flight out of FLL, we'd be home by the time the MIA flight leaves.

    Thank you for any input.

  6. There was a post of a recent cruiser on the Symphony.  It was mentioned they purchased the three night specialty dining once on board.  Sounds like it is a possibility.  Did mention it was only available the first day.  Check once you board.  There is usually a specialty dining table set up to make specialty dining purchases.

And don't forget to add that the double points are for suites that are purchased outright, not awarded by the Royal Up offer!! Haha!

Yes, that is stated in the Royal Up rules.  We just did this on the Ovation, and we received double points only for the original balcony we booked, not the Grand Suite we were able to acquire through Royal Up.

Typically, CK replaces the MDR for suite guests assuming you are not in a JS. If you are in a JS, I would not count on getting into CK.

as for the dining package, I found it nice to have, but with kids not so sure. Those dinners can be long.

regarding kids and the CK:  it might be nicer as it is a shorter meal

Just off the Ovation in a Grand Suite. Coastal Kitchen is doing limited seating.  Our meals were not long at all.  Thinking maybe due to the limited seating.  Have definitely been in main dining room meals that were much longer.

They are great cabins next to no obstruction . There’s a door on deck 6 that goes into 270 ,you beat the crowds .

Can you both check in the safe for me I think I left $50 in there.

Sure...I'll look. Then play in the casino once found, and will send you the proceeds! Australia is on my bucket list to visit, so maybe some day I could just bring it to you!  🤣🤣

Thanks for answering my questions.  Appreciate the input.

You are most welcome.  Hope you have a great time on your cruise.  We did enjoy it.  After talking to staff, think we'd enjoy trying the American Queen.  It seems to be a much larger boat with more venues.  We found it quite interesting that nothing happened on board after 10 P.M.  Definitely, the streets were rolled up after that time. 😉

Was there still a big line to get tickets for the included excursions the evening before? It was our cruise in May. Not very satisfying but most of the cruise was great.

The only tickets available for the next day were for the HOHO bus.  There were usually plenty the next morning for whatever time one wanted to go.  Never a rush.

Our cruise was the first time the HOHO buses were running, so those were the included excursions. You could get off at whatever stop you chose. I think this was a different scenario than earlier cruises this year.

We had read on an earlier review from May to book that one due to popularity.  Got documents yesterday - impressive package - We also have  the 5:30 dinner - so a good breakfast and a snack in the port cities will suffice!  I did some research on line of all the stops - probably take advantage of the HOHO, ride the loop, and then pick  1 or 2 sites to visit.

Can you tell me about the Terrine Landing??  Not much time there.

Did you do the HOHO in Baton Rouge?  The riverfront seemed nice - and the Capital bldg but  any type of tourist shops nearby to browse?

    Thanks

The Terrine Landing stop was our first stop.  There was no HOHO for that stop.  The only excursion that day was to the Grammy Museum.  If you wanted to go, you could get a ticket and board the bus for your designated time.  The museum was interesting since there are only two in the US.  This one and one in LA.  If you are an avid music lover, this is a trip down memory lane.  There is so much to read about performers, but if we had chosen to stay on the boat for an easy day, I don't think we would have missed that much.  One cruiser we visited with said they walked across the street to Delta State University.

We did the HOHO in Baton Rouge.  Unfortunately, the Capitol Building was closed that day.  Some construction work was being done.  We went to the Rural Life Museum.  Much of what was there we were already familiar with, so we could have skipped it.  Greatly enjoyed the Capitol Park Museum.  It was very well done, with easy to read displays and an overall history of the state of Louisiana.  We did not do the USS Kidd.  We've toured other naval ships, so didn't feel the need. There was a bar and and a souvenir shop across street from where we docked.  We just went in to look at the bar since it is one of the oldest in the city. Our day in Baton Rouge was a bit rainy.  We decided to skip the LSU Museum so we could grab a bit of lunch on board before serving time was over.  Just did make it! 🙂
