  1. Is the over the door organizer approved? The rules changed recently. They can't have hooks anymore but Command strips are ok

Make sure your power strip DOES NOT have the surge protector. They'll confiscate it.

And my all-time favorite--band aids. They're super expensive on board

  2. The only ones that get really booked would be the Behind the Scenes tour. And they only take 15'ish people. Nothing else really of you get there early.

If you want to get a very close to the front seat, then yes 30 min early would ensure that. But if you don't really care, just show up! (With the exception of the comedy club)

  3. If you can afford two rooms, then do so, but it is a lot more expensive just to have a place to sleep. I would just do all 4 of you together and put the extra money towards drink packages, excursions, and maybe some specially dining. Western or Eastern doesn't really matter, they're both great. Western tends to be more historical(with the Mayan ruins) where eastern has prettier views/hiking/beaches etc.

2 sea days are fine, they really let you just relax and enjoy the ship.

Deck placement... if you have a easily car-sick/seasick person, go middle and low. If no one struggles with that, then go up and have fun! :)

For the first cruise, book through the boat for excursions. Then when you feel more comfortable, then branch out. You'll know you'll never miss the boat, if you book through RC.

Automatic tipping is the easiest, then you don't have to worry about doing more(or carrying bills)

  4. We only had it once on our Miracle sailing in October, and it was in the afternoon.

I thought it was a great sea day activity for families, but I don't think it would really do well as the main entertainment for the evening. It was kind of one of those "hey, this could be kinda fun, and we aren't doing anything else" things. On the same level as trivia, weird contests on Lido, etc.

That said, my DD6 did win the whole shebang, so that was kind of cool. She became a bit of a celebrity and would get recognized by the staff and other passengers. So that may have colored my perception a bit. It was a fun diversion on a lazy sea day, but that's about it.

For those interested, the Grand Prize is a bunch of travel-sized Hasbro games and a $150 gift card to Hasbro.com.

This is why I'm looking forward to it. My 4 kids would enjoy watching and (hopefully) one of them would get picked to play. It's nice that it's something for the kids versus a show that they wouldn't enjoy

  5. They can give you a cell phone that they will call you if she needs you. They'll let you walk her in the first day, but that's about it. If she's active and outgoing, sounds like she'll be brave enough to get started. And the counsellors will do great with her.

Oh, get there early the first day so you will get a cell phone. They only have a few.

  6. Umm. No. There would be no way to trace to food poisoning episode to the pizza, unless major testing was done. And I doubt the CDC is going to come in and check for e-coli or salmonella for just 2 people.

And if it was really the pizza, more people should have gotten sick than just one cabin. They probably just picked up a stomach bug, that is going around everywhere right now, and the pizza was the last place they ate.

  7. I agree with you. I think I could quote most of the "activities" in their proper order. They all seem the same. I try to do something a little bit different each sea day. I'm not smart enough to do all the trivia, but occasionally its fun. I like the first art auction and the history of art. That one tends to be more informative versus the sales pitch.

Of course you could do the free spa seminar with the 200 ladies that show up. [emoji6][emoji6]
