When we returned to port on 3/6/16, there was a real problem with self disembark. Many, many people are trying to get off with more luggage than they can really handle which held up everyone else. Unless they can control how disembarking people handle their luggage, we would not do self assist.

We did it once on Liberty of 2/28/16 sailing. We thought it wasn't good at all so never did it again. We enjoyed the MDR for breakfast every day after. If you want order a Mimosa from a bar and take with you to MDR breakfast, it would be cheaper. By the way we were not suite guests, everyone was allowed if they paid the 15.00. We were quite disappointed.

We sailed on Liberty of the Seas 2/28-3/6/16. They had a table set up on the promenade and we booked 3 restaurants for 70.00 pp. We didn't want them to pick the restaurant the first night [we wanted Chops] so we waited until we got onboard. We will do it the same way next year.

We also were on that cruise. Embarkation went well, ALL crew members we dealt with were just wonderful. We had requested by email mattress toppers and they were on when we got to cabin, they were not egg crates they were memory foam, the beds were great.
MDR for breakfast was great. Windjammer for lunch was just ho hum. Both nights in Chops were great as well as Giovanni's. Waited until onboard to book 3 night package with first night at Chops and special was 70.00 pp. Beef tenderloin on first formal night was the best I have ever had on any ship.
Only got off ship in Cozumel so can't speak for tenders in Belize.
Disembarkation was a horror, supposed to be off ship at 8:45 and we didn't get off until 10:30. The self assists were pretty upset and waited in line at least hour and a half. They repeatedly announced that delay was due to not enough Customs agents. I counted a total of 6 when we were in line after getting luggage. Getting a porter is the way to go, they cut down a lot of the line waiting.
Despite the bad finish we are looking forward to same cruise/same ship January 2017.

Yep signed up for cupcake class, restaurant in our small town had gourmet cupcakes and their baker had to quit to take care of her husband. They tell me the job is mine if I want it, but I really need to tweak my skills. I can say my on the job training was on a Caribbean cruise!! LOL

Thanks Clarea, you are always quick to answer my questions.

Sailing on Liberty but wanted to know if they are open, or do we only have Windjammer for lunch.
-
Not to worry Merion Mom I never noticed that either. OP should have mentioned that in her post, I rarely look to see where someone is from. Not a very nice way to answer you.

I hate to be a Negative Nellie but what would happen if you were on shore and something happened to you, be it vehicle breakdown, injury, etc. What would happen to your kids if you didn't make it back in time? Will a crew member take care of them until you are reunited at next port. I remember on Disney Cruise, parents lost track of time and ship started out with parents screaming that their children were onboard and they put parents on a tug and took them to ship.

Once onboard embarkation day, when and where can we sign up for Specialty restaurants?

I am looking for the ice show times on Liberty please.
Thanks

Thanks for the information. Hopefully someone on this week can confirm the same order. it helps when booking specialty restaurants.

Does anyone know the menu order for main dining room on Liberty? I have the names of all 7 menus but don't know which is which night.
Thanks.

Moopet Guy. I sent an email to RCCL and got answer back the next day. They told me there would be toppers on our beds on embarkation day. We had mattresses on Navigator that were so hard my hips actually hurt which I mentioned in my email to them. Hard beds do not bother my roommate so if she doesn't want one after all I will have steward put an additional one on my bed. It surprises me that RCCL does not care about how their mattresses are. Hotels and other cruise lines make a point of playing up their wonderful beds.

My daughter makes amazingly beautiful lanyards for cruising. She found a niche market for her designs and has done well.

Does the Anthem have a peek-a-boo bridge? If so I would have liked watching what was happening on the bridge during those 12 hours. That might have been a two edge sword had I been watching them with worry but not necessarily panic on their faces. I don't think any of the officers and crew will soon forget what it was like.

Just found the info it was on post #25.

Has anyone heard if the Puzzle Room, Northstar and Ifly will be open at all on this cruise? Or is it just closed temporarily. I can't remember where I read it.

Is the name of the ship posted above Redneck of the Seas? I wonder what their welcome aboard lunch consists of.
-
I thought they were further South when they got into the storm. No wonder we haven't heard of other ships and how they handled it.

Thanks for the comments
However I want to put my debit card down in case of need but also put cash down. Will guest services use my cash first or do I need to ask them
Thank

I've tried searching but coming up empty. Were any other ships caught in the same mess as Anthem. Hard to believe that a lot of ships sailing in the area did not experience the same, but I can't find any others. Did other ships change their routes to avoid, Does anyone know? I would think that others adjusted route and only Anthem took a chance.

Nobody has ever asked me to stop smoking on balcony because when ship is stopped I never smoke out there. I only smoke when ship is moving.

I have been to 6 MM and the first 4 were good. The last 2 the people instantly broke up into groups and we simply wandered around looking for some welcoming faces and just never happened. After that we never signed up again. Reminded me of high school where there were clicks and outsiders were not welcome.
