  1. You didn't luck out. They recently changed the bidding to break spa mini-suite and spa balcony into their own categories. I'd say within the last month or so?

I'm glad chances of my bid being accepted are slim... but you never know... I just can't bring myself to pay almost 500 dollars for DH and I to get the spa passes. I had decided to live without spa access this cruise. so I will be happy either way.

  2. You can only bid on the next two categories up. Balcony is a category. Mini is a category.

A mini can bid on a suite or Haven

A balcony can bid on a mini or suite.

You can not bid within your current category (i.e., balcony to aft balcony. Or mini to spa mini).

I lucked out then. I just put a bid in for a spa mini on Bliss for December. I'm currently in a mini on the same deck.

  3. Jeezz...since reading this thread over the last few weeks, I now own luggage tag holders, neck fans, and a fancy , be all, end all first aid kit. On order, I have towel clips and door magnets. I need to stop reading this thread because I still have 69 days to embarkation. At this rate, I'll need to hit Amazon up for some new luggage to hold all my new cruise prep items :D

had to do that but went to ebags.com :halo:

  4. I have a large tub in one room that I put everything needed in. clothes bought for the cruise special section of my closet. the tub so far includes:

    *our 3-1-1 TSA bags-slowly filing.

*a box with trial size cosmetics from the monthly subscriptions I belong to.

*Passport holder with passports already tucked in.

    *sun hats

*portable bluetooth speaker for music in our cabin

    *magnets

    *stainless steel straws

    *mini binoculars

    *2 backpacks

    *crossbody bag

    *lanyards

    *empty packing cubes

    *4 already packed packing cubes

I have already packed swimsuits and coverups; under clothes for DH and self; night clothes and the prizes and wrapping bags for the meet and greet I am organizing.

I also have a spreadsheet by day with what we plan to do and wear those days. and lists of what I still need to buy and pack. Typically I dont like to plan what to wear day by day but I am trying to make this cruise with carry on only.

our cruise isn't until December! I asked my DH if he thought I was crazy for already starting to pack. He said no... it makes you happy. lol I think I'll keep him.

  5. Good evening everyone :)Not sure if anyone can answer this, but does anyone have a general idea about what time reservations open up on the day you are able to reserve for specialty dining? We are sailing on the Norwegian Bliss in December and we are able to make reservations starting tomorrow, but I was wondering if I could get a jump on things by knowing about what time you were able to access reservations . Thank you for your help.

Thanks for your question. I am wondering too. We are on the same sailing. you should come join the roll call. we have a meet and greet, slot pull and pub crawl planned.

  6. I love this thread. We cruise Dec 15 this year. I have a tub that I throw everything I am buying for the cruise in. I already have 1 packing cube packed with prizes for our meet and greet, binoculars and some extra odds and ends. Plan on filling another packing cube this weekend with our swimwear. Passport folder is packed with passports and lanyards just waiting to add travel docs and cash after final payment. I have a spreadsheet I keep of clothes and things I want to pack. I will he completely packed at the latest 2 weeks before we sail.

  7. Those things are optional. You don't have to pay for them.

Reservations opened months before the cruise and even more opened on embarkation day. The people who made reservations beat you to them. You snooze, you lose.

What was NCL's response when you reported the balcony smokers?

Some things are allowed under NCL's dress code and other things are not. Shorts, hairy legs, and being fat/overweight are allowed.

Not everyone with the UBP gets drunk and loud. Individuals (not the package) are responsible for their behavior.

There is no vacation that can guarantee the behavior of other guests. Your grandchildren might see a drunk person misbehaving on Regent Seven Seas.

If you feel that they are dangerous, don't do those activities. Problem solved.

There is no stress (usually) when making reservations from the comfort of your own home 120/130 days before the cruise.

No matter what ship or line, there is no guarantee on the behavior of other guests. For ex., there are fights on Disney, RCCL, Carnival, NCL, etc.

I truly wish there was a like button for posts! Thank you Two Wheels Only for your comments. I will be on Bliss in December and am looking forward to my first experience with NCL.

That is one review I am not looking forward to reading, but since it's about the Bliss I will and will take everything with a grain (or two) of salt.

  8. Thank you for your fantastic review. I booked my Dec 2018 cruise in May of 2017. my only regret now is not booking a spa balcony or spa mini suite. The silver lining is I am in a mini suite only a few cabin doors down from the OL.

Now I can't wait to go back and watch all your videos. I caught a couple before this review on YouTube and want to see the rest. I loved loved loved your Don't book a balcony on the Bliss video!

  9. In my experience. no, they are the same. (Except, like you had mentioned, the gratuity being included.)

Thankyou... glad to hear it. I just moved my booking in Dec to a group and even though I lost my obc... dollar wise i am saving.

  10. I specifically booked a stateroom that would hold up to 4 to guarantee bed next to the balcony. I got that advice off a CC post on a similar class ship. the person at NCL I booked with said it would be as well. Reading this thread I got nervous... just checked in my NCL and if I go to summary and click on stateroom... the photo shows a mini suite with bed next to the balcony. I'm relieved. so...

if you want the bed next to balcony book the cabin with the + indicating that it accommodates 3-4ppl

  11. is there a way to add a spreadsheet to the roll call so members can fill in their names and the events we are planning that they want to attend? I have one started off line, but would be so much easier to get everyone involved. Thanks!

  12. The ship is ridiculously beautiful. I got the chills several times walking the halls.

We dropped our bags off in the room, and are now in Savor for our traditional embarkation lunch.

Just taking it all in right now. And there’s a lot.
