If we ever do a TA again I will try the westbound one I was so tired by the time we got to Southampton ..of course several days of rough seas/rain/snow that kept us indoors did not help matters

Yes MeMe I understand you are following the rules but no need to brag about it IMO yes very inconsiderate of people to get sick or die on a cruise We were delayed in a port because someone had a heart attack & ended up dying We had to wait for the authorities to take the body off People should not cruise unless they have no medical conditions ..Right?? 😲

For me I do not book anything forward the forward elevators There will be motion plus the anchor noise of you have tender ports I prefer mid or aft but YMMV No one knows if there will be noise under the Terrace or pool deck but usually on the other ships there is so on Vista is may still be the case Find out what cabins are left to book then make the booking you can always take a few days & change of you decide it is still not good The ship will be booked up soon everyone wants to be on the Vista 😉

We took Red Arrow years ago from Calgary to Breynet it was very comfortable for a bus trip not sure what it is like theses days but it was pretty good 20 yrs ago LOL

Do you mean 7107 ? The wind issue on the O class ships is the 1st extended balcony in the aft section they are open on 2 sides so will get the wind when underway Ideally better to get a cabin with no public areas above you it would be a squeeze having loungers on the regular balconies IMO

The nightly show used to be 9:30 pm but may change to a bit earlier in case you want to make the show it might be helpful

Gratuities are not mandatory just go to reception & have them reduce them to what your TA has given you if you do not want to pay the extra amount JMO

They may go early to get things set up before the ship sails with pax They need to find their way around the ship as well like when the ships are in drydock some crew stay on along with the Captain to cook & clean

The crew get time off on a rotating scale (just like other shift workers) They usually will shop for others when they are off in certain ports They know the good places to shop IME

If you do not like how the business is run then do not give them your money Find a cruise line that you like their business model & spend your money with them JMO
