  1. @TravelBluebird..glad you got to meet @Btimmer as he and his wife are experienced HAL cruisers and he maintains a wonderful blog that I follow as well. Enjoy your day! PS if you visit the spa would love to see some pics!
  2. @NorbertsNiece...hope you feel better soon and nothing further than the cough develops.
  3. We really enjoyed the TV selections when we cruised HAL. At the time many free movies. Will they be showing movies by the pool? Or are they in the theater?
  4. @TravelBluebird...our 1sr HAL cruise was on Oosterdam just before the shut down. Our 1st venture away from Carnival and yes we are now "older" and also Platinum with Carnival. I thoroughly enjoyed The Origin show on HAL. We sail on Koningsdam to Hawaii in 3 weeks. My gift to myself is a spa pass I love the heated lounges, hydro pool, steam room etc. While I enjoyed all our Carnival cruises we definitely prefer smaller ships in our retirement years. Watched your precruise video today. Looking forward to following along this cruise. If you ever need a top notch TA I know one who is also a very good YT. Susan
  5. Remember this ship 2000 passengers vs excess of 4000 passengers on the bigger ships sailing the Caribbean. Totally different cruise vibe! I'll take improved food any day over any casino...just saying!
  6. @TxTeach79...wow that shower looks amazing. Chill day without cheers today, relaxing before back to the grind. This has been a great review, so sorry about your "toof" issue, hope it gets resolved when you return home. Next up you can follow the TRIBE cruise like they have been following you and @HelloItsMeB. Enjoy your Sunday in Miami!
  7. This blog is hitting it out of the park, or shall I say "off the ship"...FANTASTIC start love the thoroughness you are providing us with Pete!
  8. Yikes that is a lot of passengers! I just watched a video of NYE on Jubilee......talk about crowds, but a FUN time was had by all.
  9. @Haljo1935...safe travels home! Looking forward to your wrap up and additional stories. We don't board until January 30th. Curious how traffic is at the airport this morning. We are renting a car in Yuma and dropping it off at San Diego airport then will grab a cab to the port.
  10. @Btimmer...allcaught up on your blog....any secrets to overcoming jet lag on these long overseas flights? Are you just "used to it" from doing it often? Have you found it takes longer to adjust as we get older? Excited to be following another journey with you both!
  11. Not sure what you mean by not accessible. Did you get a message saying that when you tried to download the app from the Play Store?
  12. @Haljo1935..OMG thank you so much for the amazing spa pics you posted earlier today! The weather is a bit brisk here today, breezy with little sun so despite trying to sit outside and read I am inside and have been researching our port stops in Hawaii. For Ensenada, we have never been there, I found that it is the "home of fish tacos" so that may be on our list as we both love fish, talapia is NOT fish in my vocabulary for sure. I so enjoy the research part especially when I have lot of time on my hands. Sure going to miss your reporting, it has been wonderful. One final question. Have you watched any of the Lido pool side movies? If so was it difficult to find a seat? We have found on 7 day cruises it is often tough finding a seat so we just go to the cabin and watch something there as HAL's selection is usually good. We are BIG fans of BB Kings and the other live music venues. Safe travels home and please post a link here for your future cruises so we can follow along! Susan
  13. sounds like an excellent plan....maybe soft foods...or more Woodford to ease the discomfort 🙂
  14. You gotta be close to double digits by now! What's on the agenda for dinner?
  15. You got that right.....I can count the times on one hand in my life that I have "let it all hang out"!
  16. I purchased the spa pass as a gift for myself....as I love the heated loungers, the hydro pool and the steam rooms as well. Our room is on deck 8 aft so I won't have too long of a trek to get to the spa. I am happy to see that the hydro pool is in a separate room from other areas as it can be loud when in the pool
  17. @TxTeach79...sea days are good recovery days ....onward to your next adventure! Make sure @HelloItsMeB realizes the struggle only becomes larger the older we get so go for the gusto NOW! Have a GREAT day! Your excursion yesterday sure looked like a lot of fun. Sort of reminded me of the excursion we did in Antigua where pole dancing was involved induced by rum punch!
  18. @HelloItsMeB looks like the party is back on...very festive.....
  19. Sorry about your flight seat snafu.....seems like air travel these days is becoming a real pain in the you know what!
