  1. Totally agree with the original post and I think most of us have seen examples of fellow cruiser's poor hygiene. But as Funboy mentions if you politely raise the issue with the offending person your likely to get an icy stare at best or as we witnessed once in the buffet a young woman commented that gel and hand washing is a waste of time, another guest told her it was for all our benefit resulting in the young woman instantly going into a rage. You just never know what level of reaction your going to receive these days.
  2. Same here, I pay somewhere between £3 and £4 a pint for my tipple. Also please ignore my cc name, I've never owned or worked in a bar. 🙂
  3. Could it be that P&O are attempting to maximise their profits which is their right I suppose. Bar prices are creeping up, spirits have been withdrawn from being able to bring on board, your supposed to hand over any alcohol bought in port. I wouldn't be surprised if next it'll be alcohol must be carried in your hand luggage on embarkation to stop doubling up in suitcase's then they could withdraw being able to buy spirits to consume in your cabin. All this then leaves guests with no choice but to buy from the bar or purchase a drinks package. Now they're attracting a younger demographic and bookings are doing well they probably think they can push all this through without much fuss. Sorry it's all a bit negative but .......
  4. I wander if down the line they'll be an announcement that all drinks soft or alcoholic must be carried in your hand luggage?
  5. This may be a cynical view but how long will it be before P&O stop selling room service alcohol or when you attempt to purchase a bottle of your favourite tipple they've run out of stock.
  6. We were on Arvia Oct. 23 for the TA to the Carribbean. We expected that the ship would be busy due to the many sea days but all I can say is thank heavens we were in a balcony cabin so we could escape the crowds. On the whole we did enjoy the ship but we had to be organised to ensure we didn't miss out on things like dining choice and entertainment etc. On our cruise the sunbed issue was a problem, people started putting towels out from 06:00 with most being taken by 09:00 unfortunately they weren't occupied until much later. The experience didn't put us off sailing with p&o again but we wouldn't book another TA.
  7. We saw La Voix in the limelight club last November on Arvia's TA to the Carribbean. I wasn't so bothered but my wife was desperate to see her and I've got to say I really enjoyed the show. She's a good singer and very funny. One thing though we were sat near the back and she did go up to the table next to us and said to the woman you look nice then looking at her husband said " who's this your carer " he didn't laugh 😬
  8. Totally agree, had we not been part of the FB group we wouldn't know about the change. Communication with customers isn't one of p&o's strong points.
  9. We've also recently seen on a social media site for our Nov. cruise G438 that our itinerary has been changed swapping Valencia for Cartagena but haven't had any notification from p&o about the change. Not complaining though as we've been to Cartagena before and always said we'd like to return one day. 🙂
