We used it on our recent cruise on Harmony out of Port Everglades. We flew out of FLL at 1215 and our final destination was Little Rock AR. But as previously stated, the service only gets your luggage to the departure airport. The airline takes it from there just like you checked them yourself.
It was super easy and we would use it again.

It was on Harmony as of last week.
That said, if everyone in the party has iPhones as your first post suggests, just skip the app fee and use iMessages.

It’s a pretty small venue. My wife and I were on Harmony last week and dined in 150 one night. I only saw a few tables that could accommodate more than 2-4. Just go by there when you get on board.

It’s a glitch in the deck plan illustration. The one corridor accesses all of them. You definitely don’t access any staterooms through a main dining room [emoji6]

You might need to be a little more specific. On Harmony, the different bars and restaurants have their own drinks menus and unique offerings.

A lot of transportation industries are doing this. Most people only see the base fare for comparison (airfare, cruise price, etc). Many of the lines have had to reduce perks (like adding/increasing baggage fees and no free snacks on some airlines) and increase capacity/efficiency to keep ticket prices down. As fuel/oil/labor/etc costs increase, something has to give to keep apparent prices low.

To be honest, lack of a pool in the solarium wasn’t even an issue for me. The last ship I was on, the solarium pool was a hot tob with delusions of grandeur. And the pictures of oasis/allure/symphony are pretty close to that. I would rather relax in one of the hot tubs, personally.

I have been in many sky class suites. Currently the fridges are empty.
Gotcha. I occasionally see photos with a sampling in the fridge, and our last cruise on the Nav there were a sampling of items in the fridge available for purchase.

So, a random question that my google-fu has not been able to answer, and I tend to trust the answers here more than from a random RCI phone drone.
Does anyone have any personal experience with the items that come stocked in the room fridges? Specifically when staying in grand suites and up. It looks like the items are the same as what can be had in the suite lounge (soda, bottled water, basic beers). Do you still get charged for the items in your fridge? I’m guessing not (because cruise), but it sure would be nice.

You are going to get mixed responses about this from any port. The baggage handlers may or may not confiscate it. The rules are enforced at the company’s discretion. The official answer is no, but people have gotten things on board. Try it and see, worse that happens is you lose a few dollars worth of water/drinks.

I pretty much concur with what everyone else has said. My wife and I have never had a bad cruise. There will be always be those who can find fault in ANY situation. Keep in mind those people are in the vast minority. Granted vacation disasters do happen: bad weather (which can spoil a land vacation just as easily), the really rare breakdown (carnival had a rough couple years there).
I see it as a week (or more) where my wife and I don’t have to cook, clean, plan meals, or anything of that sort. Everything is just done for you. We don’t sweat little hiccups no matter what type of vacation it is.

As others have said, no penalty for upgrading your cabin if you’re on the same sailing. You might lose any OBC or other incentives present when you booked initially, though.

Depending on where you live, I tend to recommend getting certified before the cruise if at all possible. Ships don’t miss ports very often, but it does happen. Or the ship might make the port, but it could be too rough for the dive charter to go out. Save the stress. If you have the time in advance and the access, get certified before the cruise.

How was the sailaway party? Wife and I will be in a GS on Harmony next month. Any festivities/drink options? My wife likes to maximize active time, so trying to decide if this is worth the time away from other activities.

As a certified diver, I don’t recommend learning or trying diving this way. Contact your local dive shop and get certified before your cruise.

I agree with this. I just noticed you aren’t sailing until September. Definitely get certified first. You can do a discover class locally to see if you like it. Many dive shops can do this in a pool for a very low price. If you like it, get fully certified before the cruise. You’ll enjoy diving in the port visits a LOT MORE.

As a SCUBA instructor, I think you would get more out of the experience with a true open water dive. The only diving my wife and I could book in San Juan on our April HOS Cruise was shore diving due to the short port visit. You’ll have more time in St Martin so it should be a little more relaxed atmosphere.
Also check with the PADI dive center on the ship once you board. You might be able to get some materials and get ahead before you get to port so you know what to expect.

The way the concierge on Harmony recommended to us, “you can get a steak anywhere”. We were torn between Chops and 150 Central Park on HOS (we went with 150). That said, we ate at Chops the last time we cruised on Navigator. We thought it was really good.
The coastal kitchen will probably have a really good filet one night if you want steak. We thoroughly enjoyed every dinner we had in the CK. As bob said, the atmosphere is better, and you really get more of a “small ship” feel. We made friends with the other regulars, and all the waitstaff recognize you.
