Wow we have never seen this on our cruises. Is this why the steak is not available every night as an option in the main restaurant?

It very well could be plus the steak now offered occasionally in the DR that's included with the basic menu (Regal Princess) was so bad our whole table had to send it back for something else.

btw-It was the only meal that was uneatable.

    Gotta love that!!

I usually don't have much OBC on Princess because I book through the casino and that rate isn't usually combinable with all promos.

So if you book using their casino rate (if qualified) Princess won't give you FCC, loyalty, stockholder or TA on-board credit?

Crown Princess has a couple of dining rooms.

We were in the dining room at the stern and the seas were pretty rough a couple of nights.  More midship should be more stable during rough seas.

Try some snacks in Skywalkers. 😏

The new "C Class" will be introduced soon. The new "Chair Class" will, for a nominal charge, provide a semi-comfortable chair to the first and second cruisers in the same room. ( Chair Class is not available to the third and fourth persons occupying the same room)

Cruisers not booked in Chair Class may participate in the new BYOC program. One chair per person may be carried on at boarding. There will be a "sittage fee" of $15.00 per chair and each chair will be marked with an official BYOC stamp. Any chairs found onboard that do not have the official BYOC stamp will be confiscated.

I've got my order in already. :classic_biggrin:

We have friends that cruise with us that always bring a l.5 liter bottle and have never had a problem.  So we tried it once and no one said anything.  We even took it to dinner but you should have seen the looks we got!  And we had the normal corkage fee.....not double.  We felt so strange about it that we've never done it again.

We always latch onto a large water glass from the DR that holds 1 1/2 the typical amount of wine served  & carry that to dinner on subsequent evenings.

    Never a charge.😉

If you really want to eat early and the same time every day why are you even looking at Anytime.

You should probably consider traditional and try to get a table in the more stable part of the ship if that matters to you.

Also, do you want to sit with other people or have a smaller table?

    So anytime = unstable dining?

    Traditional = stable dining?

So, "should" work, but would chew through minutes rather quickly, but you got a good deal. Your going on a cruise to watch and pay a nominal fee for bad sitcoms?

Not that I would pay for unlimited internet but there is more than "bad sitcoms" to watch.

I bring plenty of things to watch & don't have to worry about streaming anything.

As others have stated only 750 ml bottles are allowed.  I have seen posts on here where pax have posted that they do enforce that rule.  However as with everything Princess does, there are exceptions.  It appears as though they are getting tighter on enforcing the alcohol rules.

You might get away with it but you always take the chance they'll keep you from boarding with it. Of course if you're driving you can always return to your car & to store it.

I haven't noticed any increase in enforcement lately especially if you're an early boarder. They frequently don't even have the wine table check point set up yet.

At distant ports their liquor check point is a joke & it's become an almost voluntary check at best.

Then by George, I’m going to try it. Unless our steward is still in there. Wouldn’t want to district him or get in his way.

We experienced a crew member cleaning our cabin one time & we just told him we were there to drop off our luggage, dumped it, put our valuables in the safe & left for lunch.

It's no addition effort on his part as long as you don't want to try & unpack or watch TV.

    say what ?

All fire doors have to have access at all times & are not locked.

People doing B2B cruises have to be able to reach their cabins at all times before 1 PM.

I leave the ship on every B2B turnaround with my suitcase and have never had any problem returning to my cabin as soon as I re-board the ship with my luggage prior to noon. No one will give you a second look when carrying your luggage even if it's the first leg of your voyage.

I tried anytime dining last May on a Coastal Cruise and the first night was so busy that I gave up and went to the Crown Grill.  I was forgotten there even though they were half full and waited forever between courses.  I think these short cruises have trouble so I am going to go with the late traditional seating this next round.

It sounds like you just hit it at peak times. Next cruise vary you eating time slightly & you'll find a big difference.

I just can't figure out how anyone has any OBC leftover at the end of a cruise?  :classic_unsure:

Easy. Lots of OBC and don't spend money for tours, drinks, specialty meals or  unnecessary junk.😏

I’m not saying it. CeeCee59 said Princess now has the cabins ready at boarding. That’s good news to me.

We loved being able to drop everything instead of carrying it to lunch.

Some cabins might be ready & others not but we've always managed to at least drop off our bags in the cabin ether way.

Even though some fire doors may be shut, the in-transit people still have to have access to their cabins & they just open the doors to go back & forth.

Hmm.  Did not notice anything different from first day to the last.  But it does have a battery so that may have been an issue you experienced.

Nothing else than the lag to open the cabin door.

The sensors for getting on & off the ship, charging drinks, shops, casino all remained the same. I believe they use a different signal so it wouldn't be affected.

Thank you all for your answers.  A couple of follow up questions

    1. What time is muster? Usually around 3 PM

    2. What time are we allowed in our staterooms? ( we just have a mini suite)

    Thanks!

Sometimes they ask people not to use their cabins before 1 PM but you can always go to the cabin & drop off your luggage earlier and then go to lunch.
