Everyone has a right to their opinion but how was the table in your way? It is tucked into a corner! Just curious! I did not like the chair as I felt it was in my way but never complained  about it.

Neither did we so we just shoved it in the closet to use as a shoe rest.

Everyone else, would you really order 2 entree in a land based restaurant, to pick at them?

There's a big difference between ordering multiple dishes to just pick at them and completely finishing them.

Looks cute but wouldn't want to announce to everyone when we are out of the cabin at the Meet and Greet.

    What difference does it make?

If they want to know if your're in the cabin all they do is knock.

Haven't you ever noticed that they ask your cabin number at the door? I think they'd "suggest" that you go to the Lido if you need more food.

We've never sailed HAL. I just stumbled across this thread by chance.

Just the whole idea of charging extra doesn't sit well with me even though I haven't ordered an additional meal in many years other than lobster tail on Princess.

It should prove interesting to see how it pans out with their loyal customers.

Thats the first think i asked too 😂🤣 i can see my teen giving a fake room number

We have never sailed HAL but charging $10 for an additional course would deter me from even considering them.

Somehow I don't believe they check each persons cabin number to keep check if they've eaten a prior meal.

I was on Caribbean Princess two weeks ago; it was the first ship for Ocean Medallion.  As you approach the cabin your medallion will activate the door and unlock it; but it does not open the door.  You will have to  push the handle down to open; so for security if you think someone is following you; you have a couple options.  First you can keep walking past your cabin;  the medallion will start to activate, but stops if you are not close to cabin door or if you are just walking by.  Second, like I mentioned the door will be activated; but you can not open until you actually push lever down.  Third option would be to leave your medallion in the cabin and use your cruise card; or keep your medallion in a purse or pants pocket.  The door will not activate if medallion is in purse.  I had it in my jeans pocket and walked up to cabin. Door would not activate until I pulled medallion out of my pocket.  Hope this helps

We noticed that when we first arrived it worked better than at the end of the cruise. Possibly the battery was getting weaker?

That is the problem with a name like "Cruise Critic". Some one time only posters come here, post a complaint and are never heard from again...oh well.

Maybe they should rename it to Cruise Critique . 😏

My wife , wake up and ask her tell me what we're  doing today . No need to read the Patter for activities  she's got it memorized . No thinking while cruising for me. Married 42 to years to my wonderful  wife.

So she tell you what you're going to do each day on the cruise?

Doesn't sound that good to me. I really like to make my own decisions as to what might appeal to me.

Just looked and the cheapest OV available is now almost $600 per person more than when we booked. Actually the cheapest Inside is now more than we paid for the OV when we booked. The OBC promo is the same - $200 per person for Inside/OV and $300 per person for all higher cabins. I'm not real sure my wife will go for an extra $1,200 on this cruise as it's the third cruise for this year. We just got hit with final payment for our 15 day connieusseur cruise tour to Alaska (plus the EZ Air fee) in May. That was a quick $8k. Ouch! We also still have to pay for the 12 day Northern Lights cruise. They aren't giving that one away either. 12 days in an OV for $6k.   Sigh... Major discussions will be held. A squishy cabin sucks but an extra $1.2k on the cruise isn't good either.

I'd go with separating the beds and learn for next cruise.

I received $100 OBC for a one-day Seattle to Vancouver cruise - $50 for shareholder and $50 for military. My only problem was finding something to spend the non-refundable shareholder credit on in the short time onboard.

    The casino of course. 😉

The newer Princess ships--like the Regal--while having many fine features got rid of some of our favorites, especially a wrap around promenade deck.  Not all 'new' ideas are good ones.

They at least segregate the Captains circle hosts area with a partition so people could talk to her without having to yell over the music.

Much to much noise in the Piazza for my taste most of the day.

I misplaced my Medallion on our CB cruise in January. Guest services determined it was  in our cabin. Once I knew that I didn’t really worry about it much, I was using my cruise card more than the Medallion anyway. Found it a day or so later in the safe. I was surprised the signal could be picked up from inside the safe.

It wasn't picked up from inside the safe at all but from the last point that was recorded, which was entering your room.

On the Regal when we were on it in Feb the upper deck 17 they still didn't have sensors installed so the last place that was reported to the computer was the stairs leading to deck 17. There were no sensors at the Retreat pool at all.

We prefer anytime dining. We adjust what time we want to be seated by the show times.

From experience we know that eating in the DR can take anywhere from 1.5 hours to 2.5 depending on if your seated @ a table for 2 or table of 6.

We also like it because we love meeting new people and we look at it like a surprise gift of whom we are eating with. Most of the time its very interesting especially when you meet others from different countries.

We go find out what the wait time is, if any, go grab a cocktail and people watch. There is always entertainment in the atrium to watch as well.

    I

You obviously enjoy talking to others more than going to a show.

I would be long gone if dinner took 2 1/2 hours to finish.

Maybe everyone should start bringing chairs from the lounges back to their rooms...that might get the message across. I, personally, hadn't even thought about the lack of a chair being an issue but now I am thinking back to the number of times that I HAVE appreciated somewhere (other than the bed) to sit.....

That's my idea but get one from the pool deck.

    They're lighter. 😉

Paul   we have tried that in the past.   Problem we faced was the tables did not have the table numbers on them.   Only way we could find out was seeing the MD.    They don't make it easy.   lol

That's very common on most of the ships.

No numbers are put on the tables until dining time.

Princess has generously provided you with a "shopping opportunity". The have for sale in their OM store all manner of insert cards including those that denote status. Wasn't that nice of them? You are only limited by the size of your wallet and/or OBC account.

I've created my own political themed insert for my next Medallion trip. 😁
