  1. cruisetimetables.com offers a search utility that works well for me.
  2. The following is from the Solo Trips and Tips website. Although written for solo travelers there is much we should all keep in mind when traveling in Italy and elsewhere. 40 Best Italy Travel Tips
  3. We have cruised the Med on Princess, Celebrity, and Viking. We have also cruised with Royal Caribbean in the Caribbean for the benefit of our grandson. For us, Med cruising is more about the itinerary than the cruise line or ship. Having said that, I would not choose Royal Caribbean. RC is great for family cruising in the Caribbean, but not for the Med. Don't discount Viking due to cost before putting the numbers on a spreadsheet. Consider that Viking fares include airfare, some excursions in each port, specialty dining, laundry, and more. You may be pleasantly surprised. Having never been to Europe, I highly recommend you plan to spend a few days in your embarkation and disembarkation cities. Your travel will not be inexpensive and you're flying a long way in both directions...make the most of your trip by enjoying Rome and Athens for a few days on each end. Again, first European experience...give yourself time to get over jet lag and acclimate yourself to a different culture. Enjoy your adventure...
  4. Do you use a TA? If so, have your TA follow up for you. If you're going to continue to sail with Princess you're going to need a good TA to go to bat for you. We accumulated 500+ cruise days with Princess before we pulled the plug. We feel Celebrity, Regent, and Viking offer so much more at not much of an increase in cost. Also, if you don't use a TA, consider doing so. You'll get better pricing, more OBC, and much better service.
  5. Thank you, @euro cruiser. The two sites you provided contain much valuable information. We can't seem to visit Italy without including Roma in our itinerary. We always come across restoration projects in major European cities...it's a fact of life. We especially enjoy seeing what has been done on a future visit.
  6. Would you be kind enough to provide a link to that website? In response to your initial post I did a search and came up with nothing unusual...seeing no mention of a multi billion dollar grant earmarked for restoration of historical sites.
  7. @gotabejoe... We're doing basically the same as you in September. Here's our plan: Twelve Transfers from LHR to Radisson Blu Edwardian Hampshire Hotel at Leicester Square. We have used Twelve Transfers in the past and have no problem recommending them. Four nights at Radisson Blu Edwardian...have not stayed here; however, good reviews and well located in the West End for Broadway shows, excellent dining, and shopping...also easy access to transportation to all parts of London. Twelve Transfers, hotel → Southampton on day of embarkation.
  8. This information should be known to your car service or easily obtained from the Falmouth Port Authority on the day of your port call. If there is more than one tender dock in Falmouth, the one used by the Regal Princess may not be determined until the date in question. You can try emailing the Port Authority (info@falmouthharbour.co.uk) to request that information or provide the phone number (+44 (0)1326 213537) to your car service.
  9. @firefly333... Your number show taxes and fees at 40%! I checked our booking for the last time we stayed at Albergo del Senato in 2021 when those fees totaled 10%. I don't know when the increase took effect, but that could be a substantial portion of the price increase. The 40% rate could be an error and worth a check. Your quote is in euros, so exchange rates does not figure in your numbers. If it's a refundable rate, I would go ahead and book it. Cancellation is very easy if the rate reduces or you find a different hotel.
  10. We used Twelve Transfers in 2017 for an airport transfer and will use them again in September for LHR → London Hotel and London Hotel → Southampton transfers. The transfer to the cruise port will cost £195.00 which is at the lower end of what I have seen. I have no problem recommending them...
  11. I charge as much as I can on credit cards when traveling. I have downloaded monthly credit card statements since 2008 and have them filed on my computer. If you happen to do the same, a search may help you find the tour company and restaurant names. Hard copies of statement would offer the same information. Old email correspondence would also yield names and dates. Also, this board is still showing posts well before 2010. Perhaps you posted about your trip around 2014. Good luck...
  12. Beyond 9134 is not listed...
  13. Interesting article... Apple Find My vs. Google Find My Device: There's a Clear Winner So Far
  14. Follow this link for a very good explanation...
  15. I asked the same question over on the Regent board. Some responses are slanted toward Regent, but there are others you might find useful.
  16. There's been talk of Apple introducing a new version of AirTags in 2025. Whether this new version will also support Android is anyone's guess.
  17. For those new to Airtags, you should know their direct range is about 33 feet...Bluetooth's connectivity range. Locating a misplaced item, a piece of luggage, requires someone with an iPhone passing within 33 feet of your item. If you secure an Airtag onto your dog's collar and he runs off into the woods, FindMy will report its location when last within range. His current location will not be updated until someone carrying an iPhone comes close.
  18. No leather key ring or other type of holder is required. Having said that, I prefer to secure it in a hidden location within my luggage (between the luggage liner and luggage body) in the event TSA has the need to go through my luggage for some reason.
  19. Name tags? We've never received name tags from Regent. The only tags we have received from Regent are luggage tags. From what you have told us, I would be very suspicious of the email you received. Does the sender's email address include end with @rssc.com? If not, do not respond...it's likely a phishing expedition.
  20. @Hambagahle... Thank you very much!!
  21. True, but new ship growing pains should have settled down long before now. We sailed on Grandeur for 32 days during January and February and experienced no such food issues. In fact, there were no issues I would attribute to the ship being new. Perhaps new kitchen crew and dining staff were brought onboard in Athens and it's taking awhile to get them trained properly. Shouldn't be an issue, but sometimes it is. In 2011 we did a B2B on two different Princess ships...first, Island Princess; second, Ruby Princess. Although the menus were the same on both ships, the preparation was done so much better on the Island Princess it was difficult to tell the dishes were supposed to be identical. Kitchen staff, from the Food and Beverage Manager to the chefs to the line cooks make a huge difference in food quality and consistency.
  22. I would be interested in seeing what's available. Would you be kind enough to post the Butler Request Form? Thank you...
  23. To request items not normally stocked, an email to specialrequests@rssc.com will do it for you.
  24. Your driver will know where to meet you...
