  1. You're right. The situation is frustrating. Carnival is trying maintain the itinerary or something close to it, all the while trying to negotiation port changes for dozens of ships competing with several other lines in a similar situation.

Hopefully you can find a way to reduce your stress over the terrible situation those tour operators on devasted islands you were to visit are in by having not recovered enough from the natural disasters to provide you with more affordably priced tours.

This will go over most people's heads.

  2. Question: Has anyone determined if the CCL bottled water is different than the Tap Water on the ships?? It says purified...not Spring water etc...?

Since I don't drink bottled water, I was just curious?:)

I only drink filtered water from the Fridge.:) Which is not the best water, but better than tap water.

The bottled water sold onboard is loaded into the ship on turnaround days, it comes from land sources... the ship drinking water comes from sources available at sea, and will undergo much more filtration than the home filtered variety

  3. I'd like to know how you feel someone is are "conned" if once a day service is chosen, or a newbie.

We have been cruising non stop 2-3 times a year since 1981.

We are far from newbies and choose once a day service on our last Carnival cruise.

Yes, we were offered AM, PM or both.

I figured the guy works hard enough, and we keep the room clean enough, that 1x would do.

If we needed anything in between, like towels, TP, etc, all we needed to do was ask. Never a problem.

If YOU feel YOU need service twice a day, fine, as long as it is offered, YOU are entitled to it, and I may just request it again on our next time with Carnival.

Probably wined and moaned about the tablecloths and chocolates on the pillows being gone too.

  4. Just noticed on Carnivals site for In-Stateroom beverages that they offer 12 pack of water for $4.50. It shows that it is a 16.9 oz bottle. Just want to confirm that it would be twelve 16.9 oz bottles for a total of $4.50? Sounds awfully cheap...that's why I want to make sure before I purchase it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

That is correct, yes. And it is cheap, when you compare it to single bottle prices in port or if you buy on ship by the bottle.

It's not cheap compared to sams, but i am not vacationing at sams!

  5. Just sailed the Liberty 7-Feb-16 for the 3rd. time, and noticed these things that are now History.

    1) No more chocolate at night on your rack.

    2) No more items in your bathroom, just bar soap and the 2 liquids in the shower.

    3) Promenade deck Sushi at 5pm. is history.

    4) Maitre' D no longer comes to any table on your cruise.

    5) No more table cloths, or neatly folded napkins at diner. Table cloths are only formal nights now.

    6) Pass guest get together's, with drinks and hors d'oeuvres History! Was told only for Carnival Platinum members now.

    I will still have fun.

  6. I read that Carnival does not allow bottled or canned soda to be brought on-board, but I LOVE Diet Coke, and have to drink decaffeinated. Could I bring some cans of decaffeinated Diet Coke on with me?

    Thanks all!

    13 days and counting!!

    Joy

Read again on the carnival site, you have misread.

  7. Enter your legal first name in the first name box leave the middle name box blank, if your passport shows a hyphenated last name.

Enter your hypenated last name (with no hyphen or space) in the last name box. Some of the last letters will drop off, but that is ok. Take passport and boarding pass with you to port, show them to the check in agent, enjoybyour cruise.

  8. Most importantly!!!!

Make sure the names of the guests are correct and that your name is not the only name booked.

As far as boarding passes, yes, each will have their own with their own name.

If you forget them or don't print them carnival will do that at the check in area.

Make sure all travellers' names are correct!

  9. We ALWAYS use our sail and sign card, NEVER a credit card and NEVER have had a problem 27 cruises so far lol!. You have to use one card though. We usually use my husbands, as he keeps this on him at all times (sometimes I don't take mine when we leave the room - like when dressing for dinner, etc), so no need to "hide" anything.

I was told that it is best not to use it as the steward will then have access to your safe.

I trust the room stewards as much as the next person, so I have no concerns whatsoever in using my sail and sign card. I use a carnival gift card sometimes, too. I keep it in my wallet, or in my waterproof box on my lanyard.

If you are taking a gift card to use for the safe, keep in mind it will probably need to have the wide magnetic strip on the back, the narrow one is very finicky.

Before anyone wants to debate me on this, I say this is what I know from experience, to each their own, and happy cruising!

  10. We have a cruise booked for Spring Break next year! My husband, myself and our two teenagers. So, today I booked a cruise with my BFF since I was a kid - for 3 weeks later!! March on the Freedom, April on the Breeze. Has anyone cruised this closely? I am SO excited but for some reason a little nervous too. Maybe I am being weird. LOL And, before you ask, because of timing and things going on, we only had these 2 months to book them.

I MUST see no more than "60 days to cruising" when I log in to Carnival or I get very very grumpy. I have a 9 cruise streak going of one every less than 60 days and it carries through Spring of next year.
