  1. Okay the tape is out of the suitcase. I was really hoping the doors were metal so the cute magnets I bought would stick with no muss, no fuss. Back to the dollar store for new decorations and command strips. And more party beads for the M&G and St. Pat's :)

That's a stop I haven't made yet - it's been too darn cold to get out and about!

  2. If you're referring to the wine pairing, it's $15. There are 5 wines to sample and a few nibbles of food that go with the wines. The somallier explains how wine and food affect the flavour of the other.

You are correct - it's $15.00pp. For some reason, $10 was stuck in my head!

  3. We always dress up. I wear a nice dress and DH wears dress slacks, button down shirt & tie. It's more along the lines of what you would wear to a wedding rather than anything formal. There are plenty of people that opt to skip elegant night and eat in the buffet, but remember, you will be missing out on the MDR food that evening. Do what's right for you and your family.

  4. what is the cost of the wine testing I see on the daily listing of things to do?

I think the FOOD taste bar is free, but I am sure the wine taste would not be.

Wine tasting on ships with a steak house is $10.00pp. We have done it 3 times and have had different wines each time, and have loved all of the wines offered. They do a nice pairing with small bites of different foods for each wine type.

  5. Doing our first cheft table next month.

What choices of wine do they offer?

You will get champagne as you're waiting for the entire group to show up and while you are touring the galley. You will have a choice of red or white during dinner - I believe we had Cabernet and Souvignon Blanc. The wines we had were quite delicious. I wish I could remember the names. Doing the Chefs Table again on the Dream next month.

  6. I wouldn't have 4 cruises booked this year if it was half as bad as some of the negative comments and reviews out there. I have seen plenty negatives for other cruise lines as well. The Dre as well as most of the other cruisers on CCL are the best. We have made great friends with people we have met on a Carnival ship.

  7. Which FB page are you reading? I belong to multiple groups and see some negative comments, but not an over abundance. Carnival is a great cruiseline and value. I have taken 3 RCCL cruises and I thoght they paled in comparison to CCL. Food is better, the crew is friendlier and the atmosphere is fun. I like the Conquest class ships - which Glory is. Go into it with an open mind and don't read too much in the negativity. Some people complain just to complain.

  8. HATED it!! On Carnival Liberty last January (2014) the service was SO slow, the food was SO forgettable that given the choice we will NEVER sail on a Carnival ship with American Table menu in the MDR ever again.

Granted at that time the new menu had just been rolled out, but it was so bad my husband describes it as the worst cruise ever! He will never cruise on Liberty again. And I will not book a cruise if American Table is the MDR menu. We had the same problems that you did, including a minimum 1.5 to 2 hour time for a very mediocre meal.

I did express our displeasure in our post-cruise survey and also wrote to the company. Thankfully it has not been incorporated in other than the original 4 ships (as far as I know).

We just got back from 8 day Southern Caribbean cruise on Carnival Conquest and thoroughly enjoyed our MDR Anytime dining with the regular menu. The bar/drinks staff was a bit limited and seemed to be stretched a bit thin, so waits for ice tea, drinks and coffee were a bit long, but otherwise Great service. Loved our January Cruise again!

Well, sorry to break the news, but American table is supposed to be rolled out in all ships witchin the next 6 months...

We actually liked the menu. I agree that Liberty ATD service was horrible. But I blame that on the waitstaff and kitchen, not the menu's. We ended up eating in the steakhouse 4 (would have been 5, but we did Chefs table one night) out of the 7 nights because of the service. We will never do ATD again because of that experience.

  9. if we are both forced to buy the package then this is not possible. you cant just buy a beer, I will have to use the package, and according to all the posts no sharing is allowed. My original post was just a frustration as i dont think they should make everyone in your booking by the package if they are going to cap it anyway, and some people cant drink due to medical reasons. we have 7 total people 3 rooms in our booking accourding to carnival rep directly everyone has to buy the package, not just our room.

If the rep told you that all 3 rooms had to get it because of the same booking, that's incorrect. Each person over 21 in a stateroom needs to purchase it, if one wants it, both have to purchase it. So if you have a cabin with 2 (or however many) people that don't want it, that cabin does not have to purchase it.

  10. So with the slots, do I need to input an amount that I want to play? I know that it has asked that before. If it does I guess I just put the amount we have in onboard credit?

    Thanks for the help!

Yes.You just set up a players account at the slot machine with your S&S card, create a PIN number and deposit what ever amount from your S&S to your players account. You can then cash it out to your S&S card and take it to to the cashier to withdrawal the funds from your players account. This also works good for getting cash instead of incurring ATM fees.
