  1. As you can see below, there are no food restrictions when boarding. You should not have any issues bringing your cake pops on the ship. Have a great cruise and ENJOY!

    Q. Are there restrictions on what we can bring aboard?

    A. RESTRICTED ITEMS – SAFETY AND SECURITY POLICY

In order to maintain a safe and secure environment, Carnival prohibits bringing certain items onboard. Additionally, we reserve the right to confiscate (and destroy) any articles that in our discretion are considered dangerous or pose a risk or inconvenience to the safety and security of the ship, or our guests, and no compensation will be provided.

    • Electronics such as laptops, cameras, cellular phones, etc. are allowed on board when used with proper caution.

    • Electrical devices such as fans, power strips, multi plug box outlets/adaptors, and extension cords are allowed on board when used with proper caution. 2. If they are a recognized vendor for the cruise line, then their baked goods would meet the USPH requirements to be "reliably sourced", meeting all local health regulations.

We did not do the wedding through the cruiseline, therefore , they were not "recognized" vendors. They never asked about the cake, nor did they even look in the cake box. However, You are not allowed to bring unpackaged food off the ship.

  3. DD got married in Key West last March. The Wedding Co. Gave her a cake. We were allowed to bring it back on board and took it to the dining room the next night (that night we all ate in the steakhouse). The servers cut it up for us and sang "Happy Wedding" to them.

  4. This is our first cruise (my husband and I) I don't know what to say or do at this point. We will receive our package soon.

Not sure what you mean by "package". Are you using a Travel Agent (TA) and is it something they are sending to you?

What ship and when are you sailing? Do you have any specific questions?

Feel free to ask away, there are many here with loads of cruising experience. Most are friendly...;)

  5. Sorry, but I too have a hard time believing some of your complaints. Slots not paying? Quit feeding them.... Maybe your DH is coming down with something? We keep our house at 72-73 degrees during the dead of summer when it's in the 100's out...As far as the trash can, the stewards ALWAYS place it under the vanity stool. Check there for it.

We have been on the Freedom 3 times and have never had any issues at all. The room stewards have been the best out of all our cruises. We find the casino to be one of the better ones. As far as the food goes, I don't eat at the buffets, just not my thing. But if you are having room service and pizaa (which is delicious) then how can you be loosing weight? Not to mention fish & chips, deli, tandoori, Mongolian wok, Guys burgers, Blue Iguana, and of course, my favorite, the Steakhouse.

  6. Your boarding pass and luggage tags will have FTTF on them. You will show the boarding pass to the port workers and they will direct you to the priority lines. Make sure to let the porters know so they will put a special tag on your luggage as well.

You will have a sticker on your sign & sail card to identify that you have FTTF.

    Have a great cruise! :)

  7. Its always interesting to me that the mentality is "if someone else did it, why can't I". A perfect example of the ME generation.

Just a thought on "checked" water. Luggage is delivered to the outside of your room and it wouldn't surprise me to see some less than honest folks help themselves to the cases. Just saying.

And, yes, you can fill your suitcase with rum runners and pack a wine cellar full of wine. Just remember if they are confiscated you have no recourse but to accept it. And you do know that your carryon goes through an x-ray prior to boarding and I have seen people pulled over and asked to remove restricted items.

Oh, lastly, the baggage handlers work very hard and it is a "Task" to get all the checked luggage to the rooms in good time and it puts several elevators out of service for the duration. Can you imagine the chaos if every passenger decided it was OK to check their liquids. Can't even imagine how these boards would light up if people found their luggage soaking wet from leaking bottles or covered in sugary residue from exploding soda bottles or cans. Consideration of fellow passengers would seem like a nice idea...but then it is the WE generation.

It was a simple question about water... Why the lecture on smuggling? Isn't there enough controversy on the subject without coming down on the OP's post?

Between DH & I, we take 1 12 pack of Diet Pepsi, 1 12 pack of diet Dr.Pepper and 1 12 pack of water in a rolling carry-on. We open the packs so the screener has easy access to the bottles to check. Never had any issues. We almost always replenish in one of the ports also.

  8. So you go to the guest services...as in the front desk where you go when you have issues or questions to get the escort to the tenders? Do they just have staff dedicated to doing this? I assume the people at the desk just can't up and leave at any time.

Yes. With FTTF, you get to use the VIP line too. They will have someone escort you down. The last cruise, they had one of the ships officers take us down. We felt extra special. :)

  9. Try to be one of the last ones there. You won't be crammed up against the wall. We always book AFT and the stairs for our muster on Conquest class are right at our stateroom door. We wait until the very last and go down the stairs. Right to our muster station. Last one's in, first one's out. ;)

  10. So if we have a suite on a small ship and book a carnival excursion. I assume we have no reason to get FTTF?

Ive gone once to customer service in all my cruises...

You will not have luggage express, you will not be able to go to your stateroom early, and you will not have priority tender - if you have a tender port (unless it's a Carnival excursion, then you will board with your group). You will have priority boarding and use of the VIP lounge prior to boarding and that's it.

  11. Priority tended is the best part of FTTF. You go to guest services and they will escort you down to the front of the tender line. It's great!

They only release FTTF in small beaches because the number of available spots are directly based on how many platinums/diamonds are on your sailing. Check for it daily...even multiple times a day.

  12. Costa Maya has a VERY,VERY long pier. There are ferry buses you can ride for a tip. There is a dolphin (tiny) pool where you can pay to ride them.

Only liquor to buy the last time in that port shopping area was Tequila.

The beach chair ride in Mahogany Bay is $12 -- it's a short walk to the beach through some mangroves.

I believe you may be thinking about Progresso. Costa Maya has a relatively short pier and no busses.

Costa Maya has a nice port area with a pool and a swim up bar, a few shops , and a couple places to eat. I suggust you take a taxi to Majaual. Great beaches and restaurants/bars.

  13. Ok, that's what I wasn't sure on either, he wouldn't need 12 red bull's but he may want to bring a few, but I told him I would ask you guys because I really didn't know.

I want to bring cherry pepsi. Something I know I can't get there...

If anyone has any info on the energy drinks let me know!!

I answered above. Yes, he can bring some.

  14. You can take them with you....just bring them back;). Your steward will replace them as needed, but there is also a towel exchange kiosk on the Lido deck. We normally make a pit stop there to change them out after coming back from the beach so we don't get sand all over the room.
