Pardon my ignorance but I've never purchased alcohol from Carnival or brought it onboard from a port. How is it delivered? Does the steward place it in your cabin or does he/she just leave it in the hallway outside your cabin? On my last cruise it looked like everyone that purchase alcohol onboard had to pick it up from the gift shop as I saw a ton of people in the store collecting it on the last day.
They will deliver it and put it inside your stateroom. You can also pick up the liquor purchased on board in the gift shop after 10:00 pm the night before disembarking if you purchase it after a certain time that evening. That is what we normally do.

Check out Shoretrips dot com. I know they plan weddings on a lot of islands for people who are cruising. I'm guessing because they have this as a pacakge, there would be some sort of "What if" type of clause as well, or at least a plan B.
We had the same issue in Ocho Rios. Our ship pulled almost all the way to the dock and then started backing out. Said the water was too rough to dock. I saw one bride standing on the promedade just hysterical as we sailed away from her wedding venue.
This was another reason why DD opted to get married on our stop in Key West. Ship happens and if it did, she had a FL marriage license and had a plan B to get married on the the beach in FT. Lauderdale and just use the cruise as a pre-celebration :). Luckily it worked out and she had a gorgeous wedding on the beach in Key West.

Sorry to be more clear- we have always travelled as a quad cabin with our kids. In the past our rooms all had the standard bunk beds (with the bottom sofa being the bottom bunk and a pull down).
In the videos- it seems like the width of the sofa is much smaller than the what would be needed for a bed.
And yes- you are right the cushions remove! :) thanks!
It's the same size sofa.

Do a quick search on Cozumel weddings...there are quite a few sites that do weddings. DD looked into getting married in Coz on our cruise, but there were too many variables with the getting the marriage license, etc and we just did not have enough time in port to do all that was required. So she opted to get married in Key West and it was beautiful.

Bring your own shampoo and soap...I do. It's a goody basket provided by outside vendors. Get over it. SHEESH,

I say go for the gusto. Every girl wants a proposal they will never forget.... Most people nowadays want to have pictures of the special moment and it's not such a "private" thing anymore.

Sorry you had a miserable time...but I think if it were truly "the worst cruise ever" the ship would have sunk. Ask the people on the Titanic.:eek:

several years ago, they gave "free" upgrades. Now there are only upsells. Generally speaking, the only way to get a free upgrade is to book a GTY and hope for the best or book one of the specials with a free category upgrade.

CCL has a 24 month contract with Miami-Dade county for the Vista to be used within a 3 year time frame when she starts to sail. This was according to the Miami Hearald as of yesterday. I would think she would do a repo cruise from NYC TO Miami.

Thanks for all the tips so far. He was hoping to use the Jumbotron (I think), and yes it is for the 15th :D
Yay! Are you on our roll call here or on our FB group? It would nice to keep up with this for when and where it's happening! (You prob don't want to put it on FB for her to see though).

Hello all, We are set to go on a cruise this spring break on the Carnival Dream. My son is bringing his girlfriend and he wants to pop the question while we are on board. Does anyone know how we can get a hold of the cruise director ahead of time or how we can go about doing this a unique way.
Awww, awesome! Contact John Heald via his FB page. He will help set it up or get you in contact with the CD. You may need to remind him a couple days before you sail though. You also might want to consider gifting them a romantic dinner with a bottle of champs in the Steakhouse that evening. :)
What week in March? We are on the 15th and would love to see this! Good luck and let us know how it turns out!

You can switch to your time dining online and be put in the wait list if they are full. People change dining assignments all the time and spots always open up.

We just got off of the Freedom and I have a sever case of pneumonia symptoms started Friday morning Is anyone else feeling ill
You do know that it can take up to 10 days for your first symptoms to appear. In all likelihood, you picked up the virus before you boarded the ship.

will they let us both do check in process early I know both rooms wont be ready and both do not have priority tendering.I will need to set up accounts on second room
You need FTTF for each stateroom. Call your PVP or Carnival and see if they will do an audit of FTTF purchases for your sailing. Sometimes that will free up a couple slots. No gurantee they will, but no harm in trying.

Get it renewed now and save yourself the headache. There's no point in delaying it.

Yay. I am so glad they aren't sending her to Galveston. She should have some good itineraries!

Thanks for the information. That will give us time to enjoy one last breakfast on the Magic :)
They will shut the buffet lines down fairly early. But the ice cream stations will still be up and running :D

Trust me, with the amount of food you will get, you won't want to order more than one entree. :D there is so much food and it is delicious! Between the two of us, we have pretty much tried everything on the menu (we eat there multiple times every cruise) and we phase never had a bad meal. DH loves the lobster bisque and orders it every time, plus a salad an an app. They more lenient on the apps and may let you order another if you ask nicely. I couldn't decide one night between the ice cream or cheesecake and they brought me both :).
-
I agree with the previous post. 10:00-10:30 time frame. They like to start the boarding process ASAP. We have boarded while people were still being processed through customs.

The table assignment will also be on your S&S card. If they are not the same table go visit the Maître'd and they will fix it. Especially since it's your kids. Don't stress too much over it, it will all work out fine.
-
Or you can buy the FTTF for 50 bucks per cabin and get the some of the same perks
Or you could say that plats/diamonds have the perk of FREE FTTF, whereas others have to pay for it. ;)
-
Thanks! I just looked through the menu and I'm excited to try it! I like all of the fish options and port-inspired options.
How does the "for the table" part work?
They stopped the "for the table" offerings except for the bread basket. You can ask them for a bread basket for just your party though.

Should be 2 formal nights (probably the first and last Sea Day).
They won't have formal night on the last sea day because that is usually the night before disembarkation.
OP, the formal nights should be Monday and Friday. That is the usual set up for 7 night sailings.

I'm new to Carnival and just booked 2 cabins, interior and ocean suite. My reservation shows that I have 'temporary VIFP status'. I'm not even sure what VIFP status is, but I've seen posts here and it seems it's usually for frequent cruisers. Does anyone know how long the 'temporary' lasts, and also if I can benefit from any special perks, discounts, drink coupons, etc?
With your first booking, you get a temporary status until you actually board the ship - this is just in case you cancel and don't sail. You will get a free bottle of water each sailing once you turn red (2nd cruise - 24 sail days), VIFP party for gold and above......really no big perks or discounts until you reach platinum/diamond status. Carnivals FAQ page will show you the different levels and how it works.

Most of the negative posts are so over dramatic...I booked a gurantee and they didn't put my stateroom next to so and so....my boss is a jerk and it's Carnival's fault...it took 15 minutes in line at the buffet to get my food...no gluten free ice cream cones, so now my cruise is totally ruined and it's the WORST cruise ever! Read some reviews on other sites about hotels, resorts, cars, cities, restaurants, etc. It's a wonder anyone goes anywhere with all of the one sided and over the top negativity and complaints. Some people love to complain and want that "oh poor you" attention.
The reviews that are too over the top positive are annoying too. I look for the balanced reviews that show the good and the bad.
Heck, our first cruise we were following the path of Hurricane Dennis. 25 foot swells, barf bags everywhere, didn't get back in to the Port of Tampa until 2 am the morning after we were supposed to dock. We had the best time despite all of that and have been hooked ever since.
