  1. Just got off the phone with our TA - Carnival gave us a full refund. Yay!!  Thanks @K_e_short and @Fouremco for your words of wisdom.  We are keeping our flight for now - lots of time to cancel it, but we are not expecting the rules to change so are 'planning' on a Canadian Christmas this year - again.

  2. Just canceled our Xmas cruise, so sad. Our TA said it was too risky to wait it out and see if US would accept the AZ/Pfizer mix, as Carnival is being very accommodating about cancellations right now - hoping to get full refund, versus a mix of refund of FCC.  We're keeping our flights for now as we have up to 24 hours before departure to change it, hoping things change.  Yet another Covid travel plan canceled. Sigh.

  3. I'm lost in the rules of flight vaccine requirements and cruise specific requirements.  For flights - is the expectation that US will only allow CDC approved Vaccinated people into US? So no Astra-Zeneca 2 shot people (my husband) and no AZ/Pfizer combos (me)?

I just posted on Carnival board - asking about their specific rules as well.  If any awesome Canadians on here understand the Carnival rules for trips out of Florida, feel free to help me out by clarifying their rules too!

    Thanks!

  4. I'm so confused.  Can someone please confirm the requirements for Carnival ships leaving out of Florida:

1 - Husband has 2 doses of Astra Zeneca.  Is he allowed to cruise out of US as AZ is approved by WHO?

2 - I have 1 dose of AZ and 1 dose of Pfizer.  Am I allowed to cruise out of US? (I believe I am not - so I have to say I am not vaccinated on the vaccination form and cross my fingers that I get allowed on as "un-vaccinated"?)

    Thanks so much

  5. Hi,

I just realized we may have a problem flying home to Canada - we are booked on a Carnival cruise that returns to Miami on Sat, Jan 1.  Our flight home is at 5pm out of St. Petes, so we need a covid test done that day to fly home.  How long does it take to get a PCR result  (I saw that Canada requires it be "non-rapid")?  Where can you get it done in the US? CVS or Walgreens type locations?  Panicking!!!!

  6. Hi,

My husband and I are booking a cruise for April 2022 (fingers crossed).  We are looking at PG and at Windstar.  The PG cruise is an extra $500.  We are not big drinkers (probably would drink 2-3 drinks per day each).  Looking for Pros/Cons of each and recommendations?  We are late 40s, looking to dive, snorkel, etc.  We are staying in an OWB for 5 days in Moorea prior to the cruise.  Itineraries are pretty much the same:

    Windstar (Windspirit):

    Moorea: 1 day

    Raiatea: 2 days

    Motu Mahana: 1 day

    Bora Bora: 2 days

    Huahine: 1 day

    Paul Gauguin:

    Huahine: 1 day

    Motu Mahana: 1 day

    Bora Bora: 2 days

    Moorea: 2 days

  7. We are trying to pick between Trunk Bay and Magens Bay for our stop next week.  We are in port from 8am to 5pm.

I've picked through lots of posts, trying to decide, can anyone confirm what I've pulled together?

My understanding: Trunk Bay - ultimate gorgeous beach, but can be rough. Has snorkeling trail. To get there:

    1. Take taxi to Red Hook - cost? duration?

    2. Buy return ferry tickets - take ferry - cost? duration?

    3. Take Taxi to Trunk Bay - cost? duration?

    4. Depart Trunk Bay to ensure you get ferry 2 hours before ship departure.

Ferries run every hour on the hour.

Magens Bay is a taxi ride away from the port, beautiful beach, but not as spectacular as Trunk - very calm. Nothing special for snorkeling.

    Cost? Duration of taxi?

Thanks for any recommendations and confirmations of my info so far.

  8. Hi,

We have decided to rent a car and drive to Whitehorse from Skagway - any recommendations on things to see and do in Whitehorse - or stops along the way?  (And top things to do in Skagway as we will be there briefly before or after our drive?

  9. I have a brain injury and need quiet places to hang out, while the kids play on the water slides, etc. Any recommendations of quiet areas (non-smoking) that are reasonably close to the pool/water slide area? AND, any areas totally silent, away from it all? Our kids are older now, so I don't have to watch them constantly, but we need to be close enough for them to be able to come tell us if they are heading off to another area.

    Thanks!

  10. Hi,

We will be in port on Jan 3rd from 8 to 5pm. We want to do a catamaran snorkel/beach day (Nevis). Leeward Island Charters has a full day trip available that day, getting back to port at 4pm. I am nervous about booking them due to only the 1 hour between arriving back at port and ship departure. Is this too tight? We've never been to St. Kitts so am not sure of the lay of the land there.

  11. Hi,

We plan on doing Stingray City, and are trying to decide whether to do the Rays, Reef and Rum Point tour or do Stingray Sailing and then spend the afternoon on 7 mile beach.

We like quiet beaches - which is quieter, Rum Point or 7 mile? and, which one on 7 mile?

    Thanks
