  1. Thank you so much for an excellent review. I love your positive attitude. Your review is comprehensive and balanced. We will be on Lady O in a couple of weeks March 1 western. Your review makes me very happy. We are in the aquatheater suite and adjacent balcony. Trying to decide if we should get the iphones. Would you rent them again? Sounds like it was difficult to find someone to get them for you the first day. Is it best for us just to go straight away and ask the concierge?

  2. SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!

My wife and I bit on this scam and it costs us $150. The company selling their vacation club tells you up front they are not affiliated with the company giving you your "free" trip. They tell you they pay the company giving you the "free" trip to get you to come and listen to their vacation club sales pitch.

This is what we found out.

    1. You can do just as well shopping around for deals than you can using the vacation club. It will cost you $3000 - $10,000 up front (depending on how well you can wear them down) and then there is a hefty annual fee (I don't remember how much...$500.00??) Thank goodness we didn't bite!

    2. The "free" cruise or airline tickets are not free. We found out the hard way that the "fees" they tell you about end up costing you more than if you booked it on your own. You will pay an initial fee...for us it was $35.00 each. When you receive your "packet" to book your trip you will have to send another $40 fee each to receive your "free" trip. When you finally get around to booking your reservation, they require you to send an additional fee that was going to end up costing us the same as if we had booked the trip on our own with a whole lot more restrictions... but we cut our losses and chalked it up as lesson learned.

    SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!!

Sounds like exactly what we were facing. Good for you to cut your loses. Glad I googled and found out before I laid out any money.

  3. Scam Travel Club. I went to their presentation and had the Attorney General of my state call to get some info from me as they were investagating this club.

That is good. I hope someone can get them shut down and arrested. It may not be technically illegal...or maybe it is, but they are ripping people off, time and money. Sad...

  4. I got one of these in the mail over the weekend, too. Figured it sounded too good to be true. It has the Royal Caribbean logo all over it, including the voucher. (unlike some of the other scams). I wonder if RCI knows about it?? I would guess they got their mailing lists from Royal???

Yes, my initial card said VERY clearly I had been selected for a free Royal Caribbean criuise. I had previously received a free caribbean cruise line cruise, a few weeks prior but had immediately declined that one. An inside room on a converted ferry holds no appeal. But the Royal card looks leget and even says the travel co offereing is an authorized seller of royal caribbean. But when I got the voucher from the scam travel club it did NOT say Royal it said my gift was a cruise. When I googled the company I found out all the things I previously mentioned. I wish Royal would remove their authorization for this travel company because they support legalized rip off schemes with their free cruise offers. I know Royal has absolutely nothing to do with them but I love this cruise line and hate their name associated with this terrible company.

  5. Got a notice in the mail that looks like it came from RCI. Says I have been selected to receive an 8 day/7 nite cruise on RCI. Just have to respond in 72 hours. Called the number and was told we would have to sit through a 90 minute 'travel club' presentation. Anybody else get this? Anybody actually done it? Or is this another "how many ways can you say no in 90 minutes" things?

SCAM! Got one too about two weeks ago. Sounded interesting so we went to the presentation. Well it is for a travel club and they want you to pay 9000 to join and then they claim you get 50% off vacations. They would not tell us their name till we got there and gave us no hard copy paperwork. They told us we had to make a decision that night. Ha! Really, we could not think about it. They kept coming up with different prices every time we said no. We did get voucher from a company with a different name. It says we have to pay fees and port charges. When I googled both companies they came up fishy. They make it really hard to cash voucher and if you can they charge so many fees you end up paying more than if you went through cruise line. I tore up voucher and thanked God I did not buy into the travel club. These things make me so sad that this world has people that make a living ripping off others.:(

  6. Believe it or not we are enjoying a wonderful day on ship while others are on st thomas. I guess I'm a loser for wanting to offer help to others who are anxiously awaiting their time on Oasis. Our favorite by far is Central Park which is right around the corner from our room. We love our bartender at the trellis bar. We also enjoyed today the zip line, mini golf, sorrentos pizza, breakfast on our balcony. It is just amazing!

Thanks so much for taking the time to post. We are going on Oasis on March 1 and I personally can not get enough information and love these live posts. Helps to pass the time. Sounds like you are having a great time. Enjoy!

  7. Hi.

We are going to labadee for the first time in April.

We have our 11 year old son with us. Do you think its worth getting a cabana for the 3 of us? He obviously won't want to laze around all day in a cabana though it would be nice for a little while.

These of you that have had one do you think its worth it in our situation. Thanks. :)

I have not had a cabana yet but have one reserved for march. We feel that having the ability to get out of the direct sun, in comfortable accomodations, with a cooler and water and personalized service is worth it. For us it is not about lazing around all day, but having a private area to get out of the sun and be comfortable.

  8. Typically the conciege contacts suites guests 2 weeks prior. If you contact him/ her before he or she may be able to reserve cabanas earlier. I found this out by going to the private island forum on this board. There is a weath of information that has allowed me to better plan for my cruises. Unfortunately vacations are like life, things are not always clear or straight forward. By using information on this board I was able to secure one of two beach front cabanas on barefoot beach. I hope you can secure a cabana. Good luck.

  9. Wow, this is good information. We are sailing in March on Oasis and my son is getting engaged. I have a big event planned as a royal romance package that includes flowers and also have special flowers ordered. I have not heard a word the flowers were cancelled. I will call them today. I did it all over the phone so did not look at website. Thanks for the heads up.

  10. My requests were primarily related to my "moms" who have diability issues and some specific needs. I did not want to risk getting on the ship and having issues with two 80 something year olds that are in wheel chairs. I also need a cabana for them on Labadee that would be acessible to two elderly women that can't walk for more than 10 feet, and again could not risk waiting until I got on the ship and be locked out of one and then my moms could not enjoy the island. I am totally aware of the enormous workload of these individuals and I am not a demanding person. I don't expect anything special or ask for special treatment but as a friend of mine says in one of his songs "there is one thing that my daddy taught me if there is something you need you ask". So, if there is something important to me, I want to be sure I ask for it in advance so as not be disappointed. If he could help me I would have understood, but he could help me and was most accomodating and I will write a message to customer service commending him. Again, Kudos to him.

  11. The concierge I spoke to is Israel Sanchez. I can not say enough good things. I emailed him at OA_concierge02@rccl.com. We are sailing March 1 and he responded so quickly and helped me with everything, including securing a beachfront cabana on Barefoot beach in a very appropriate location for my handicaped moms (83 and 84 years old). His suggestions were spot on, and when I looked at the barefoot map so glad he suggested the beachfront cabana rather than over the water that I wanted. He answered all my extensive questions with patience and concern and there were many. Oasis concierges rock!!!

  12. Thanks so much for this information and your great pictures on facebook. Very helpful. We have a beachfront (one of the two) cabana on Barefoot Beach reserved for our March Oasis cruise and I was curious to see where they were located. I wanted an over the water one, but the helpful concierge recommended a beachfront, since my mother has mobility issues. Thanks again. Laura

  13. After reading some negative threads about Oasis concierges, I must admit I was worried. We are going on a very important family cruise on March 1 and are staying in an aquatheater suite and I have a number of requests, some quite complicated. So I sent an e-mail 2 days ago to both of them, not expecting to hear from them. Well today I got a call and he could not have been nicer. He granted and took care of ALL my requests and was as sweet as could be. Kudos! I just wanted to let anyone concerned know that the Oasis concierges are so very nice and if I am any indication can work out almost any request, because they did for me. I was polite and respectful and they were polite and respectful back. Life is good! :D

  14. We will be staying in it March 1 cruise. I will post lots of pictures and a review. Got a great deal. Love the two bedrooms and 2 baths. We also have the balcony room next door. Nice family set up IMO. Yes I have noticed a distinct lack of information about it. I will hopefully change that.
