  1. Many possible reasons...

Disney already has well-established infrastructure to seamlessly get guests between Disney World/MCO/Port Canaveral. Their fleet is too small to support a second Central Florida homeport. The majority of cruises out of Tampa seem to only visit the Western Caribbean, there's no point in DCL transferring a ship from elsewhere, when they can offer not only Western, but also Eastern Caribbean and Bahamian cruises from PC.

  2. Here is my experience with RCI today. Somehow I missed the emails for final payment and noticed the cancellation email. Called corporate and spoke with Jell, who by policy will not provide her last name:mad:. I explain how the email was sent on a Saturday and that I get hundreds of emails a day that it is easy to miss an email. Was ridicule for being an adult and should be responsible for reading the emails.

The Bottom line, according to Jill and "policy" they can not re-instate your reservation. I am left with rebooking at the prevailing rate if I want to keep my deposit.

Have booked many cruises before and they just take the final payment off the original CC.

    Lesson learned.

    1. Cross RCI off my list due to bad cruise relations

    2. Never go direct. Let the TA take care of it

    3. Never sail with RCI again. go with NCL:mad::mad:

In what world would the customer service rep give you her last name? By the angry emoticon after that statement, you seem like the sort of person that would go out of your way to slander her with her full name. You have no one to be angry at but yourself, if you take on the responsibility of booking a cruise then be an adult and keep track of when your payment is due by.

  3. First cruise coming up in late September and my question is sail away if we go to the concierge lounge will we have a good view of the sail away party or do we have to go to that deck and if so I imagine it’s going to be crowded any suggestions on alternative locations to view the sale away party ..?

The Concierge Lounge on both the Wonder and Magic overlook the Quiet Cove (adult pool) area. The sail away party takes place at the family pool, so you won't have any view of it from the Lounge.

  4. Yes, the Magic is most definitely in Europe at the moment. I was on her repositioning cruise from Miami to Barcelona in May...

I think this is the "how to read your Navigator" guide rather than the initial Navigator itself.

If you scroll down to the day-by-day breakdown and click the link on each (eg "Personal Navigator - Day 1"), it does indeed have the actual Navigators on there.

  5. Is that 50 MB per person in the state room or per state room .

We will be in concierge class do you know if it has complementary Internet .

No complimentary internet in Concierge, you can sign up for the same 50MB for free on day 1 like everyone else. My travel companion and I have always been able to get the 50MB each on our own separate devices.

  6. Has Disney announced if they are going to makes this a permanent change for the whole 2018 cruises.

Disney seems to be re-assessing the situation every few months. I believe it was only in the last couple of weeks that they announced St Maarten rather than Tortola for July and August 2018.

  7. You can go to Guest Services literally as often as you wish to view your charges. It wasn't available on the Magic the last time we cruised' date=' but they also didn't have the "on demand" TV feature that the Fantasy has. They said it was being added....but wasn't done yet.[/quote']

The Magic now has on demand, and includes the ability to look up your account on the stateroom tv. Worked flawlessly for me on the EBTA last month :)

  8. Anyone taken the five-night October Bermuda cruise out of NYC? I would love to avoid flying to Florida, but I wonder if it is uncomfortably cold on this cruise, especially the sea days getting to and from Bermuda. Any thoughts? Thanks!

This year is the first that Bermuda sailings have been offered on DCL, so no one will know for several months yet.

  9. There is a pirate night on cruises of at least 3 nights.

Alaska is one example of a destination that will not have a Pirate Night on any itinerary due to local regulations regarding fireworks. Freezing the Night Away is offered in lieu of it. I'm unsure but presume some of the Northern European cruises would be the same.

  10. Hmmm....has this changed? It used to be that there were white Donald keys for first timers and blue/gray Goofy keys for repeat cruisers' date=' as well as the gold keys for concierge level.[/quote']

The design of the KTTW has changed since at least 2013. It briefly changed to a picture of Captain Mickey on a light blue background with a stripe across the top (my very first KTTW - Dec 2013 - uses this design), and then it slightly changed again in mid-to-late 2014 where the top stripe was replaced with a stripe down the left-hand side (my Nov 2014 and all subsequent KTTWs use this design).

Indeed I just did a Google Image search, and I can find the Donald KTTW with dates up to 2012, but nothing since. I do have to say, I think that Donald graphic is hideous :D

    • There are red things near Anaheim, Orlando, and Paris.

They're supposed to be castles, to match up with the wall behind Guest Services and the lampshades in the guest rooms, but they really do look like red blobs on the carpet don't they!

  11. I don't see anything new here...basically a rehash of already released info.

    ??

The story isn't necessarily about what is written, the important part is the image. All we had previously was an image of the current four with another two placed next to them, which were pretty much just copy and paste jobs of the current Dream class. This is the first time they've released a mock-up of the actual intended look of the new ships, with noticeable differences to the other ships.

  12. Wasn't sure what you meant at first, because Carnival has the "Whale Tail" smokestack and I was worried I missed something! I think you're referring to the ballast extension off the stern? I think that is called a duck tail on ships.

    Yep, it's called a ducktail.

  13. That's weird about Jurassic Park and Costa Rica; I know they were filming on Kaua`i [Hawai`i] when Hurricane Iniki hit in 1992. I wonder how many other 'location' shots they had?

The question isn't insinuating that parts of the film were shot on/near Costa Rica - it's that in the movie (as in the book) Costa Rica is near the fictional location of Isla Nublar :)

  14. Yikes! Tons of bad information here. Imessage uses Wi-Fi. If you purchase a Wi-Fi plan on the ship the iPhone can message other iPhones anywhere using the ships wifi. But when you get on the ship put phones in airplane mode to turn off cell data no matter what or you will be paying for roaming.

The general gist of your post is correct, however iMessage used data, which can be either cellular data or Wi-Fi. Clarifying as the bolded sentence could lead people to believe that iMessage will only work on Wi-Fi. And it can message any other iPhone providing the other iPhones have iMessage enabled, as there is a settings toggle that allows it to be turned off. If the recipient iPhone does not have iMessage turned on, they will not receive the message.
