  1. On our recent Noordam cruise we had requested tea in our room to entertain some new friends. When it did not arrive at the promised time I asked Anne, the concierge, if she could look into it. A few minutes later she knocked on the door, apologized for the snafu, and told us that she would do what she could. She then rounded up plates of hor d'oeuvres and delivered them. A few minutes later a room service cart arrived with 4 plates of sandwiches, tea, and coffee. Anne then (against our protests) gifted us with a bottle of wine as an apology. She truly went above and beyond, and we appreciated that and everything the concierge staff did during that cruise to make our trip much more enjoyable.

  2. We recently did a cruise/tour to Alaska on HAL Noordam, our first cruise. We looked at all the lines and chose based on the itinerary, ship size, and onboard offerings. We don't do belly flops (well, not on purpose :o), rock wall climbing, zip lines, or water slides, so HAL's ships are more in our comfort level. Plus we like the more traditional styling.

  3. Yes, ma'am. And I can highly recommend the banana French bread (or was that French banana bread?), and also the full English breakfast and the Belgian waffles. Although I probably shouldn't recommend having the last two at once. Reckon that had anything to do with my clothes shrinking in the closet?? Nah.....

  4. On the Noordam last month there were 3 shows each evening, at 8:45, 9:45, and 10:45, except, I believe, for the last night, when they were 1/2 hour earlier. And one night they held a show in the main lounge, although we did not attend that one. We thought they were quite good.

    Hope this helps.
