  1. Today's Daily Activities. In Nassau this morning departing for Jamaica at 2 pm.
  2. Thanks for the daily reports. Penicillin used to be a special cocktail on HA but no more since they no longer stock Laphroaig Scotch. Thanks for the beautiful pictures of Lisbon. @JazzyVthank you for the cares and celebrations reports. Prayers for everyone needing them and the people of Ukraine. A cool morning in Nassau. Last time I was here was 31 years ago for my 40th birthday celebration on some Norwegian ship. I still wear my watch that I bought to celebrate that milestone. We may take the ferry to Paradise Island and we definitely need hairspray. Have a wonderful day! Nancy
  3. Good morning from Nassau. Thanks for the webcam photo Roy. I was out there until minutes before the shot.
  4. Yes very disappointed by that change. Two travel alert ports in a row on this itinerary.
  5. @jlawrence01 we are doing this in lieu of renting in Florida. It would be the same if we were in a rental but we would be shopping, cooking and cleaning up after ourselves. Onboard if we found a dinner menu we didn't want we would make a reservation for Nami Sushi. We are not show people. We enjoy our balcony and reading. Wind has put a damper on balcony time. I am 5 star so 50% off wine package and specialty dining and complimentary laundry. This would not have been our first choice but it was the easiest way to get away from Michigan winter. Next year is 70 days on the Konigsdam back to back to Hawaii and South Pacific. I would prefer an 80 day RT Fort Lauderdale or San Diego but it isn't available this year or next. I would sail another line to bring me home to US to avoid a long haul flight.
  6. Lido lunch today and a jackpot I hit on the firecracker slot machine last night on the minimum bet of .88. Ahead for the cruise by a bit.
  7. Resolution of my Tamarind issue. Obviously the complaints or positive comments sent through Navigator go to many departments. My Neptune concierge mentioned it and said Rodan from Tamarind was working onshore at HMC but I should hear from him soon. Then when we showed up for dinner in the MDR head Maitre d Hanse came over and apologized for sub par service in Tamarind. Once we were seated for dinner Rodan from Tamarind came to our table and apologized for poor service, we could not pull anything out of him about how one night could be so horrible. He offered our tomorrow's dinner to be complimentary. I said it was a Mariner dinner and was already so how about a bottle of wine which he agreed with. We asked the Sommelier Rodel to pick us a good one.
  8. @ski wwapologies CC acting up and I couldn't clear my editor. Last night's MDR dinner. Jerk spring roll, tuna and salmon poke, barbecue beef brisket, cat fish and sugar free mousse. All very tasty.
  9. Here is the Eurodam coming in Port Everglades this morning thanks to @ski ww. Our original itinerary was going to Key West. That port got cancelled and Bahamas added where we stop tomorrow, HMC will be our final stop.
  10. Good afternoon and thanks for the daily reports. Happy Valentine's Day. We are dining in the PG tonight and John was going to use some of his OBC for caviar. I didn't want to have the same mistake as last year so I checked out origin of the ship's caviar. It is RUSS again. I told the PG host that it was unsatisfactory due to being Russian. He said no Siberian, I guess most people don't know Siberia is Russia. No caviar tonight. We heard from a lot of people about our flop of a dinner in Tamarind. First Hanse, MDR manager apologized when we sat down for our MDR dinner, then another manager from MDR mentioned it. Finally Rodan manager of Tamarind came to our table and apologized and offered us a complimentary dinner tomorrow which I replied it was already complimentary so how about a bottle of wine which he agreed to. Our Neptune Lounge concierge CJ also mentioned it. Over 500 passengers went through the in transit process today so it took an extra half hour. @JazzyVthanks for the cares and celebrations report. Prayers for everyone needing them and the people of Ukraine. Last night I won $1100 on a slot machine so I am ahead for the cruise by a decent margin. Have a lovely day! Nancy NL flowers and a lot of cargo to be loaded.
  11. Thanks for the webcam photo. We are onboard for another ten days. Our itinerary has changed. Nassau first stop and HMC is our last, sad change after Key West was cancelled for us.
  12. Good morning from Port Everglades. It is turnaround day for us, our last sadly. Ten more days to go. I will share the Tamarind follow up after we get back on board later today.
  13. @Real NHDOC I asked for it and they obliged but just said I would be charged the sushi price. No problem it is impossible to get them in the Midwest.
  14. Good morning from Port Everglades. Turnaround day today. Our last in transit for this trip. 57 degrees. Hopefully no wind.
  15. @Quartzsite Cruiser I feel for you not being able to use your balcony, we are in the Caribbean and have only been able to use our wrap around in port. Today at HMC I could only use one side for two hours. Just curious, we booked 7190 aft for Hawaii in 2025, are you up that high?
  16. @JazzyV we had our galentine day one year when I lived in NC. All us single ladies went to Mama Dip's in Chapel Hill. It was a small soul food place and not a hot spot for Valentine's Day. I still remember her stewed tomatoes. I wonder if her cookbook survived my lifetime move to Michigan and I am too far away to check.
  17. Today's Daily Activities for very windy HMC. As has been for the last several visits due to wind snorkeling and several other shore excursions have been cancelled. I am sure from previous rides horseback will be on land only due to the waves. Pretty arrangement from Neptune Lounge.
  18. Last night's Tamarind was a disaster. We had a pre dinner cocktail in the beautiful Tamarind bar and headed to the Tamarind podium promptly at 5. When we looked into the elevator hall there was a queue of about 20 people something we had never seen before. We should have turned and run but the dinner I had prepaid. We were seated in another dining room we had never been seated in. Then the fun began. First my Pusser's lime Daiquiri was a margarita, that went back. Normally our server knows we order extra from Nami Sushi and we had to ask for that menu. We ordered our starters and my entree. John said he would order his entree after his sushi. Condiments came, not crackers or plates. Our orders, me tempura, soft shell crab from Nami sushi and shrimp Szechuan shrimp . John miso soup, tuna poke and sushi platter from Nami Sushi. My tempura and a cold soft shell crab came and John's miso soup. All done with these starters finally the crackers came, no plates. My shrimp arrived wasn't given the breaded or unbreaded option. It arrived breaded not my preference. No food for John. Finally the manager came over asked what he could do. John said cancel sushi and bring poke. By then I was done. We left as soon as he finished his small plate of poke. A long rehash sent through Navigator this morning. I think there was a large private party which over taxed the kitchen and service staff. Paying customers treated like second class. I purposely changed all my reservations to 5 pm so not to have this happen. Now for our next 10 day cruise we have two more Tamarind dinners booked with my 5 Star benefit. Not looking forward to them at all.
  19. Good morning. We are at HMC with beautiful weather and 18 mph winds. The Captain told us at the Mariner reception that a past passenger had told him he was loving the cruise but he wished there was more wind. We have had wind since we boarded January 3. We had a beautiful sunrise today and a few pictures from the PG lunch. Tamarind was a total disaster. More on that later after I send comments about it through the Navigator. Towel day was yesterday also.
  20. Good morning from HMC. A beautiful day today with 18 mph winds. No plans for us today, hopefully enjoying our balcony. Thanks for today's Daily and Fleet reports @kazu and for the accompanying maps @rafinmd. @JazzyVthank you for maintaining our cares and celebrations reports and I forgot to thank you for doing so on the one year anniversary a few days ago. Prayers for everyone needing them and the people of Ukraine. Our busy day went well yesterday until the very end. The Mariners reception was well attended and 5 300 day medallions were given out, though actually there were 8 because there were several couples who got them. Then they recognized the five President's Club members/couple ranging from 1740 days to 2400. Lots of sparkling wine, mimosas and bloody Marys. Then a nice lunch in the PG and then off the the premier wine tasting. Our Sommelier Rodel poured some nice wines that we went through very quickly. Then he turned to the food pairing with each wine. I do believe this was the best HA tasting we have done due to the matching of the food component. Things went bad at Tamarind. There must have been a private group in the other part because at 5 the place was packed. John never got his meal or his special order Nami sushi. I had finished my entree and we left. We are enjoying the MDR more and more on this cruise. Have a great day! Nancy
  21. I agree! We aren't into Usher but we enjoyed his show. I guess the NFL has completely given up on us boomers. His persona not Usher ruined his beautiful song. Cannot unsee him.
