  1. Good morning everyone. Thanks for the daily reports and maps Jacqui and Roy. Farm animals deserve good treatment. The Salvation Army does a lot of good in our country. Another great quote by Lewis. Pass on cooked cabbage, the fussy cocktail but I enjoy about all wines from King Estates. Thanks for the gorgeous photos of Petra Sandi! Thanks for the cares and celebrations reports Vanessa. Prayers for Tana and everyone on our care list who are ailing or suffering pain or grief. Prayers for all in was zones especially Ukraine and the Innocents in Gaza. We had a lovely day yesterday. Beautiful weather for shopping. The only turtle neck sweaters in TJ Maxx were in my size. Perfect. We had lunch at a Asian restaurant and dinner at the steakhouse. I had prime rib and bread. Not very healthy but all I had room for. John had Ahi tuna. Have a great hump day. Nancy
  2. We had a 95% view of the eclipse. We had a wide viewing area in the church parking lot. My talk went well though many had bailed out to go elsewhere to watch the eclipse. I agree the coverage was overblown but it was kind of a happy break from politics. We headed south and made it to the hotel by dinner time. A quiet day of shopping, something I never do but my turtle neck sweaters are past their time. A nice dinner at their steak house tonight. @aliaschief I can almost smell that meat market from hear. The Halal section in D.C. grocery stores were enough for me. Have a lovely day everyone! Nancy
  3. Good morning everyone. Thanks for the daily and the maps Jacqui and Roy. Nice to see some ships heading east for the Europe season. I will pass on the cocktail and the muffins, maybe with some bacon instead. Another winner in the wine department. Thanks for researching these each day. A good quote. I have many photos of Denali park on my laptop but we are on the road so will share later maybe. Thanks for the cares and celebrations reports Vanessa. Prayers for everyone needing them, Tana and those in war zones through no fault of their own Ukraine and the Innocents in Gaza.
  4. Good morning everyone. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet reports Jacqui and for the maps Roy. Good wishes for the cardiologist visit today and for your busy day. A good group of days. A very nice quote by C.S. Lewis. Pass on the chicken, the goofy cocktail and I would drink today's vino if I could find it. I don't even know where it is from so what section to search at Total Wine? Thanks for the photos of Darwin Sandi, I look forward to more coming. Thanks for the cares and celebrations reports Vanessa staying on top of all these events while you are suffering from all the pain that keeps you awake. Prayers for Tana and her family. Prayers for all in war zones, Ukraine and the innocents in Gaza. Prayers for whatever is going on in Haiti. We are leaving in a while to head to the Lake Michigan city South Haven where I am doing a talk on butterflies and their host plants. That begins at 2 and just as that ends the close to full eclipse (95%) will be happening at 3:05 or so. Then we head to New Buffalo for some free nights at the casino hotel that John was comped. When we come back from that fling we will really have to buckle down and get the yard ready to be abandoned, save for mowing. We plan on heading to our cabin on May 19. It will be here before we know it. Have a lovely Eclipse day everyone! Nancy
  5. Happy Anniversary to @Overhead Fred and Mitzi and to @erewhon! 🍾
  6. @StLouisCruisers Happy birthday Sandi and DS Linda! 🎂 Thanks for sharing the darling photo.
  7. @luvteaching hugs to you and I hope your funk passes very soon. @kazu Jacqui, I hope you feel better soon! @smitty34877 prayers for Tana and all in your household as you hold down the "fort" with no aide this weekend. @aliaschief thanks for the photos of the fabulous places you are visiting.
  8. Bon Voyage @Heartgrove DW Sue, @Overhead Fred and @Vict0riann! 🍾🍾🍾
  9. Good morning everyone! Thanks for the Daily and the maps @kazu and @rafinmd. Beavers are problematic where we live in the summer with their dams causing small roads to flood. They were imported to Ushuaia to build a fur trade that never came to be and with no predators they wiped out their forests. A beaver dam on our road to and from town in Upper Michigan somewhere in my post. Glad we passed on the metric system in the USA. A funny quote by the late actor Richard Lewis, I watched the last episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm and sadly no Richard. Pass on all three of today's comestibles. I wouldn't even bring or drink a box buttery chardonnay at a party, that is where I draw the line and switch to beer. @GTVCRUISER thanks for Beer Day reminder! Prayers for everyone on our care list, especially Tana. Prayers for all war zones, Ukraine and the innocents in Gaza. Today's planned schedule fell apart so I won't be able to get the final ingredients for my cioppino so the work I did yesterday is going in the freezer. I plan on reviewing my talk for the garden club tomorrow and working outdoors some more. Have a lovely Sunday! Nancy
  10. We are on the Konigsdam for next January to Hawaii and we tried a month ago to get CO and it is sold out. We book reserved early dining and get to our table at opening. Not our favorite but it is the only way to get our drink order and food order in to have them at the same time. Telling the waiters we like hot food we get hot food too. Hope you have some luck in getting CO.
  11. Good morning from frosty but sunny SW Michigan. Thank you for the Daily and @rafinmd I especially enjoyed the maps this morning with the extra detail. I will pass on the Starkist and the Twinkies but since we drive several long hauls on the interstates each year drowsy driving is something we have to vigilant about, truckers are really obvious, seems like cars it is just texting on the road. The quote is "meh". The chicken looks wonderful but I am afraid it would mess up the oven, with convection one can air fry. No to the drink and no to the wine. Thanks for the Cares and Celebrations reports @JazzyV. Prayers for Tana, Sandi's DB and the others on our care list needing prayers. Vanessa I hope you are getting some sleep. Prayers for all on our care list and those in war zones, Ukraine, the lost World Central Kitchen team and the innocents in Gaza. I am going to work outside today after it warms up a bit. It has been so cold that I am grateful that I didn't jump the gun and move all the plants from behind and beside the garages. Today will be the day that they get moved from the garden to the patio because there are other plants trying to wake underneath them. Hollytone on all the hollies, evergreens and hydrangeas and a granular fertilizer for all my garden plants because they are ignored all summer. I am going to work on cleaning the freezer today, taking all the shells from fresh shrimp that I remove and freeze and some King Crab shells that are sitting in there too. I am going to make a big pot of seafood stock and hopefully I can find some other seafood besides shrimp, cod and mussels to put into it. Scallops or the little crab legs would work. I already have the tomato base as I have a lot frozen. A busy day ahead. Have a good one, Nancy
  12. Good morning everyone! Gloomy and cool here in SW Michigan. Thanks for the Daily Reports and the maps @kazu and @rafinmd. Gold Star is an important recognition, thanks for sharing the information on Gold Star @grapau27. My two garden clubs take care of two Blue Star Gardens and the single Gold Star that is in Kalamazoo that is at our Air Zoo. A good quote by Adams, I procrastinate but I almost always meet my deadlines, now that I am retired it is much easier. I will pass on the casserole and the cocktail but the Riesling looks wonderful. We visited the Moselle many years ago and it was a beautiful area. @JazzyV thanks for the Cares and Celebrations list. @dfish Debbie I am happy to read your eye inflammation is getting better. @Cruzin Terri I am sorry you had a GI issue, I hope you are feeling better, thanks for checking in. @StLouisCruisers that was a scary event for Austin. I am a label reader and I see the caution that tree nuts or peanuts may have contaminated the area the food is processed. @rafinmd I hope your echocardiogram gives good results today. Prayers for everyone on our care list, especially Tana and Terrie. Prayers for those in war zones, the people of Ukraine and the innocents in Gaza. Sandi and Lenda thanks for sharing your lovely photos of Norway. Lenda those profuse yellow flowers in one of your photos are a real problem in the US. People plant then along their streams for their beauty but a small piece or seed can come loose and germinate and choke out our native flora. I am stuck at home today. I am supposed to get my final wine shipment but the one that we stayed home all day on Wednesday is missing. I heard from the winery that my package was not delivered but not a peep from UPS. I wonder if someone else is enjoying a case of fine red wine. Today will be house cleaning. My younger sister used to clean for me but her arthritis has gotten so bad she said she had to quit. I am trying to stay on top of it. But the sun just peeked out and our windows are sparkly. Have a lovely Friday! Nancy
  13. @dfish Debbie, that has to be so painful. healing hug! @Lady Hudson Thanks for sharing your darling great grandson. @grapau27 so happy to hear that Sarah has a boyfriend and you like him. @Quartzsite Cruiser I am happy that you are getting settled back home. I understand how difficult if can be after being gone for months. Have a lovely afternoon.
  14. Good morning everyone. Thanks for the Daily and the maps Jacqui and Roy. I'll pass on the leftovers (though your ideas were wonderful Debbie), the cocktail and would try the wine. Prayers for everyone in our group who need then, @summer slope I am glad your DF is showing some progress in rehab. Prayers for the WCK people who were killed and those in war zones Ukraine and the innocents in Gaza. Special prayers for Tana. I am on the run this morning to pick up a prescription, get my nails done and a haircut. I have a talk to do next week and don't want to look scraggly. Have a lovely Thursday! Nancy
  15. @smitty34877 Prayers for Tana, your DD and you. I was sad to read that she is at the maximum oxygen. I truly feel for her. You are doing so much to make her comfortable and allow her to be in her own space. Thanks for the Daily Reports and maps Jacqui and Roy. We may be having steak for dinner tonight so today's meals look good. I think I will pass on the drink and have my rum with Coke Zero and I will pass on the box wine unless I was bringing it to a party. I haven't been to Quepos. Thanks for the Cares and Celebrations reports Vanessa. Prayer for everyone in our group needing them and people in war zones, the lost World Central Kitchen workers and their families, Ukraine and the innocents in Gaza. @dfish Debbie I am so glad that you got your eye looked at and you have treatments for your stye. @aliaschief thanks for the photos. We have had two obscure ports with no photos so you are picking up the slack for us. @Nickelpenny Pennie, congratulations on 4 Star. I am glad your mood has turned around. @Heartgrove Sorry all your planning for MSC cruise has went for naught. I am just getting caught up. I had planned on looking at my laptop before leaving for a garden club meeting but John needed help removing TVs from their spots as he has a new one coming today. One left the living room and went to the bedroom and the bedroom one will get donated. We had planned on going out for our delayed Easter dinner tonight but the TV hasn't arrived and my case of wine hasn't arrived either. After a long meeting I got home and the window cleaners came. I had scheduled them last fall anticipating a wedding shower I was hosting that isn't happening then a long call with my DS. Now it is time for me to start some dinner prep. Happy Hump Day everyone. Nancy
  16. Maureen @RMLincoln Great news on your DHs eye treatment success. Didn't he get his treatment at the Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore. @Nickelpenny so sad to read that your knee has deteriorated. Sandi @StLouisCruisers great work on the Christmas stocking. @aliaschief I have totally enjoyed following on your world cruise on Azamara. Please continue!
  17. Good morning from rainy SW Michigan. Thanks for the Daily Reports and Maps Jacqui and Roy! I like peanut butter on a low carb English muffin though the jelly we have is set aside for the Baltimore Orioles when they show in a few weeks. @MISTER 67 Congratulations on your first big job as produce manager, what a mess on ordering though, either run out or have a bunch of stuff go bad. A good quote by Keith. I will pass on today's cocktail, lavender belongs in soap not a cocktail, I make Keto French toast with real 1/2 + 1/2 with sugar free syrup. I think I had the wine before. I look forward to some photos of today's port but if Lenda or Sandi don't have them I hope some show up. Thanks for the cares and celebrations reports Vanessa. I hope you slept better last night. @smitty34877 prayers for Tana, I worry when you said her cough and wheezing were different. @doobieb Good luck with the bad storms going through. John and I were driving home from Fort Lauderdale and spent the night in Huntsville. We heard the weather reports for our morning drive and thankfully just as the storm arrived a rest area appeared and we pulled off to wait it out. Lots of lightning. When we travel south and north we always worry about some of the late winter storms you get in your state. Prayers for everyone in war zones, the people of Ukraine and the innocents in Gaza. Since it is a lousy day we are sticking close to home. Snow in the forecast for tomorrow, then finally I hope it warms up. I got a happy gift from Direct TV (don't get those often) with a free week of the MLB out of market feeds. I got to see Opening Day for the Orioles, part of Saturday's game. I have two more free games tonight versus the Royals and tomorrow afternoon with the same team. Hopefully they can get some nationally covered games more than in the past. Have a lovely day!. Nancy
  18. As of Valentine's Day 2024 HA still stocked Russian caviar. This time I asked to see the jar before ordering. This was the Eurodam. I have seen others posting caviar and the lid definitely didn't say RUSS. Needless to say I passed.
  19. @ger_77 What a wonderful friend you are to Ollie. I am so glad that the Social Worker got hold of you to assist her and be there for her moral support in her grief and the hard decision she had to make. I would guess from your communication about her situation she has no family nearby. You did what good friends do, try to enjoy your time with Ollie this evening. @kazu I am so happy to read that you found someone to stay with Ivan during your cruise. @Quartzsite Cruiser Happy to read you are on the road today. @StLouisCruisers and @bennybear thanks for sharing the photos of Tokyo. I have got a lot accomplished today and am waiting for a call from my insurance broker's office. Frankenmuth Insurance raised my homeowners by almost $500 for the year. I haven't had a claim other than a new roof after a hail storm and that was replaced 2 years ago. Everyone in town got a new roof. I am going to ask her to check with other companies that they work with. I don't pay it my DD DH's trust pays for it but I think it is too big of a jump. Many thanks to everyone for your kind words about April 1. Trying to stay busy today and it is working to keep my mind off things. No rain yet so sunshine always helps too.
