  1. Guess what? I emailed corporate and they got back to me with a lovely response. Our lovely crew member will be getting a nice gift from our family in Canada. I cannot say enough good things about this ship. When we disembarked the crew stood on deck and shook our hands and thanked us personally for sailing with them. Every meal was a delight especially this key lime white chocolate popsicle desert in the main dining room. I felt that the crew really enjoyed their jobs. When we left the ship, we were stopped and told to return to lost and found. THe cabin steward found a bag of my jewellery that had slipped behind the end table. In twenty cruises I have never found such a high level of service. 😍
  2. Just ended our cruise Sunday, did not find the ship too crowded, best cruise ever, we tried Tamarind, Canaletto, Pinnacle and Sal De Mer. The food was very good . The schnitzle in the dining room was one of the best I have tried. I hated to leave!
  3. Hi we just got off Nieuw Statendam after a fabulous cruise. The food was particularly stellar and we would like to recognize Rika in Canaletto who was so kind to our family while on-board. This was the best cruise ever, the crew made it so special and the ship,is beautiful.also BB Kings was amazing with Miss Denise. Specialty dinning makes this ship, shine as well as the dining room.
  4. Well I already booked Eclipse because of beverage package and I really like Celebrity so I guess it really doesn’t matter, looking forward to Alaska and first time on West coast. Going through Rockies on the way back by train which my husband is really excited about. Haven’t been on Celebrity for a few years so we’ ll see.
  5. Hi i haven’t been on this ship for a few years but I really enjoyed the hydro pool and I believe it was adults only, very relaxing
  6. Thank you very much. This is the first time in a while that I am able to take my son on a cruise, has been quite ill so it will be special no matter which cabin but I had to take what was left in a triple cabin , cruise is December 1. I know I gave up the larger balcony but they told me this is all that is left. I have sailed at the very front on the Millenium and quite enjoyed it. It’s always an adventure when my son travels with us. 😎
  7. Hi has anyone stayed in this cabin. We had another cabin booked but had to change to a triple room as my son decided to come with us. Thanks
  8. Hi I was reading on Royal board that they have a contract to go here in 2020 and seeing that Celebrity is part of the brand I thought that maybe they would be going there also. I am on the Eclipse in May and would like to see Glacier Bay. Any thoughts?
  9. Nobody mentioned port times. I have been on two HAL cruises and five X cruises. Actually have booked Niew Statendam for December because it looks fabulous but I have noticed that HAL has shorter times in port. I don’t really mind because I am ready to embark early but that might matter to some. I agree that buffet on X is better, I love it. HAL has lovely room service dining and I love BB King’s. I also have X booked for the spring because of the beverage perk which I really enjoy, love the speciality coffees ang smoothies. I wish HAL had more going on .
  10. Thanks very much for all the info. We were thinking about a car rental to go around Vancouver island if she is not available. Her mom is quite frail and she comes here quite often to care for her. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
  11. Oh that’s great! I have a good friend in Nanaimo we might visit if she is not travelling, last time we met for dinner here she was talking about Tofino and how gorgeous it was. She left here after high school and became a professor at the university there. Newly retired so maybe we can have a nice visit. I have been on the east coast many times even to Newfoundland which was spectacular but never to the west so it’s time to head on over there.
  12. Thanks very much! I will book the Y. We are taking the Canadian train back after our cruise on Eclipse because my husband is a huge train fanatic.
  13. Hi I am coming here in the first week of May, went to the YWCA site to book and they said the hotel is under construction. I was just wondering how long this would take and whether to book.
