  1. Prices vary as others have stated. Got it for $63 on Grandeur 9 nighter from Miami next month.
  2. CocoCay has permanent food storage and preperation areas. Food is not just brought off the ship like at Labadee. Why the quality and variety of food at CocoCay is better.
  3. Can never have too many electronic gadgets!
  4. Varies by make and model. Go into settings and turn off data and select your home wifi signal if you have not already set it up. You will probably get some messages stating you can't make calls or 911 location service will not work. Really older phones will not have the latest operating system and may not be able to get the Royal app. Not sure how old of operating systems the Royal app supports. Yes, you can still download supported apps. Need to clarify a previous post of mine. Amazon tablets do not have access to the Royal app. The exception is if you hack it to add the Google Play store. There are many YouTube videos that will walk you through that process.
  5. Not sure what part of FL you are in, but I see a 2 night cruise at a good price. $70 on Freedom December 5th from Miami.
  6. They waived the testing onboard on a b2b when we were on for a 8 and 6 night b2b on Allure back in May. A last minute change while onboard. Just was wondering about boarding now when your b2b is over 9 nights.
  7. Going on Grandeur next month. Booked for 9 nights and recently added a b2b of an additional 5 nights. The healthy sail webpage states cruises 9 nights and under that a test is not needed for those of us that are fully vaccinated. Our b2b will be a total of 14 nights. Do we need to show a test result?
  8. The downside to Google Flights it does not include Southwest. I was looking for my son to come into Tampa to visit us in a few weeks. I was about to book him into Orlando and was going to do the horrible I-4 drive to pick him up. My wife reminded me about the Southwest exclusion and luckily checked their site and got him direct into Tampa for around the same price, but without baggage fees that Southwest does not charge for. Google Flights is a great resource, but take the time to also go to Southwest's website.
  9. Only benefits the people who book last minute and they now have a chance to get what they want during the last minute frenzy once close enough to ship wi-fi. Those of us who usually book further out and reserved shows 45 days prior to sailing no longer get the pleasant experience of the past.
  10. Going next month on Lady G for 14 nights without a balcony for fresh air, so the couple of reports I recently have seen got me nervous. Thanks for sharing!
  11. Cool in cabin is my main thing. Thanks for sharing your experience.
  12. Wife left her cell phone by a pool lounger after we were watching a NFL game on pool screen. Discovered it missing the next morning and it was turned into guest services thankfully. Hate the need to use an app to do things currently. Next time we will use a cheap Amazon tablet or a retired phone and use that. Locking our phones in the safe like we used to.
  13. Seen a couple of reports that ship is very warm last cruise and on the current sailing on a social media site. Anyone here on the last or current cruise?
  14. They checked in Tampa. We had 4 wine bottles and had to prove we were on a b2b by pulling up the app in front of them to show that we were booked on the next sailing. Not so much a size thing, but we were under the radar. Silly as we both had the drink package, but port workers don't seem to know.
  15. For those folks that don't cruise much, I get justifying extra costs at places like CocoCay is not under the radar. We cruise often and look at everything in perspective based on our recent past cruises and costs for these things. Your optics are different. Inflation is a factor, but not at the multiples that Royal is charging many at the beach club at CocoCay.
  16. I like you posting. You are good! I agree with their thoughts about the beach club and glad you linked their review here. Just giving a perspective that they are really biased towards Carnival. Look at their Royal vlogs in the past and decide like I have. Easy to see if you follow them on a regular basis. Sorry I responded within a quote box.
  17. Watching more details on YouTube and the vloggers said they paid almost $400 total to go there. They stated at the end that it is not worth that price at all. Seems like around $100 for two total would be more appropriate. Drinks included for those without a drink package, $200 total for two. I get folks are on vacation, but being taken of advantage of is sad to me...
  18. $45 pp would be no question. Glad I helped you out and you locked in at $79. We all have our different value equations. Hope to see you folks onboard Serenade on this sailing!
  19. Used to lower add-ons from Tampa. Got $40 drink package pp per day back in December on Serenade. Still not sure about the $79 price pp at the beach club. I believe the beach club price was the same back then, but did not bite. The included food seemed decent enough at CocoCay.
  20. Wow... price was what I From a vlog I just watched, I tend to agree. If drinks were included, $79 would be reasonable.
  21. Excursions just being added to our Serenade cruise in 2023. 12 night repositioning from Tampa and seems like it would be a nice break. Is it worth $79? Seems on the high side to me. I know you can cancel, but have other's locked in at a lower price?
  22. We did Park By The Ports further back in May as it was a 14 day b2b sailing on Allure. It was hectic as they boarded people to the shuttle who got there after us under the tent you wait under to board the shuttles. Wife politely intervened and driver let us board. Other's in line after us were very understanding once the issue was brought up. Getting off ship, there was a mass of people waiting for a shuttle back to the lot. Got lucky and they had room for 2 of us. Other parties were larger. Pack your patience sailing from Port Everglades. This port does not check verify check in times also. We moved up to a 10:30 check in time last month when it suddenly became available and their contracted port staff did not know 10:30 was an assigned time. Signage just listed 11am combined all the way to 12:30 pm.
  23. Same cluster leaving Allure. This was an issue also last month. One or two cashiers and cars from different directions cutting into the main queue of cars. We paid at a machine before we got in the car to exit, but others apparently paid at the gates going out. Should of least have a Sunpass lane like Tampa airport has. Made me think back on how good Tampa and Port Canaveral handles parking.
