  1. It has changed since then. Grandeur had lobster on 5 night sailings before her leaving Galveston this month. The last month or so they stopped. We had lobster on Grandeur earlier this month on our 9 night cruise, but our b2b for 5 nights had none. 6 nights or more now.
  2. The constant conversations regarding the survey annoy me. Always pushing to get people to give 10 on the survey. The wait staff and even a loud announcement every cruise from the higher ups begging for 10's really cheapens the experience. I blame it on corporate and not the hard working people in the MDR. They just are putting them in this position.
  3. Went to Labadee twice in one week on Grandeur last week. Love the beauty of the area. Much more tropical and love the mountains. Food served is not as good as it is all brought off the ship unlike CocoCay. Variety is very poor. We stayed on ship on our last leg and had some really good food in the WJ with no crowds and had ship pool to ourselves for a few hours. Too much hustling for tips at Labadee also. Guys directing you to chairs and wiping off non existing dirt. Never had that in CocoCay. Food spoils you at CocoCay and it is hard to believe the same cruise line operates both areas.
  4. Think I will just book guarantee whenever possible. The overbooking perks can't be beat!
  5. Just remembered I had future cruise credit from Nov 2020 Connie sailing that got cancelled. Dug through some emails and found the certificate details. Applied over the phone with no issues. Loving the price of this cruise even more!
  6. Good to know. Have used Park4Cruise in past and it worked for us. Recent reviews are not so good. Think they have lost one of their lots due to new development near the port. I will check out park connect.
  7. Great information here. Just booked a 11 night on Connie yesterday for March. Have not been on Celebrity since 2002 on Zenith out of Tampa. Looking forward to Elite status perks since we are Diamond on Royal. Tired of driving to Ft Lauderdale and Miami from Tampa area for our recent cruises on Royal also. Perks such as $400 OBC made it cheaper than a 10 night Vision of the Seas cruise in March that I will cancel. Got one of the larger outsides on deck 8 in forward part of the ship. No brainer to me to cancel Vision.
  8. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. I spent hours searching for photos and was lucky enough to finally find yours.
  9. Just booked E706. Looking at this site and it seems this cabin has a great view. Is the picture correct? https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/ov.php?ship=Caribbean-Princess&cabins=E701-E718
  10. I put it on hold as it was a cluster from the beginning and not comfortable making deposit or final payment with Princess direct. Probably will transfer it to a TA who I have confidence with. Thank you for the suggestions.
  11. Called back. Got same guy again. Called a third time and talked to a nice gentleman. He ended up transferring me to someone else that quoted the same higher price. No supervisor on shift again. They keep saying issue with website quoting prices for CA residents when booking online. Created online profile and was finally able to book at the website price. Not a good start to Princess. Almost 30 cruises in the past and no issues with getting online price when calling.
  12. First booking ever with Princess. Called and price is $100 more pp on call to Princess. Later in call the Princess representative said that there is a 'glitch' with the website. Said those from Tampa area are being charged higher prices on a few previous calls he had. He can't honor Princess website price. Asked to speak to a supervisor and said none available. What the heck?
  13. Appreciate all the feedback here. Just made a reservation in the online planner for the second leg on our 14 night Grandeur b2b. Seems like enough cooked options now. Will be a nice break from the MDR menus.
  14. Should have tried years ago, just could only think it was sushi or nothing. Sure I am not the only one…
  15. According to online details they do… Good to know!
  16. Going on too many cruises lately. The MDR menus are memorized in my brain. Never paid extra for a specialty restaurant, just when it is part of a travel agent perk. Anyway, thinking about booking Izumi on Grandeur this month. No hibachi option on this ship. See a sample menu and the Ryu Futpmaki roll looks like it is cooked. Bowls look good to me also. Worth going even for those like me who are not into sushi?
  17. The late departure from Miami was already baked in, but the late boarding times is a new and unexpected spin. I just would of thought a $10 or $15 onboard credit pp for missing lunch would of been a nice gesture.
  18. This sailing had a late departure from Miami at 8pm to begin with. Had 11am boarding and now rebooked to 3:30 pm. Strange to me as to what is going on.... No offer of a credit for the late boarding also. Grandeur is sailing to Miami from Galveston with deadhead crew also.
  19. Our 11/4 Grandeur sailing just dropped to $58 and 11/13 b2b went to $62.
  20. Did it once because we had a free specialty dinner as a perk from our TA. DW loved it. Not so much for me. Went very hungry and the show aspect of it delayed getting the food. Felt too 'Disney like' to me. Too much flair and no substance.
  21. We will be careful next time. Had no idea purchases were reported. DW bought a $10 Cruise Club watch on a previous sailing...😏
  22. Towel thing is bad. Returned ours on Harmony and still got charged. They reversed the charge after we saw the charge to give Royal credit. Celebrity doesn't do this, but Royal seems to think those of us who sail them over Celebrity are more prone to steal towels.
  23. Miss the Empress. Sailed her 3 times after she came back from Pullmantur. Lovely Boleros lounge with outdoor seats and great espressos in the morning. Loved the Cuban styled decor also. The large Schooner bar taking up both sides of the ship was a plus. Crew did not like it as much. 4 of them to a small crew cabin.
  24. I like Carnival's policy. They will just need more security after the chair hogs might get irate after doing something they should not of done though. Wish Royal was this proactive.
  25. Just look outside Royal Up before you do it. Fall sailing prices seem to be dropping quickly after final payment. Royal Up minimum bids are stuck at high levels. Can go from balcony to jr suite right now for under $300 total on our Grandeur sailing next month direct with Royal. Royal Up wants a minimum bid of $500. Plus you get to pick your cabin outside of Royal Up. Just be smart and don't always default to Royal Up to upgrade. I think it is because Royal Up is a third party vendor and just can't adjust their prices lower as rates drop. A disconnect between current Royal pricing and Royal Up's rates that do not reflect price drops on Royal's side.
