Most of the longer and special cruises have the final payment at 4 months out. Some have penalty dates before final payment. VoV is included in the 'Special' category.

The only HAL ship that is in Vancouver on 9/16 is Koningsdam. Koningsdam will be at sea on 9/15 and in Ketchikan, AK on 9/14.

Majestic Princess will also be in Vancouver on 9/16. The previous port for Majestic Princess is also Ketchikan

A couple of notes here.

A debit card can be used for online check in. The hold is not placed on your account until the first day of the cruise.

If you wish, you can select the cash option and provide the debit card to the front desk when you arrive.

If you use your credit card for online check in, the hold will be placed for the entire cruise. If you change to another card (credit or debit) a hold will be placed on that card for however many days remain on your cruise.

If you buy on board credit ahead of time it will not change the amount of the hold.

@marshhawk I had two experiences flying from Atlanta to Rome, a couple of years apart. The first time when I got to immigration there was a long line that took 30 - 40 minutes to work my way thru.

The second time there was no line and I basically showed my passport to an official and didn't really stop at all.

Rome Cabs was waiting for me both times, first to take me to a hotel in Rome, the second to a hotel at the port.

Zaandam's original itinerary shows stopping at Corner Brook, but Marine Traffic listed Havre-Saint-Pierre this morning and still does. However, the MT map shows that the ship is in Corner Brook. Seems someone on the bridge entered the wrong location information.

The two destinations are fairly distant from each other by water and more so by land.

As the benefit reads it applies only to bookings made after you have been approved. However, when they first announced the benefit they did allow it to be added to existing bookings. I don't know if that is still the case.
