Good points. I have not sailed with Azamara yet. We are looking forward to doing so. I have $500 in OBC that I could use for excursions now but I purchased all my excursions before I got the extra OBC on their Black Friday sale. I could cancel the excursions I purchased and then repurchase them with OBC to use up the OBC which may be what I do but would hate to cancel them and then see that they are sold out. If I hold onto the OBC I will probably use it for the Ultimate Beverage Package on board. I am sure others have pondered the same.

Plenty to spend it on onboard-beverage packages, laundry, specialty restaurants.

Anyone know how much a bag of laundry is on board?

    thank you!

It’s priced by the piece. Sometimes they have specials-$40 for a bag. Depends on what you squeeze in it whether it’s worth getting the special. Sometimes they offer 3/5/8 bag specials, and those are a better value as far as I’m concerned.

We are planning on buying the Essentials Package for our 16 nights cruise as it seems to be a very good deal. What I could not find out on this thread is, whether it is possible or not to upgrade the included premium to the ultimate beverage package for one or two persons by just paying the difference (i.e. 7$ per person/day)? Can anyone share his or her experience?

We had the Essentials package included on one of our cruises this year. We were an Le to upgrade to the Ultimate drink package at the bar by paying the difference less our loyalty discount.

Just booked a cruise(Nov. 2023 South America/Amazon River) and I noted that they indicate alcoholic beverages are "included". Is this just at meals or anytime? Not that we drink much but is there a specific number of drinks/day? We took an Azamara cruise about 9 years ago and as I recall alcoholic drinks (wine & beer) were only at lunch and dinner?

    Thanks!

Anytime-there are specific brands included and there are upgraded drink/wine packages you can purchase.

How was the experience when you did do it ?

Liked it well enough that we would do it again. I was disappointed because they didn’t serve the shrimp that was supposed to be part of the meal (I’m allergic to some seafood but they didn’t even check with me-I no longer put my allergies on the forms) and the champagne was not what it was supposed to be.  We liked the service and the meal we had, and enjoyed having the pool to ourselves. I think we ended up going to our cabin during the night because of rain.

  6. Even though I don’t particularly want to go to Greece in July, I went ahead and switched my 7 day Greece Intensive that was booked for next October to the 7/15/23 11 night cruise. The July cruise visits almost all those small islands that you visited, so we’re really looking forward to it!

This popped up when I was doing a google search for something else. I do not see it listed on the current Azamara offerings but it  still can be  found with search function on the website . It appears that is was originally included as a benefit with the Club spa Suite. Was this a casualty of Covid or discontinued even before that? Anyone experience it?

    TIA

We used spa credit for it on Quest sometime between 2016 and 2019. I asked about it when we were on Pursuit in 2019, and was told then it was only available on Quest and Journey. I haven’t asked since, but it also wasn’t advertised the 4 times we were on Quest this year.

  8. I started the roll calls for two cruises we were on in August and September. We were also on the cruise prior to those. While on the first cruise, I asked the Hotel Director when the Meet & Mingle would be for the following cruise. He said he’d have someone get back to me. A few days later, I had a note from the Assistant CD saying it would be at 4 p.m. on Embarkation Day so I posted to the roll call (with a reminder to check “The Insider” as soon as they boarded in case of changes). It turned out to be at 6 p.m. I was working with the Concierge on something for the following cruise, and she said it was scheduled at 6 p.m.- Insider had that one listed  at 4 p.m.  There weren’t any servers with drinks so that time took everyone by surprise! Someone found the Hotel Director and that was quickly remedied. I’m going to start taking blank name tags with me since they aren’t provided anymore!

  9. From the sound of the letters I received, it sounds like we will board in Fusina, and return to Chioggia (October 7 Croatia Intensive round trip Venice). It’s the first of a B2B and the next cruise sounds like it’s departing Fusina. I’m disappointed that we aren’t going to Bologna-my husband really wants to visit the Ferrari Museum!

  10. After seeing the special pricing offers for Atlas, I started reading reviews on this board. Most of them seem to be from last year. Does anyone have any recent experience cruising with Atlas, and have there been improvements since last year? We’re looking at Mediterranean cruises.

  11. We’ve sent out laundry at least a dozen times-the only problem we’ve had is they keep refusing to wash a “shirt” without my permission because it has a tear in it. It’s a tear on my pajama top which has been there for years. Always comes back pressed and on a hanger! I do always specify “cold water wash” for everything I send to the laundry.

  12. I’m enjoying reading about your ports and seeing your pictures. Enjoyed the Greece ones so much that I went through all the Greece itineraries trying to find a similar one, but the only one I could find that was close was in mid-July and I don’t think I want to visit Greece then!

  13. We cruise with Azamara because of the officers and crew! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. We’ve been on other cruises where the Captain never engaged with the passengers, and Azamara Captains are always around and approachable. It also seems like passengers are a lot friendlier.

  14. They also offer specials to send laundry out to be done. You can squeeze quite a lot in the little laundry bags. We did 3 back to backs this summer and I only did laundry twice (embarkation day because we’d already been in Europe for a week and on a port day when we were back early). They offered bags for $40 a couple times, and on our last cruise they had an offer for varying amounts of bags-I think we paid $100 for 5 bags. We did have a lot of OBC.

Above, it was mentioned that you can upgrade from the Premium to the Ultimate drink package if you buy an Experience More package. I always understood you can upgrade your drink package ONLY if it was part of the booking, and not if the Experience More package was purchased on-board. I would prefer Enjoyment package versus the Indulgence level but I would like the Indulgence Ultimate beverage package and would pay the $7 upgrade per day for 2 versus the extra $500. Can anyone clarify?

    Best Regards, John

We had the Enjoyment package included on our Quest cruise in August. We were able to upgrade the drink package to the ultimate package at the bar for $7 per person per day less our loyalty discount (which they had forgotten to apply even though they marked it on the upgrade form, but Guest Relations quickly resolved that when I brought it to their attention).

  16. We normally purchase the package that includes the 2 specialty restaurants and the Chef’s Table. They normally offer a French Chef’s Table, Italian Chef’s Table, and another a couple times during the cruise. It’s limited to about 14 people, and the wines paired with the food is more upscale than the normal wines served.

When you say next October, are you referring to 2023? We have booked the October 7th 2023 on the Pursuit.  We were hoping that by next year the smaller ships would be allowed but no guarantees 🙂

If you are on our sailing I'd love to hear your thoughts. We will have boarded in Barcelona Sept. 25th and stay for the b2b.

Yes, we’re on the 10/7/23 cruise as well as the Greek Intensive following that.

Maybe we should all remember to write “Please get some better wines for the Ultimate package” in the Your Cruise So Far and the End of Cruise survey.

I’ve commented on that each cruise, as well as discussing it with officers on board!

We are boarding the Quest on 9/17 in Barcelona and getting very excited.   Would like to know if the Patio is open at night for dinner?

We got off yesterday after 3 back to backs on the Quest-patio seemed to be open most nights.

Have they increased the price of the dining packages? I seem to remember that the three night package was $702129267448_Screenshot2022-08-28at17_20_17.thumb.png.6c5a683ddd5308c9ac613a3a40737ede.png

Yes- we're on the Quest now and it took effect this sailing.  $5 more per night is reasonable given that the price of food has increased so much.
