  1. Did you join the Crown & Anchor? If you did you can log into the members section and it will tell you what the perks are for your status. I believe you would be a Gold Member. If you did not register you should do so, not sure if they will go back and pick up your past two cruises. Someone with a bit more knowledge may know the answer. After you have cruised a certain amount of cruises I do know that you get a Suite discount

  2. You would think that it is lower, but from RCL's perspective, you actually paid more, and IMO that's at the core of their pricing scheme. To get the $300 OBC, you part with $1834, and the OBC costs RCL ~$100, so they get $1734 net revenue from you. If you use your C&A discount, they get $1784. If you take the OBC "deal," they know you'll probably spend $200 of it on shore excursions or in the shops (where they get a hefty % of the cost rebated to them). If you take the C&A "deal" they know you'll probably spend that much on board out of pocket, so they come out ahead either way.

I understand what you are saying but I would spend that money anyway, so I would travel for less money if I don't use my " benefits " as a C&A member.

  3. Saw this thread and wanted to ask if what I found was correct.

I logged on " without " my C&R login and found a cruise for a total of $1834.70 with $300.00 OBC so in reality the price is $1534.70.

Went back in and logged in with my C&R login and the price went down to $1784.70 with no OBC.

So am I understanding this right? if I act like a complete new customer who has never sailed on RCCL before I can actually buy this cruise for $250.00 cheaper than a C&R member?

I understand the overalll price is less as a C&R member but the OBC I know I will use and if it wasn't there it would come out of my pocket at the end of the cruise anyway.

  4. The first thing I always do is head to the MDR and check to be sure we have the table we want .

Next thing is head to the Specialty restaurant, they have the menu's for every night of the cruise, we look over the menu's and decide which night we will eat there.

If a new ship, we will start exploring to get to know the ship.

Get some lunch and hopefully get in our cabin then back to exploring

  5. Bev - we are also watching it and are on your sailing. Just to make matters worse - we are sailing the Freedom from Dec 28 to Jan 4. She hasn't had a full unaltered itinerary for weeks.

Between the propulsion issues on both ships and the departure/arrival port issues for the Freedom/Explorer - it has been interesting.

    We'll hope for the best.

Amen to that, we are on the Explorer on 12/23/14 and then on the 2 day sampler on Freedom on 1/4/15 Waiting to see how everything goes for us. On a lighter note, we are on the Enchantment on 1/30/15 for a Super Bowl cruise, haven't heard any issues with her!!!

  6. We are also on the 12/23/14 Explorer cruise, I was told by someone that if there is only one RCCL ship in port it will return to the terminal it left from. I guess that is not true because Explorer left from terminal 10 and returned to terminal 6 and is the only RCCL ship in port today. Guess we won't know until the 27th when we return. I do know we are scheduled to leave from terminal 10
