Also of travel note, Southwest is offering all rapid rewards members 50% with code: BDAY
Saw some pretty good prices but the times still won't work for my August trip to Orlando. A while back I booked Frontier there because they had a late flight Friday night and Alaska back home because the time was perfect. Already got a notice the Alaska flight had a time change.... by 5 freaking minutes🤦
I did book cheap Southwest flights with points as backup for flying day of in case anything happens with the Friday flight.

hugs from a little calmer but still shaky north texan!!
That's good news, hopefully you can sleep a little bit better now. What an awful tragedy for the poor neighbor☹️

We just recently did the Lumberjack show with a visit to Totem Bight Park excursion thru NCL. Loved this excursion but the only downside was there was absolutely no time to shop in Ketchikan where it looked like the best shopping compared to Juneau and Skagway. But there was a nice extensive variety gift shop at Totem Bight.

I'm not a long time NCL cruiser but I was just telling my husband today I booked Moderno instead of steakhouse for upcoming August cruise.
We like steakhouse meals on ships but I don't eat seafood and I was complaining why are all the apps seafood, where's the pork belly at least lol.
I think the new menu works for me also because one less dish means I can enjoy and maybe finish a dessert instead of being so full I just take a few bites and waste it.

Great review, got to relive my new favorite ship.
We had a regular inside spa cabin forward on Deck 5. Great location but the noisiest cabin we have ever been in, we usually stay far far back aft. We also had issues with our room cooling, especially at night.
Was really disappointed the thermal suite wasn't the same as we had on the Dream, my fault for not doing my research. We only went twice, too crowded and too noisy in there to enjoy☹️
Loved all the new bars, spent the most time in Golden Jubilee working my way down the huge and interesting menu.
Loved the free dining options, ate at Chibang 3 times with no extra charge. We never made it to Emeril's, Street Eats, Pizza, or Deli. Didn't eat in the MDR at all and only twice at the buffet the breakfast.
Lucky you have another chance to do what you missed on the Jubilee.
My next Carnival cruise isn't until next March on the Vista but I'm keeping my eye out for another good offer on another Excel class ship and will consider jumping ship lol.

I personally loved Celebration, actually my favorite ship so far. The only reason it wasn't my favorite cruise ever was because of the ho hum Western Caribbean itinerary. Yes it's a big ship but when I sailed
I didn't think it was too crowded, other than the 5 minute wait in line for a Guy's Burger. I don't usually sail during summer or peak times but I can imagine it might be an issue feeling crowded at those times.
So many great food options both free and fee, great bars with unique drinks, lots of fun trying new ones.
Great entertainment with very good new production type shows. You will want to get there early for a good seat.
If you like comedy there is lots of comedy scheduled day and night, very good comedy.
One thing I was disappointed with was the spa thermal suites. We had a spa cabin and I was excited until I saw the very small and very limited thermal suites. We ended up only going twice.
Also it seemed the cabins had paper thin walls we could hear everything from the hallways and cabins next door, even toilets flushing lol. Also there were an extraordinary amount of door slammers, I mean day and night, it was really bad.
So far I haven't sailed the same ship twice but if there is the right itinerary at the right time I would love to sail this ship again.

Only three more pictures left from this day on board. I decided to check out some of the "for fee" options at Guy's Pig and Anchor BBQ... This was called the Pig and Anchor melt. A huge monster of a sandwich. It came with a side, so I got the mashed potatoes with red-eye gravy and burnt ends. It was about the saddest looking bit of mashed potatoes ever, but the huge sandwich was pretty good...
Yum that is a monster of a sandwich, looks really good.

Everytime I see a review of that ship I so want to sail on it. I even saw I had one of those $100 offers for a 10 day sailing but the timing is all wrong booooo.
Loved the review, so many things had me laughing. My favorite was Tuesday after you had all those drinks and went to take a nap. I thought for sure you would be out until the next day. Then I see the pic of the Phoenix rising, hilarious. And let's not forget the Anus sighting😂
I know there were times where you missed your dad dearly but you also had good moments, good reminders and good memories.
Lucky for us viewers the fun isn't over just taking a short pause. Can't wait for your next adventure!

When I was making dinner tonight I noticed that I couldn't really smell that well, even though I was cooking with fresh chopped garlic and drinking red wine... I decided to burn through one of my last remaining corona virus tests, but it ended up negative... I guess that it's just lingering effects of the cruise crud, but it's also strange to lose my taste and smell... Possibly a "new variant" not perceptible by an older corona virus test?...
Way back when I finally got Covid I took 2 home tests, negative. Went to Walgreens same day, positive. Husband already had it so was pretty sure I had it. Also that was when we got 10 paid days off from work and only had very mild symptoms for two days. Sounds like you have all the classic symptoms, hope it doesn't last long☹️

So here I was really hoping my daughter would fall in love with cruising on her first cruise. Turns out I needn't have worried. In 3 days she has won each night in the casino including 2 hand pays totaling over $4000, minus the $200 a day she invested of her money she's up a good chunk.
I guess mother doesn't know best because I lectured her for picking RC and paying too much🤨

Wow that was a nice long and productive day. Aruba is very pretty and the food all looked amazing!
One of these days I'm going to get brave and get off the ship and go somewhere that's not a ship excursion. You make it look easy and appealing.

I just ran into a close talker with bad breath. He’s a high level guy at work so I gotta be careful but boy did I jump back when he started talking.
Yikes I can just imagine. I had a co worker that didn't wear deodorant. Yes in the Texas year round oven temps no deodorant. Many people went to HR to complain. Turns out nothing could be said because she said it was part of her culture not to wear deodorant.

That's going to be it for today, since all my Aruba pictures are on my backup phone, and I have no WiFi at home... We'll pick this up tomorrow at Eagle Beach and some of the best food I had the entire cruise... I know this "after" review probably isn't nearly exciting as the rapid fire "live" version, but it is what it is... We'll see y'all tomorrow.........
I'm enjoying the slower paced review just fine, see you tomorrow.

Between @TxTeach79 & @sid_9169 and everyone else that’s leaving to go on a cruise… cough seems like all of you cough… I’m going through withdrawals. I don’t think the Allure with the kids should count. I need a re-do.
I guess I’ll just sit here smugly for the next 58 days. 😆Sigh.... I'm at 68 days then a big old long dry spell until March 2025. Unless I get a crazy good Xmas offer like last year and a family member will go with me this time🤞

Serves me right I guess. I mean, I look like a fat pancake guy tbhHaHa but there's no such thing. I love pancakes! I'm making breakfast for dinner and having me some fat pancakes. Now I regret not buying that bottle of maple syrup in Canada.

I was going to say that's the saddest skillet cake I have ever seen. It's usually plated very nicely with all those ingredients and it looks and tastes yummy. You for sure just got a fat pancake😕

The Jade is now our favorite ship. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
I expect I will. I have read nothing but good things about the Jade! Really looking forward to trying the Asian restaurant.

Great review, thanks. Encore is my favorite ship, but I'd never take NCL to Alaska. Based on what I can see (and have read) they just don't do it "right".
I'll probably go Holland America. They've been doing it for 1000 or so years, and have it figured out.
I kinda knew that going in but I had a really great deal to sail NCL and it had to be in May. But yes another line would have had a better port schedule and not docked shuttle rides away.
-
I forgot to mention in Ketchikan there was a huge and I mean huge gift shop at the port.

When you took the excursion to Ketchikan, did they provide shuttle service to and from Ward Cove? I’m looking at the pub crawl just to avoid the shuttles.
Yes the excursion provided a shuttle.
