We have half a day before our mid afternoon flight and would like to store our luggage or get an airport transfer with a bit of sightseeing along the way.
-
Thank you Bowie MeMe. That's a fabulous report and will help us (and many others I'm sure) make up our mind.
-
Hi. If on Princess, have you looked at their shuttle transfer service? We are disembarking on 30 Jan 18 with $19.00 transfer fee per person from port to Sydney airport.
The Princess shuttles go to Central Station or the Airport dropping at domestic and international terminals. In Sydney it's an exceptionally good deal. But as others have said there are plenty of taxis.

Here is a link to their tour: https://www.eatours.ae/tours/half-day-desert-safari/
They are based out of Abu Dhabi.
That looks good thanks. And the price is reasonable too.

Does anyone with experience of this type of tour in Dubai or Abu Dhabi know if it's possible to avoid the dune bashing section of the tour? We really want to experience the dunes but we're older and don't want to be shaken to bits.

For Crown Princess...Mediteranean trips!
International cafe breakfast is lovely peaceful and delicious.
Take a 4 gang plug as only one plug.
Ask for robes - no cost from steward.
Don't have sift drinks package unless 4 drinks a day
Add a little gin to add to nohito! Use toiletry bottles from Poundland!
Check your hair appliances run on 110v
Vines has tapas and sushi with a glass of wine after 5pm.
Free sauna and steam room in spa toilets.. nice towels and lotion available too
.funicular in genoa is cheap fun but no really good views . The taxi is a rip off ...one wanted €25 for 10 min journey...ask for price in Italy they don't use the meter.
Take a really good instant..millicano or other as coffee is awful
Order whole pizza room service for $3.00 if you tired.
Barcelona taxi cheaper and easier than princess shuttle.
(€14 to sagrada familiar on far side of town) sagrada needs to be booked!
Do try happy hour and then sit on the deck for a half price treat!
If you are on anytime dining. RING and book a table on dine line ( on cabin phone) after 8 am to avoid queue and swank past people who dont reserve .. ring early on formal nights!
If you don't drink all your wine in one sitting. They will put it away until the next time you want it at dinner.
There is a grapevine wine tasting at@$9.50 ...(its only £8.00) but is really good fun for little money.
Crown has free mini golf and boule on deck 17... fun.
Crown is not the newest but the staff are lovely and the ship is in fine order...dont listen to the moaners!
Thanks for the nice review of the Crown. She hasn't had many good reports lately.

Anyone use a private excursion/tour company in Bar Harbor or Halifax?
Sailing to New England/Canada week of Sept 23.
Thanks,
RonniLJ
If you're sailing on the Crown Princess drop into the Roll Call. It's small but friendly.

It depends who you're sailing with of course, but most cruise lines provide a debark tour from the ship to the airport. It usually covers most of the significant tourist sights including at least one stop and your luggage just goes along with you.

Yeah Ken is a great photographer, did a couple of his lectures a while back, nice bloke too.
I think you meant to say Ken Done is a great Australian ARTIST, not photographer.

Just disembarked from a Sydney return cruise which included an Anzac service for the 85% of passengers from Australia and New Zealand. A prayer was said for Queen Elizabeth, a man with a beautiful voice sang the NZ National Anthem, the Australian National Anthem was played on the piano followed by God Save the Queen, a wreath was cast to sea, the trumpeter played his part.
We were on the same cruise and while we appreciated having a service we thought the prayer for the Queen and playing God Save the Queen were inappropriate. We also thought someone should have said we now invite you to sing the Australian National Anthem.

Some areas sorely need it. I was on her in January and have never seen a Princess ship look so 'tatty'.
Agree. She's badly in need of some TLC.
-
Even when the excursion is fully booked there's usually an option to reserve. Once you click on that it will show you as wait listed. By the time you get on the ship there's every chance you'll be fully booked.
You might get some more advice if we knew what excursion on which cruise.

I love threads like this. It allows us all to share our best tips and experiences and what we love about sailing with Princess. And get excited for the new cruiser as if it was really us going :-)

Will be with a group of 8 on upcoming Regal princess cruise. We would prefer a round table in the main dining room for dinner. We have reservations for 8 each evening. Wondering how we go about requesting a round table?
When you arrive at the restaurant just ask. It shouldn't be a problem at all. You'll have that same table every night of the cruise. Same time. Same place.

There's a photo of the bottle lying on the wharf at http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/89259548/emergency-services-rush-to-port-chalmers-after-explosion-on-cruise-ship
It looks like one of the bottles we have at home for our cooking & heating. I hope there are not too many people injured.

I'm planning to do that exact thing: Transfer from one TA to another. I called Princess to ask about it and was told that, while the original TA has to agree to the transfer, in the 20 years the person had been doing this sort of thing with Princess she had never heard of a TA not releasing a booking. I don't believe my current TA has any sort of charges but even it he did it would likely only be a pittance compared to the benefit from the new TA.
Please let us know how you get on.
-
Yes, but it is more complicated.
Usually you will have to have the original TA give Princess permission to transfer the booking to a different agent. And the original TA may have some cancellation charges for you to pay.
Thanks. I didn't think of that.
-
Can your transfer your booking from one Travel Agent to another? Does it matter whether you've paid in full or just a deposit? Thank you for tolerating my off topic but similar question.
Places to stay near Fort Lauderdale - any good suggestions please

Another vote for Embassy Suites on 17th. Evening Reception, 5 min walk to markets, restaurants, cafes and the trolley to the beach stops at the shops going and opposite on the way home. Great location, clean and runs a shuttle to the port.
