What happens if one person tests positive ? Do they refund the whole booking ?
or can the person testing negative still sail and the other one get a refund.?
anyone had experience of this?
-
Thanks firefly333
just the sort of info I was looking for
will check out NCL protocols but we are looking at February so think we will hold off booking for a while.
RCC stil have mandatory testing prior to boarding for the UK departing cruises
-
A question for anyone who has done a b to b recently
did you have to have a second test prior to the second cruise?
also has anyone changed ships on a b to b
we are thinking of doing an RCL for a week then an NCL for a second week
had anyone any experience of doing this recently?
we would be flying in from the UK
thanks

Has anyone heard about any changes to the pre departure test requirements from Southampton?

Lindy pops it might help if narrowed down the cruise line.
We are going with Riviera but really every line will have similar things
the Viking example someone has posted is very useful .

Do you get a daily document showing the activities, excursions and sailing times etc each day?
if so does anyone have an example?
thanks -

Nice to hear things are returning to some sort of normality😊
please can I ask a couple of questions
are you still allowed to take a bottle of spirits on board at embarkation?
please can you post a photo of the onboard, drink in yourcabin , prices for bottles of spirits and mixers?

Hello! On Iona now- captain aborted trying to dock as the wind on the beam was pushing the ship despite thrusters. So they aborted and now we are docked in a sunny (but windy) Tenerife. The captain has been keeping us well informed about the stormy conditions; hopefully we have seen the worst now.
I have question as you are onboard now
how much does a bottle of gin and some tonics , to drink in the cabin, cost?
i found this in the t’s and c’sshould guests wish to enjoy a drink in their cabin, they will be able to refer to the in-cabin directory which has a selection of spirits and wines which can be purchased by the bottle,

There is no paper version of the PLF. It can only be completed digitally.
You must also pre-book your Day 2 test in order to complete the form. Will you not have access to the internet between leaving the ship and flying home? Most airports have free wifi.
You need wifi to complete the form and register it .
we returned from a land based trip to Corfu a few weeks ago and the people at check in trying to show all the correct paper work on their phones were having lots of problems .
we had everything on paper and had no problems
-
How do we get our PLF for returning to the UK while on Jewel of the seas ?
we will not have WIfi and want a paper copy.
what have past guests done ?
thanks

We're on the 15th sailing - hoping to do our own thing in Liverpool 🙂
Spoke to my TA on the same subject and they said it will probably be quite a while until they will allow guests to do their own thing on the UK seacations , maybe September or October but things change on a daily basis .
The last thing they want is cases being brought on the ship.
As for Europe the TA thought probably next year at the earlyest ☹️

Did you notice all the mozzies in the corner of that seating area?
I too notice the odd charges on the bar bill but as you say the total was zero.
A coffee in the buffet this morning was £8.40.- 1

Please can you post a photo of the list of what is on during the day
thanks

Why was it the most frightening experience of your life?
what happened exactly?
We were on Costa Classica about 10 years ago the week after it crashed into a freighter in Shanghai.
we were delayed by 3 days while they welded a plate across the 12 cabins on deck 5 which were destroyed in the crash.
The weather was not good , lots of rain and eventually a force 8 for 4 days and 3 nights.
The repair was not good and water was pouring in and down deck 5 and also through the ceilings of the upper decks . Lots of buckets everywhere catching the drips.
Ship was pitching and rolling and it was impossible to sleep without holding on.
Crew were nowhere to be seen probably as ill as the rest of the guests .
When we docked in Vietnam they crashed into the pier and there was another large dent in the side of the ship
We really thought we were not going to get off the ship alive
we did get a refund for the 3 missed days
A number of other reasons , smoking inside , buffet closed after 3 pm , people fainting at the muster drill which was inside all stood up wearing life jackets for 45 minutes , all announcements in 5 languages .
Guess we just had a bad experience but having been on many other lines we are not prepared to try them again

Costa - never, ever again.
Totally agree
we have done 31 cruises with various lines and just 1 with Costa.
It was the most frightening experience of my life and we nearly died .😡
wouldn't go with Costa if they paid me .

Are you allowed to get off at the ports?
Or is it paid excursions only?
NCL are saying ships excursions only for July and August , they will review it in August .
guess the rest will do the same
