I am so embarrassed to admit I live in LA with this 3rd world port. 🤦🏼‍♀️ And we pay more taxes than almost any state! 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

I am not sure you can blame it all on the port, although I totally agree that it needs major upgrading! We sail out of there quite a bit on the new Discovery Princess which holds 3660+. We never had an issue boarding or disembarking.

Yeh that is the worse terminal. Earlier she texted and said it was changed to 93. I had high hopes for the better terminal.

It sounds like you are dropping luggage at 93 then trekking it out to 50. I was wondering how the Joy could fit in berth 93. It is usually for the smaller ships. Hopefully they will have Haverners (my new term) wait inside. Yes, the weather is going to suck here tomorrow. We are having record breaking low temps and rain. That could be. The Haven is sold out. Would they be able to invite pax outside the Haven though? Are there zero Haveners (is that a word?😂) outside of the group on that cruise?

Deck 16 is the Haven. How can they book that if they are not in the Haven?

Interesting, though, that is the only cruise in April showing the Haven as SOLD OUT.

Departing the ship was super easy. The port uses facial recognition for those with passports. We were home by 9:00 AM. We really enjoyed this short getaway cruise. The staff were wonderful and we met a lot of fun people onboard. Although it was a sold out cruise it never felt overly crowded. Yes, the pools and hot tubs were packed on sea days, but port on days were rather empty.

We received the paper copies without asking. My guess is that they will do away with the paper copies eventually.

Not that we saw. We did not get off of the ship but I didn’t see anything that looked like shops close by.
