  1. Going on the Harmony for the 1st time with a group of 14, most who have never cruised! I’m not familiar with the new boarding process and the new set sail passes! Yikes.... what do I️ need to know?

The most crucial things are to make reservations for your shows and dinner. Look for sales on excursions, beverage packages and internet and buy those in advance. Everything else will be fine

  2. Thank you for the clarification. I always add to the prepaid daily service charge but didn't realize just how important it is. I do have another question. If we give them cash directly versus adding it to their account, do they have to report it?

It is my understanding that if prepaid gratuities are removed then they do report it. This way it does not appear as if they had done a poor job.

  3. omg you all need to chill. you can tip, if others choose not to for whatever reason, they don't have to! live your lives! don't worry about others!

We are worried about the staff that don’t get their tip when the auto gratuities are removed. And it’s our right to do so. Yes the room steward and dining staff you can see them and tip them. But the behind the scenes staff get shafted. And I’m very chill.

  4. There is a LOT of judgment in these replies. We have no idea what the passengers OP mentioned actually did. It's none of our business. Since gratuities are optional at this point in time on this cruise line, they can be removed. Pretty simple stuff.

Hmmm. It’s none of our business. Yet the OP posted in a public forum.

  5. I wish the gratuity would be made mandatory. Even if you give cash to the room steward and to the dining room staff. About $4 of the gratuity goes to other staff you don’t see to tip individually. 4,000 people on a ship times $4. That is $16,000 to be divided amount staff. They need that money.
