  1. And from what I've heard, people rave about how good the food is, because it's all made to order.
  2. I've been taking a deep dive into VV and the more I see, the more I'm intrigued. We've been wanting to make a return to HAL. In fact we've had the same itinerary booked 3 times that we've ended up cancelling. We've started doing side-by-sides, because it saves us on air and gives us a longer break from the cold and from work.
  3. I won't go anywhere! I've enjoyed CC for 18 years! And who knows, maybe things take a turn for the better.
  4. Duke, the new executive chef, wants to change your mind on that🤣
  5. So the debt picture is not as bad. They turned a profit the end of that quarter same quarter and are continuing to invest billions in new ship across both lines.
  6. Where are you coming up with $30B in debt? This article is less than a month old and states RCG as a whole is $19B in debt and that's not preventing them from ordering new ships. The talk track doesn't line up! https://thepointsguy.com/news/royal-caribbean-cruise-ship-order-plans-liberty/
  7. Not my jam at all! I don't like seafood at all!
  8. Ah, but the key is, there are not other included dining options at night. OVC and MDR are it. Everything else is an additional cost, including room service. Mast Grill and Spa Cafe are closed. Compare that to other lines, almost everyone else has 2-3 casual options, or more, that are included at night.
  9. Lots to unpack here! Now they're subsidising my vacation? Entitlement? Sure, I'm entitled to the product I paid for, so I guess I'm entitled!
  10. I'm hoping they take the feedback and come up with a happy medium in advance of April.
  11. Worst in terms of selection/variety. I repeat that, because it's worth repeating. Since Celebrity markets itself in higher end category, cutting 2/3 of the options at the OVC makes it the substandard. We actually sold a friend coming with us in April based on the amount of healthy options available in the OVC, so we were actually bringing a newbie into the fold.
  12. Here is Duke at his press conference announcing that he is the new Executive Chef for Celebrity! A big day indeed!
  13. Wow! You do know that some of us don't have the luxury of just driving to the port. We have more than our cruise fare. There is air, baggage fees, hotels, car rentals, etc. We also have plenty of other places we can spend $24K , so I'm not how that makes anyone cheap. Good for you being able to spend that on a cruise, but because we can't or wouldn't doesn't make us cheap or bargain hunters!
  14. Not if you can't bring in and hold onto younger cruisers. We're approaching our late 40s, aiming for early retirement, where we'd cruise more. After our Apex cruise last April, we had planned on having Celebrity in heavy rotation. Now, maybe not as much unless we see things trending in the right direction again.
  15. Enough food according to you. It lacks proteins and vegetables. Those happen to be important to us. As I've stated before, they can still reduce waste without reducing the OVC to the worst in the industry. My point about suites was that some say they don't use the OVC so, the cuts are fine. It was a joke. I paid for one OVC and getting one that is substantially worse than what I paid for.
  16. Again, we paid for, as you call it "my buffet preference" and a being given something substantially less than what we paid for. As many of us have stated, we don't like the MDR experience and use the OVC for dinner. This is not the same things as eliminating the totally unnecessary midnight buffet. You know, I don't book suites, so I think they should do away with The Retreat and Luminae. That's how this works, right?
  17. We had the same experience on our Canada/NE Voyager cruise in September.
  18. Come on! There is a huge difference between what it was in the 90s and now vs. the last week of December 2022 and the first week of 2023. Anyone that booked in the last year book with the understanding that we'd have the OVC we've come to know. Celebrity is a $3B company and Royal is a $10B company. I understand that the last couple years have been rough, but cutting back to be the worst dinner buffet at sea isn't going to earn them any repeat business, especially from those of us that didn't pay for lesser quality when we made our final payments.
  19. I'm approaching my late 40s , am a DINK, planning on early retirement in Florida with the intention of cruising a lot more. We are Elite, due to being Diamond on Royal and planned on cruising X a lot more. We have potentially decades of cruising ahead of me. We're about to do 180 on Celebrity and look elsewhere. Is that a smart business decision to alienate younger generations when they need passengers to fill new, larger ships?
  20. Yep, this is exactly what we do. I'm well versed in these platforms, having used most of the major software. In my opinion, all companies should be doing this. You catch onto things so much faster than sitting around waiting for news to come to you. Allows a company to react, or not react, so much quicker.
  21. I'm not so sure. Companies are much more in tune with things like Reddit, forums, etc. They can't afford not to be. My companies does this type of monitoring for companies.
