Just Go to the casino these are plastic and springy and there are several colors to chose from and they are free. Not fashionable at all but they work. BTW we've never used one.

Not the closest hotel to the port but definitely doable just allow for the extra travel time
-
Also, If your staying in a major city plan to drive through that city before you stop for the night so will not have to fight rush hour traffic in the morning
-
Taxis are a flat fee from the airport to the cruise terminal. I believe it is $18 pp for the 1st 2 people and the $15pp for 3 people and up

We sailed Costa 1 time many years ago so do not have any current comparison. However, we thought the food was a little better than Carnival at the time and the pasta dishes were very good. All announcements were read in 4 different languages, understandable since it is an European line, so they seemed to go on forever and became annoying as there were multiple announcement every day, more often than on current Carnival cruises.
This was a Caribbean cruise out of Ft Lauderdale, and there were multiple extended families from European countries onboard that seemed to think that they owned the ship and all the walkways throughout as they would be spread out from one side to the other and would rather bump into you than move out of the way and we couldn't move out of the way as there was no place to go but try to plaster ourselves up against the wall as they went by. This happened more than several time per day with many more than one extended family doing this.
Service was not memorable so it must have been as least OK. Ship was very nice with lots of marble every where. As I remember the price was REALLY inexpensive. Would probably not sale again with them unless the price was right, which seems to be the case for you.
FWIW, have never sailed NCL and have no desire to try them.

My story of cruiser kindness was from my first cruise with my Mom, so many years ago I won't say (I was a little girl, and I now have grown girls of my own & preparing for my 2nd cruise)
When we were in our cabin we could hear a man constantly coughing, he was obviously very sick. One day up on deck Mom heard him and noticed he seemed to be alone. She ended up befriending him that day and helping him throughout the rest of our cruise, and even met his adult son that was his travelling companion.
Fast forward a year later....that very nice, sick with a bad cold older gentleman became my Grandfather, when my Mom married his son.
WOW!! Very Cool

Also the shuttle to the port will be very crowded with multiple stops at the other piers

How did you book your room with Holiday Inn or a website?
-
Depending on the Port boarding process will probably not start until about 11:00. However you will board right after wedding parties if there are any. Some ports let Diamond Platinum and FTTF all board at once, some board Diamond then Platinum then FTTF

You post the same thing in every guys burger thread. We get it. You don't like them. Good for you.
The question was what do you put on them. Since you don't eat them, it probably doesn't apply to you.
I finally added him to my ignore list. Now. I don't have to waste my time reading his responses
To keep on topic, This what I put on my burger. Sautéed Mushrooms and Onions, Bacon Bits, Fresh Onions, Pickles, Tomatoes, and Mustard all without a Bun.

As others have said canceling a cruise is highly unlikely. Even though its a 4 day cruise it could be turned into a 3 day cruise to nowhere. You would get the prorated credit for the day(s) lost

On any Cruise Carnival ship we've been on, if we have a late departure such as 10pm the MDR has always been open seating

I have a friend who is adverse to tipping! She can't understand why I cruise with everyone but her? She in restaurants has been known to leave a card on the table with life tips but no tip money !OMG

Go to the Atrium Bar in the evening and have Theresa make you the drink of your choice. She may be the best bartender on Carnival. She makes a great drink and is one of the most nice and genuine people we have ever met. Tell her Keith & Shelley say Hi. FYI we were not having a great first day on our last cruise and we ran into her in the evening and the rest of our cruise was awesome!

We have made a 10 am flight several times. If your debarkation day is any day but Sunday the airport will not be that busy
-
The pager will work pretty much everywhere on the ship. We've gone to the casino and the Alchemy Bar and the pagers have worked w/o problems
-
The pedi cabs will take you to the taxi stand and the driver will give you his pedi cab number and someone at the taxi stand will call for him to come and take you back to the ship. We have done this several times as my wife has knee issues also
Tell me about breakfast :)
