No complimentary access to the thermal suite on the newer Royal Class ships like Sky, but you do get the complimentary speciality dinner on embarkation night and access to the Concierge Lounge which doesn't exist on the older ships. Here is the suite perks letter you get in your suite (with Club Class now renamed to Reserve Dining):

Thank you for this information. Would the perks listed in this letter be the same for Enchanted Princess?

I'd have to go look but the July 4th code was $10 off.

North lot is closest if it's not booked up. It has some inside parking, pot luck, whatever is open when you get there.

I booked months ago for next Sunday and paid for covered parking. I noticed that it does not seem to be bookalble any more when I was checking for a future cruise. I am glad you confirmed this before I arrived on Sunday and started the cruise very irritated. I have a couple days to get over it.

ETA: Well, I just checked again and it is possible to book covered at the North Lot. Maybe the site was funky when I checked a week or so again. Very strange.

This is why I am a "nervous Nelly" and book RCCL excursions. This could happen on a RCCL excursion, of course. But they will know why I am late at least. Mom, my travel buddy, is a senior and I am getting close. It was easier to be brave with DH by my side. But since he is in a better place, I will do the best I can.

@LeeWThank you for the information.  I appreciate knowing what to expect.

Anyone been before and can guide me towards the best excursion, especially want to know the difference btwn the first and third options. How difficult is the walking? We have some older family members (70+, some fitter than others). Any tips and advice are much appreciated!

When are you cruising? Mom and I are doing the Exclusive drive in a couple weeks.  We will be back on July 16 and I can tell you how it went.

They are getting everything in top shape for the the President’s Cruise that happens next month. With the CEO and others sailing the ship will be in pristine condition!!

I sail on Allure in two weeks.  I thought they were doing all this just for me! Of course, I am kidding. I am a bit worried that different areas will not be accessible during our trip as they spruce up. Oh well, we will just make the best of it - and enjoy the new trees!🙂

  6. Oh, wow! Way off topic, but thanks for the memories! Many years ago, we lived in STX. We actually lived on the East End. We would drive across the island to Fredricksted for hair cuts, "real" fountain sodas, and night dives at the pier. Wendy's used to have a location there and it was the only place on the island where a fountain drink tasted like back home. You could walk down the pier and I remember looking up at a Royal ship and wished I was on it.

    Have a great trip brenderlou62!

The truth is that it is all about status. Your TA probably has the lowest status with MSC, so no dedicated hotline, no perks, no bonuses, it is the same as with us passengers, some are YC, some are Bella Inside and they will not get the same experience with MSC 😉

Not sure how this works, but my TA (not in US market, so no use for you) can handle this things. He has the highest status for TA with MSC, that is COMMANDER. On the other hand exactly this TA complains a lot about Celebrity Cruises, they ignore questions, reply extremely slow, bad availability on the phone and so on.

To make it short, a TA who has a excellent business status with RCCL probably will tell you bad things about MSC and that he don´t want to do business with them. And opposite with MSC "Commanders". So always keep in mind, what a TA tells you always depends on HIS relationship with the cruise line and not your cruise experience.

Thank you so much! This totally makes sense.

We only deal with our MSC cruise concierge to book our cruises. We have never had to call their center ever. I just send an email or text him and within a few minutes, he calls me. We have 8 YC booked and there have been some special circumstances that he was able to help us with.

I found your post while researching after my TA declined to book my cruise. I have two questions and was hoping you would be willing to give me some advice.

I am researching booking two state rooms in the MSC YC. When I am searching on the MSCUSA site, a pop-up appears asking if I would like a cruise concierge to call me.  Is this how to access the same type of cruise concierge you are referencing?

I am planning a trip for two college age kids, my mom, and myself. I rarely make changes once my plans are made. However, my mom may be more likely to require a change. Clearly, life happens and any of us could have a problem. Should an unfortunate event happen, would the cruise concierge have the ability to make a sailing date or name change?

    Thank you for any help!

I will warn you that once you go suites, especially Yacht Club, it is incredibly hard to ever go back.

So true! I already tried it. We sailed to Alaska on Ovation of the Seas in a Grand Suite in June 2022. I found a July BARGAIN on Allure in a balcony for 8 days to the ABC Islands. Seriously, I couldn't have stayed at the Days Inn for 8 nights any cheaper. I am a teacher and have to sail when prices are high. So, I was over the moon. But after that suite experience,. . . It was fun and I really enjoyed Curacao. But it was not the same at all without the "suite" life.

If we do go during spring break, it will be on the Seashore. So I am off to read your review of that ship!

BTW You guys are moving to Alaska?? How exciting! It is sooo beautiful! Before the kids came along, my husband and I lived in St. Croix for a bit. It was an experience I'll never forget. I was glad to come home though, but it is a great story to tell! I hope you guys love it!!

  10. Oh my goodness, thank you for your review! The suite bug bit me last summer. This summer, I booked another suite and will be leaving soon. I have been thinking on and off about the MSC Yacht Club for a long time. In order to beat the post cruise blues, I have been researching a way to bring my kids along my next suite adventure but not have to sell the house to pay for my addiction.😉 I have been watching videos and pricing out some spring break cruises the past few days. Well, your review sealed the deal for me! After my son lets me know if he wants to come and I do a little more research about the cancelation policy/changing passenger names/changing dates, MSC Yacht Club it is!

Your review was awesome! Thanks again!

I don’t really know anything  and not sure if this helps but I see MSC missing from some  sites and doing different itinerary on some. Maybe it has been chartered? Maybe check MSC board?

Thanks for the ideas. I posted a question on the MSC board. I also checked the MSC site. Nothing was listed between an early July short sailing and a mid July longer sailing.  So, it might in fact be chartered. I also thought that it might have a short break for maintenance or something. It could just be sold out. Ours on Allure is just about sold out.

I checked my Sept 7 date and it has the harmony , Celebration, Breeze and Seaside ( twice). It says 5 ships but it says Seaside both times, so I’m guessing the site ( whatsinport.com) meant Seaside and Seascape. Is there a beach with food and alcohol I can go away from the throngs of ppl? Looks like my typical Krazy Lobster will be too crowded. I’d hate to stay on ship but I will if I’m literally going to be rubbing elbows with everyone.

I haven't been to Costa Maya in a long long time. We have a Chacchoben excursion booked. So, we will just jump right back on the ship as soon as it is over. I can't even imagine 4 ships there at the same time, much less 5. Oh well, I am just happy to be on a cruise.
