  1. We purchased our American Airlines flight in December for our May 30th cruise. In February, our flight time was changed by 2 hours and 19 minutes. At that time, we were not offered to change our flight or receive a refund. I did read on one of the frequent flyer blogs that you could receive a refund if the change was 2 hours or more. But I read about the policy some time after the change was made. Any thoughts about getting a refund now? Probably next to zero. . .
  2. I hope you are right. People are much more important than money. I hope the sick get the help they need. It is just hard to see several years of gains slip away in days and the worst may be yet to come.
  3. Well, I am supposed to sail May 30th. I priced out the exact same cruise in June of 2021. If our sailing is cancelled, the 125% FCC would not come close to covering the 2021 cruise. May cruises are cheaper than June cruises and the price may drop, but still... My 401(k) is falling faster than a lead balloon. The financial news leaves me sick to my stomach. If only 80% was offered, I don't know what I would do. I would think about taking the cash and running with it. I should have done that with my 401 (k) when I had the chance. At least I am able to put food on the table and have a job. My heart goes out to so many many people affected by this halting of society.
  4. Too funny!! You had me there for a minute! We moved a few years ago. Now I miss my hot tub.
  5. I love Disney. I love to cruise. I am not a scientist or doctor. But I'd have to agree. I am much closer to people much more of the time at Disney World. The words that make me cringe - "fill in all available space." You are seriously shoulder to shoulder and face to face with people in tiny pre-show areas and lines. People are sneezing, coughing, and breathing just inches from you. The only time I have been that close to people on a ship is muster drill on the deck of Liberty and walking out of Studio B from muster drill.
  6. Great, thanks! So the T & C in regard to taxes and port fees makes total sense.
  7. Just wondering. . . If you are responsible for the port fees, taxes, and prepaid grats on the new cruise, are they refunded to you from the original cancelled cruise? When we missed our San Juan stop due to riots, we were refunded the port fees. We were already sailing when the decision made to skip the port. So the situation was different.
  8. We won't visit the Beach Club until early June, so it may change. However, where did you wait for the tram to pick you up at the ship?
  9. Well, I just read your recent post. You and I were posting at the same time. I am glad you put the ball in her court. I am glad you are still going on the trip. Anything could happen on a cruise, or any where else for that matter. So, glad to know your grandmother is in good hands should your mom decide to go. It is hard to have an aging parent. I hope your vacation is wonderful!
  10. In the past few years, I have had to encounter things I never thought I would. I see things in a different way now. Here is what I would do if I were in your shoes. Honor her feelings and let her know you hear her concerns. You have probably already told her all the reasons she doesn't need to be concerned. Maybe try once more. Then, let her know that she would not be able to get her money refunded should she cancel. Tell her that you will respect her decision. Then, try to be at peace with what she decides.
  11. For my May sailing on Symphony, the menus are listed in the app. I looked up your sailing. According to the app (don't know if it is correct), the main entrees are: Pan Seared Fillet of Sole Chicken Parmesan Braised Beef Short Rib Caribbean Jerk Pork Loin Creamy Wild Mushroom Risotto Roasted Chicken Breast NY Strip Horseradish Crusted Salmon Spaghetti Bolognese
  12. So glad you mentioned this. . . I was a little unsure about not having a sea day on day 7. You are right, day 7 has always been a little sad. We head to Coco Cay Beach Club in June. Now, I am looking forward to it more than ever.
  13. I like this idea, too! Just an FYI, my Dollar Store white board did work on Harmony. My neighbors wrote sweet comments on it throughout the cruise. I put it on the side of the fridge when we got home. The last sweet note is still on it. If you happen to be reading this post Harmony July 14, 2019, Cabin 12610 - Hello and thanks for the messages! Your former neighbor 12612
  14. That does it! Vacation ruined! Just kidding! Seriously, thanks for the post. Good to know because I like to know what to expect on a cruise and this might have surprised me.
