  1. Cool, Copy and paste into word for later. Going on Glory next April and our group of 6 adults wants to see if we can request a table by the window for our 6:00 pm dinning time. Wife and I's first cruise April of 2016 we got a table by the window and really enjoyed eating dinning and looking out the window at the water. This cruise were bringing 2 other couples, family of ours, who are first time cruisers and just want them to enjoy the same dinner view we had.

  2. No need to buy them , we staple them around our luggage handles and never had a problem in over 30 cruises.

You've been lucky then, my first ever cruise a tag got torn off one of my bags after checking it with carnivals baggage handlers. It wasn't until after dinner I was able to get it. My other bags arrived by 1:00pm. I thought they had lost my bag cause they couldn't find it until after 7pm. It was the bag that had my cloths in it. I was already making plans after dinner to buy some cloths from the fun shops and then more at our first port. After that ordeal, never again, I bought the highwind luggage tags.

  3. Just a quick question instead of starting a new thread. Does Carnival ships have Sprite Zero? Not Diet Sprite but Sprite ZERO. I've search and can only find Diet Sprite but Sprite Zero is diet so its tough to tell if they mean Zero or just diet. But there is a difference between Diet Sprite and Sprite Zero.

  4. One of the reasons i became a hobbiest photographer. Travel tripod and an app on my phone can operate my DSLR thru built in wifi connection between camera and phone. Or find someone like a Carnival staff member to use my camera to take a couple photos. These guys are always happy to help take photos for guests and have operated many types of cameras and don't need much explaining on how to operate the camera. I've also noticed cell phones these days take incredibly sharp and amazing photos these days like iPhone 7, LG phones like my G6, Samsung phones. Near DSLR quality shots out of these phones these days. Anyone in your group has a newer iPhone or LG phone just have a Carnival staff member take a photo for you.

  5. Did you fly into Ft Lauderdale on Friday and stay in Miami the night before. If so, do you recommend an affordable place with pretty easy access for the departure point? Thanks

Whats affordable and what time of year are you looking? Hotel rates change with the seasons. Summer of course going to higher, Late summer some places are pretty cheap though. Fall and winter things go up a bit. February for some reason is high at some places. Early spring isn't too bad except spring break times.

Affordable places I use close to the port when i fly in a day early are YVE Hotel Miami and The Holiday Inn at port of Miami.

  6. Its a big generator. most all Carnival ships have them now since Triumph accident with loosing ALL power because of an engine fire. That was Triumph right? Splendor years ago had same issue also I think with loosing all power. Its a generator thats supposed to be able to power ship essentials encase of a repeat of engine room fire that knocks out all power your not stranded at sea with no power. They can flushing toilets, they can cook meals and keep refrigerators and freezers going, water, HVAC. ship communications. the essentials.

  7. Spending money at ports not including excursions we have a separate stash of cash we have set aside. Usually some cash and use of debit card or credit cards. I dont carry much cash when in ports but some. Too easily lost. credit cards if lost I can call and shut off easily and were not responsible for charges after that. Back on board I can get a different credit card out of the room safe or wife gets her debit or credit card from her wallet.

Again in ports we have an idea but don't fret over it.

  8. Wife and I's first cruise we had no idea what we would spend onboard but brought $900 in gift cards we got from the Verizon points and 20% off eBay purchase. So already ahead we were ahead in savings but knew also we needed to leave $182 something in the S&S account cause our pre-paid gratuities would be coming out towards the end of the the cruise. Day before returning back to port the gratuities came out and we had to add our credit card for one more day but only ended up using maybe another $50 in charges. Basically we kinda had a budget but it wasn't set in stone as we didn't know what we would be spending and we had other money set aside also just encase we had more drinks then we planned.

Next cruise coming up we already paid the gratuities in the cruise cost up front. We already have $50 OBC Carnival gave us when we booked. And we're taking $1000 worth of gift cards same ones you get 10% off through Verizon, aarp and Allstate drive wise app. Going to cut loose a little more this time. Maybe shop a little more in the fun shops onboard, casino, drink prices have gone up a bit since our last cruise also. Wife drinks a lot of iced coffees from the coffee shop. It's our vacation, our budget is what we have in gift cards first then we resort to credit cards but honestly, I don't think we'll go through $1000 between my wife and I for the 7 day cruise. We'll come very close but not much over it if we do.

We have a 5 gallon water bottle that wife and I put all our change into. All coins and most of the time any $1 bills we have in our wallet after the day. Some times $5 bills too. Been doing this for the past 4 months and it almost 1/4 full. Have no idea how much is in there but we have 9 more months till our cruise and the water bottle is for helping buying the gift cards before we leave. Be interesting to see how much ends up in there.

We plan our cruise right after tax return. Tax return pays our flights and hotel night before boarding and the rest is for excursions and spending money.

So we have an idea of we will spend but we don't fret over it. We always go with extra just encase.

  9. The $50 Spa Cards do not indicate that you have to use it for a Spa TREATMENT. So do not toss it out! Go buy a couple bottles of shampoo! $24 each. :)

AWWW REALLY!!?? Our last cruise we got $50 spa card and $25 for bottle of wine cause we were celebrating our anniversary. We didnt use it though cause $50 doesn't get much in services or treatment at the spa except a hair wash but they were booked and couldnt get my wife in. we also got it on second to last day of our cruise. We dont drink wine much cause I dont know much of anything about wine and what to get that I would like. I like sweet wines but have no idea what to get or know what dry wines or blush or any of the wine terms mean. So we didnt use that either. If we buy a bottle, do we get it now or do they keep it till the morning of debark? I dont want to try and get a bottle safely through airline baggage handlers and get home and its broken all over inside the suitcase.

  10. Another for Stingray City in grand Cayman. There are LOTS of tour companies that do Stingray City. Dont book though the ship, you will pay WAY more then booking directly with the tour company themselves. Dont worry about getting back to the ship in time especially if you get on one of the morning tours. you'll have plenty of time The companies and tour guides depend on tourists and cruise ships to feed their business and feed their families. They know what times the ships arrive and leave probably better then you do. They dont want a black mark or review from someone that they got them back to the ship too late and missed their ship. they know when they need to have you back in time. they do this daily. Stingray city only takes half a day so when your done you can go back to the cruise port and walk around shopping at the port or walk up and down the street outside the port. Its a pretty safe town. British island and they cater to tourists as its what keeps that island alive.

  11. Do you know the rate for the whole cruise instead of daily - I read you could prepay but not sure how to do that.

Depends on how many days your cruise is. A 7 day for premium is about $119ish. To prepay or see the price you need to log into your Carnival cruise manager account and from there scroll down some and you'll see internet plans.

  12. But to answer your question yes Splendor is back ship shape again. They fixed the engine problem on the next cruise. They changed the itinerary ports after the break down because of the limited speed Splendor could achieve and made one of the ports Freeport where they spent almost 2 days at and had a crew work on the engines. When Splendor left Freeport she was under full power again and as far as i've heard no issues since then.

  13. On May 23 of next year Carnival has Dream, Freedom and Glory all there, in addition to Liberty of the Seas and MSC Opera which should dock at Coxen Hole.

WOW. the beaches are going to be insane that day. good day to book little french key or big french key. or one of the other resorts thats on its own key and limit the number of guests.

Our cruise in April there will be 3 ships there at the same time. Glory and Fantasy and then a Norwegian ship at Coxen hole.

  14. All I bring is a pair of dockers and a button up dress shirt and I'm not the only only one dress this way either. I'm on vacation last thing I want to do is dress up with slacks, dress shirt & tie and dress shoes. Yeah, it takes up a lot of space in your suitcase. I try to only pack 1 suitcase when traveling because airline baggage fees, space, carrying them around, space in the car going to and from the airport. But like others have said you won't be the only one dressed in dockers and button up shirt there.

Once you do get your "elegant" attire on and go to the MDR, order more then 1 lobster tail. Lots of people don't realize you can order more then 1 main plate, appetizer, side dish. Order as much as you think you can eat. Order 3 or 4 lobster tails. They won't bat an eye at the request. Get your fill

  15. And even more.

I've seen pictures from other cruisers of Mahogany bay beach and I have yet to see one that even comes close to West bay beach. My cruise next April were going back to West Bay beach without even a thought of going to a different beach. All the pictures I just posted in this post and above are from Bananarama Beach resort which is just a few properties north of Tabyana Beach. All the underwater pictures are from West bay also and to be more exact on location of where i was snorkeling was right in front of Infinity bay resort. The beach itself is public and you can walk up and down the beach all you want. You can even eat lunch or buy a snack or drink at most any of the resorts restaurants up and down the beach. you only need a day pass to use their beach chairs, umbrella's and other facilities like pool, changing rooms and bathrooms. If you go in and buy food or drinks at the bars or restaurants you dont need a day pass. your spending money with them they will gladly serve you.

  16. All those pictures above are of West bay beach. Mahogany Bay cant hold a candle to West Bay Beach in water Clarity, Color, Coral, Snorkeling and Sand. And when i say sand I mean west bay beach sand is like walking on powdered sugar. The sand at West Bay is so fine its extremely soft on your feet. I've heard Mahogany beach sand was imported when Carnival had it built and is much more course. Water is murky because of the dirtier sand and water is a bit more rougher on the south side of the island and stirs up the sand to make it murky.

Heres my Pictures of West Bay from April 2016.
